Hello! I'm running CM10.1 on my 8.9 and would like to show images truly full screen when looking through gallery. Is there anyway to do this? Some kind of auto hide bar like in Windows at the launcher level or even just a new viewing app?

Go to settings, system, power menu, and check extended desktop. Then tap the power button to bring up the power menu and enable it.

Worth a try but no dice. Oddly the black bars are still there in the gallery after doing this. The image will snap to full screen for a moment and then resize as though the bars were still there. Thanks for the effort.

Lame. Does that happen with quick pic and other photo viewers too?

I tried a couple others that had weird resizing issues; like they would muddy the render or something. Quickpic fixed it... Thanks so much!

A quick and maybe dumb question: Is there a way to arrange icons in the homescreen just by sliding one on top of the other, like the iPhone?
Thanks in advance!

Thats exactly what you do.
Press and hold the icon the drag it round to where you want it then let go.
Drag it down to the bin icon to remove it.
To place an icon on the home screen, go to the apps screen and press and hold the icon you want on the home screen. Only let go when you see the home screen appear.

Sorry if I haven't made myself clear, what I mean is if it's possible to drag an icon on top of another so they switch places.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App
as far as I know it is only possible in the TouchWiz App Launcher (when you are in the edit mode),
but you can't change places on the homescreen like on the iPhone. (not with standart launcher)
This was something I was surprised by as well... it's like having one of those puzzle sliders at times to get everything where I want it!

Indeed
Even more annoying to me is the fact, that folders don't close when the home button is pressed / an app is launched. I think that's quite irritating...Oo
I miss the power widget that was packaged in the original loader, it's not worth going back just for the widget. What are your favorites?

What's wrong with the power widget in the pull down notification bar? I still have that after flashing the decrapped rom, and I love it.

Gotcha - the only widget I used on my Moto Droid was the stock Android 2.2 widget, so the notification bar widget is enough for my needs - it's basically the same thing only in a more convenient place
I'll take a look at the droid built in app. Thanks Ben. What I'm missing is the grouped switches on one widget. That and to be able to turn off sync without digging in settings.

I use "Free Power Widget"...im just trying it out, but will probably pay for the full version as I think its pretty good and customizeable...So far so good.
Just tried Extended Controls and Widgetsolid but both have broken functions e.g. gps and sync.

Any one else notice the lack in quality of the animations when swiping from screen to screen?
Mainly that some icons go faster around then others. Wonder why they did such a crap job on that part of MotoBlur.
I personally wish there was a way to turn the launcher animations off.

What you're describing was done intentionally to give "depth" to the home screen...aka provide a 3D effect. If you drag the screen really slowly you get a better feel for the effect. I don't think you can disable this with the stock launcher.

I didn't think there was either without editing the framework.

Yeah. When in the app dock it is nice, the icons stay in there location in space relative to the swiping to the next. Just on the home screen if i swipe slowly several icons will go faster then others and get on top of them while some stay in there relative location. Just found it odd.
Anyone using the XDA app on their Tab 7.7? If so, have you figured out a way to switch to the dark theme? There's no menu button, so I haven't been able to figure out a way to switch the themes.
EDIT: Well, I ended up getting the Tapatalk Forum App. The menu button works and I'm able to use the dark theme.
Try downloading button savior from the market.

I tried that. It didn't work. Hitting the menu button did nothing.

Same as the previous pictures show. I use dark theme on my 7.7 XDA premium. Tap the menu button'three line button' then tap more, settings and display style then select simple style. its dark themed then.

Not sure if you've tried but when you flip beyond that first cover page and into the feeds page there's a little settings icon in the bottom right. You can change font size there.
