Bug reports - Nexus 7 General

Is there any way to stop all of these reports im having? It always happens when I'm listening to music or playing games and it stops my music/games and glitches them up. It only happens when I'm not connected to WiFi. It happens like every 15 minutes. Its pretty annoying, i doubt its just my P.A. ROM or my kernel because it happens on every rom or kernel ive used so far. Its not that big of a deal its just pretty annoying lol

I use my tablet probably four hours a day, and have never seen a bug report. I am curious what app you are using that triggers these.

Yeah me to-__- it shows in supersu logs as dump state and if I deny its root access it still pos up

It might be resolvable with an app upgrade (Superuser or SuperSU), but I don't have the exact version details.
Make a backup before you begin.
FWIW, I'm using
- SuperSU v0.99
md5: 0034ec008416b1c3fa7010deb8a3a758 /system/xbin/su
No problems with what I'm using. (drocap2 can get root, but then fails... but N7 has userland buttons for that)
cheers

[Q] Spring Galaxy Tab crashing?

I just got my tablet yesterday and it seems to crash pretty often... it would vibrate once, freeze, then vibrate a few more times before it freezes and FC whatever I'm doing.
What should I do?
(From what I can tell, the sprint version is the least popular version )

Try to root it first, and change your rom and kernel. Did you install any applications or whatever that are, well, funny?
Moved to Q&A.........
Nope no funny stuff, completely stock. A lot of people have problem roofing the sprint one after ota so I didn't bother... guess I'll give it a shot.

XDA app (free version) on Xoom

Does anyone else have FC issues with the free version of the XDA app on their Xoom? Mine consistantly force closes as soon as I log in to my account. It has also done it a couple of times when switching from landscape to portrait but does it every time I log in. Running stock unrooted 3.2 on a US wifi only with the free version of the app. I have tried uninstalling and reintalling but haven't tried a hard reset yet.

I have the same issue. I have uninstalled it. I am running 3.01.
I used to have this issue. I know there is a specific version that does not FC, ( I know cause I used to have it). I cannot remember what version.
If it helps, the premium version does not FC, and it's only 99 cents

same here, Xoom 3.2

I'm a dork, hadn't even looked to see how much the paid one is. Im on here constantly I'll just buy it. Thanks a ton for the replies!

Spotify question

I got my AHD yesterday. Had wifi problems at first but I seem to have figured that out. Now I'm having problems with spotify. It fc's like crazy, will freeze up and stop playing. And especially if I use the lock screen controls. Can anyone else test and see how it acts on your phone? I'm wondering if it's my phone or the AHD in general.

I have the exact same problem :/
Except it's on my phone.
It started after the new radio spotify update.
Just because I wrote this and I rebooted my phone it seems like it works again ^^

There are a few apps that probably haven't been tested on the AHD yet. Spotify and Hulu for example.
Until the company tests them, there will probably be issues.
My Spotify basically doesn't work on my AHD.

Yea its pretty tricky. I found that if I get it to play and immediately leave the app it'll usually continue to play through my list. As soon as I try to select songs or do any basic action in the app it just freezes up and fc's.

Tapatalk based apps

Xda app and another tapatalk based app for another forum are having force close issues on 2 different devices. My cappy running helly bean 20130426. The other is my htc incredible running cm7.2 . They are both running the most recent versions of the apps. It does happen more often on the HTC. Is it a known issue with the apps or could it be related more to the age of the devices? Any help is appreciated.

Go in settings -> Apps and clear their data.
Didn't work. I've removed and reinstalled even. Only happening the last two weeks.

try running a debugger or take a log cat after the fc and look for the nature of error. The fact that you are getting it on two different devices sounds like it is something particular to your assortment of apps and any optimizations that you may have running.
I have not had any issues with xda, although I did decide to manually force a close when opening page 1 of a 2000± page thread, Better Battery Stats. It was taking forever to load but it didn't fc on its own.

The cappy is exactly as it is when you install the ROM. I've done nothing but install a few apps and that's it. I have far fewer on it than the incredible.
On the incredible it runs as it does when it is installed as well. Only no gapps and a WiFi only script to kill the radio and some system apps that I deleted. I don't over clock or under volt or mess with any settings other than ones that could be adjusted on a stock unrooted device. It has far more FC's than the cappy.
Unfortunately this is where I show my ignorance. While I have learned loads here I do not know how to take a log cat. This is the first time I've had a problem with anything I've done that couldn't be fixed with a factory reset and redownload.
I rarely get a fc with xda its my other app that has the problem the most. Its motorcycle.com free. Its daily sometimes multiple times and hour sometime in the same 5 minute period. Though I do notice it more with threads that have a lot of pics on them.

Actually appears to have stopped. I downloaded adblocker plus last night and have had a single FC close with the cappy. Don't recall having had one with the dinc either but I'll have to use that more later. It was dying. I'll report back with that later.

My Note 3 random reboots

It started yesterday. The biggest changes I can think of are
1. adding Gear Manager and connecting Gear 2 Neo to it which happened one week ago. No issues till now
2. putting in and taking out a microSD card. Shortly after this action, the random reboots started. I don't think I messed up the related hardware. I did it carefully, not forcing anything. I even shut down the device and popping the battery before inserting and removing the microSD.
I'm scratching my head what could have triggered the random reboots. I have shut down Bluetooth to trouble-shoot what is causing the random reboots. Any insight is greatly appreciated. Thanks
What firmware are you on? Are you rooted? Have you tried another sd card? Maybe try a factory reset

It is possible that the power button is failing.

I believe it is in gravity box. But it is possible that wanam has that feature as well.

My Note 3 isn't rooted. It's running stock KitKat. It doesn't have a microSD. I put one in to copy files and took it out right away. I don't know if it was a coincident. The reboots started shortly after I put in and took out the microSD. I think it's more a coincident because I was super careful with the microSD slot.
I just did a reset. I'll observe if reboots happen again.
I know it sounds crazy but try going into Settings>Wifi>Advanced and unchecking "Always Allow Scanning". Once I used a SD in it and have that checked my phone randomly reboots no matter what ROM or MODs I use and I have met other people on here that have had the same issue and unchecking that setting fixed it. Something about the way some SD cards work and that setting not playing nice with each other. Hope this helps you, I know it nearly drove me mad until someone suggested I try unchecking it.
I did a reset and restored my all apps backed up by Helium. I got random reboots still. But may be because I also restored Gear Manager and its associated plugins and apps, I was still getting random reboots. I have reset again and restored all my apps without the Gear Manager etc. So far it's been 20 hours, no random reboots. I'll observe some more. I just have the feeling Gear Manager etc have something to do with the reboots.
@zacharyt86: I'll remember your tip too. Thanks
My N3 used to do that a lot so i rooted the phone and now i have no issues. I did have issues with some roms and when i was using a rom slot on ss but no issues on the stock slot.
Im on JB though but my note had the same issue. I think its a memory issue... I was also using a cache cleaner then that i just havent used since i changed roms
Ya think it just could be one if those weird things I see others having issues that I'm not having if it keeps doing it I would call Samsung or take it back to att

Root alone does nothing. All it does is allow administrative access to everything.

Google or the search function will answer your question.
Highjacking a thread will not.

It's been 60+ hours. No reboots. I'm inclining to conclude it's Gear Manager and its associated plugins and apps that caused the reboots. I'll install Gear Manager again, not install any Gear app, just connect phone calling and default notifications, i.e.all default stuff. Will report back.
