This is a great alternative application. Ive found it to be very useful, accurate and love the history it gathers;

I was looking for something in the app market and happened to run across this. Looks like a new update for Youtube. Seems like a little smoother interface and bit more finger friendly. Just figured I'd share!
The native YouTube app? Or are you talking about a 3rd party one?
I ask because I'm not getting an update notification. Since its one of my most used apps I'm definitely interested in any new improvements
The native app. I didnt get a notification for it either but it's def a different verision then what I had before. Try searching for it in the market.
I think it may be for 2.2 only.

I'm running Cog Beta 5.5. Which is 2.2.
But, it looks like it is completely separate than the YouTube app which comes pre installed on the captivate. Just downloaded, and so far I like it.
Here's the Appbrain
EDIT: It also allows you to edit the SafeSearch controls. Which I had heard previously Samsung (or ATT) disabled.

Can anyone else confirm this? I never got a backup so I don't want to upgrade unless this is true.

It definitely does let you edit the safe-search controls. First thing I did was turn them off
still cant watch a lot of music videos (thanks to VEVO) and a bunch of popular videos (worst dj ever) are still not viewable or searchable.
Have to use the regular Youtube site and use flash for those videos.
It clearly states on the AppBrain page that it is for 2.2 and up, so no dice for us Eclair users.

new and improved....
yeah,i downloaded this yesterday and i really like this version- the interface looks much better dark and i like that i have access to my channel when away from my computer...found out about the new youtube app through android central-no notification was sent to me since the captivate doesn't officially have 2.2?(i have the leaked 2.2 )
thanks for the headsup!!
New app looks awesome Thanks for the find.
Can someone please go to the new YouTube app (if you have it) go to settings and see what the application version is, please?

Really liking the new update. Again this is for 2.2 only, it didn't show up as an update to my current youtube app, but it did replace it once I downloaded and installed it.
Hopefully Google continues to add more and more of the stock apps to the market... one way to combat the horrors of Sense, TouchWiz, etc.

Confirmed working on my end.
Definitely an improvement but still can't comment from within the app which I hope they implement

same issue here. I tried loading the first nf app that was out. I can get in and see my queues. But installing the new one by fresh, I get the login in screen and that is all. if install the new over the old, it just quits.
Could have posted this in any of the dozen existing threads on this. Should have been in the Apps subforum. Seems like there's varying degrees of success with those already trying it.

I didn't see one posted in the Captivate forum. ANd the reason why I posted it here is because I think the Evo users tweaked it for their phones. It's working for them.
I think we might have to tweak it as well.
Anyways, did you guys wait for the update?

The other threads are in the Apps subforum (and a couple in Q&A). That's where this belongs. What update are you referring to? Does the app auto-update after install?

By working you mean you can stream a movie? What ROM and version are you running?
It installed, but every time I try to log in, it closes. And I have a Netflix account.

For it to work, you need to let it autoupdate itself. I'm going to give it a try.

So? According to Netflix this should not work on any device with a Hummingbird processor regardless of what ROM it is running. The only aspect of "working" that anyone cares about is streaming an actual movie. Anything else is just more FAIL.
I had this but after a full wipe some of my apps (despite a backup in Titanium Backup pro) were lost, the bloody Android Market removed this app has anyone got an apk, done a search on Google but comes up short.
Cheers
ps- this doesn't work tried already.

I found it at last after yet another search (not on 4shared either)
Pathetic that the Android Market should delete one of the best betting apps around.
any chance you post the link or apk?
cheers

Still geekin' out over this live wallpaper. It displays your logcat (Android system activity log) as your wallpaper, so you can constantly see what your phone is up to. The lite version is free, and the donate version costs $0.99 and adds a few additional aesthetic features.
Nerdgasm!

EDIT - Above URL doesn't work in the XDA app due to a bug handling BBCode, apparently.
This should work from the app: https://market.android.com/details?id=org.jraf.android.logcatlivewallpaperlite

Yeah, just tried it from the XDA app and it wouldn't work either. The links are exactly the same character-for-character, must be a BBCode issue.
EDIT - Yup, I removed the URL tags and it works fine in the app now. I'll see if I can find a way to report that to the XDA app developers.
EDIT2 - Done, bug reported! Seems the XDA App for Android doesn't like certain situations where the displayed text for the link matches the actual URL. It inserts an extra http:// in front of the URL when launching the Android browser for some reason.
That said, any comments on the live wallpaper itself? I can't stop staring at it!
I love it, even though I don't really know what I'm looking at half the time lol

This is something new I have noticed. In Dolphin browser, I used to be able to click on even the tiniest of links, but now when I try and click on a tiny link, it almost always clicks on links above or below that link. Has anyone else noticed this behavior? Is it something in the OS or is it Dolphin?
I have this problem too. The only solution I've found is zoom in before I click on a link.

I do that too, but it would be good to figure out what went wrong.
Anyone got a solution?
That is an app issue. You would find better luck in contacting the developer of DB.
