[i9000] = [GT-i9000] Purchased Galaxy S in Thailand

I bought this phone in thailand but it is not running Android, it says meditek when it boots. Is it possible to put Android on it?

Perhaps u have been cheated with fake product.Thailand is full of duplicate electronics item.
Now ur only hope is to check wether download mode is working on this phone or not?To check switch off ur phone and now press volume down+home key+power key together

Dude sorry to say but its a fake 1 as you can see the pics. The first one clearly shows that the button row is way up then where it should be, second one shows that in the back cover there are no small designed dots and the back cover seems to be black and not blue, and lastly the biggest proof is that the box is of galaxy s LCD version (i9003) and not galaxy s i9000 also that box is also fake as nor i9000(16gb) and nor i9003(4gb) had 8 gb internal memory also this box is designed to look like i9003's box but is written i9000!

What only $160?You are lucky man.My dad bought me sony vaio laptop from bangkok for $1567.After two months it got damaged,and when i took it to service center they told me that it is fake and it was running some processor made by VIA

Also srryy I didn't notice the biggest thing the user interface its clearly not android and tw. Its surely a cheap copy and also u told us it costed u 160$(u didn't specify of which country) ! So if we assume it is US 160$then according to my country's currency it is 7200rs whereas I bought mine for 22000rs (Indian)!

Man mountain will not fall down if he can tell us wether in setting menu some os related info is showing or not.And android oprating system UI can be customized in different way.So by looking at the interface we cannot really tell wether its running android or not?

the real Galaxy S costs over $400. I'd guess this is a misunderstanding rather than a cheating.

Unfortunately, I got a replacement and have only been able to flash a rooted kernel...the rest of the ROM is stock and so is the recovery. I need to flash something BADLY!!!!

you put up with things like mute then unmute on every call cause the rom is too good to let that little bug keep you off it.
nightlies get flashed nightly.
you've drunkenly soft bricked your phone trying to show someone how easy it is to flash something by flashing an imcompatible kernel/rom that was still on your sd.
you've successfully odin'd/heimdall'd back to stock, still drunk after soft bricking your phone trying to show how easy it is... (and that, kids, is the story of my first time using odin)

Yeah, I've heard many people who bought the Nexus 7 from retail stores had problems with the screen. I would imagine that the new unit had no problems ?

Depends if you actually use the game pad or not. If you do and don't want to have to get a bluetooth gamepad there's not really anything to replace it. If you don't go ahead.

The game pad is the reason why I got the phone in the first place and I love the way it looks but my friend say that it's not got much proseing power as the Samsung galaxy s 3 is that true or are they just trying to get me to upgrade

The S3 does have more processing power, do you need it though? If your happy with the XP then keep it, if not trade up.

I was about to buy a Xperia Play the other day but the seller there told me that it's not good since there are better fast android phone out there. So I just reserved a Samsung S3 instead.

Yes it is dated. They've dropped support for it, there are no games specifically developed for Play anymore, and it barely runs new games. I had one couple months ago, and it's extremely slow!

Don't think so. The more I read into it, the more upsetting it is. Last I heard, the NHLPA was considering desertification which would in-turn make the lockout illegal. The NHL and NHLPA were a billion dollars apart in their initial negotiations. The NHLPA has swayed 800 million in the NHL's direction and they STILL wouldn't accept it! What I think they should do is burn just Bettman at the stake, much like old Salem, but that's just me
