GSM/WCDMA mode

I've just bought a sgs i9000 (2nd hand) that was locked on to the orange network and I'm in India..
For some reason the GSM/WCDMA mode doesn't work!!
And I need this mode if I'm to access 3g networks in India!!
Does anyone know a fix/work around for this...

Try your settings on APN....Is it correct ?

Yes the apn is fine...I think its something to do with the hardware..going to check it out at the samsung gallery..

Powerbutton

Hi guys,
My powerbutton is sometimes not working. In the beginning smashing it would fix the problem but that doesn't work anymore. I'm using MIUI GB, first I didn't have the problem so I don't think it's the ROM, but it might be a bug.
Any ideas?

I too have the same problem sometimes i gives a quick response while most of times delayed response or no response..

Take to LG service centre .... I to had this problem ..... they will fix this

Scary sound

Hi, recently my phone began to make some sound like loud "TEK"
It comes from the speaker even when my sound is muted .. it used to happen when I ran a heavy app .. but now it seems to happen very often .. does it come from the processor? And does that happen to someone else? Is there something to do about it? ?
I didn't use any overclocking if that helps

I think you're talking about the strange sound that happens when I launch or quit camera app ? Because of that I'm always afraid of seeing my phone explode.

No mate ,, its a different sound ,, u can see it if u turn up\down volume of profile not media quickly ,, it pops

3G Problem

Some times my 3G just disconnect without any reason, what is the problem?

What android version do you have???
Maybe be a prob with a bad signal /connection....lost the connection to the network ...

What does it mean? A "normal" signal refresh from network??? Does it happen when there is not "fault" ...normally, too???

I think you can't get 3G speed (locked by your carrier) if you didn't contract it :S but you can try it: go to setting and change your mobile network to WCMA only

It is already in the WCDMA mode...
But , my question is how to increase the downloding speed ....???

I said you, YOU CAN NOT! use Operamini to increase internet performance, but downloads will be slow as when you use stock browser

I have already used operamini , uc browser...
But , download speed not increase...it is same..

3G tweaks won't work for boosting 2G/edge. They're specific in what they say & do the same,i.e., boost the 3G & not 2G.

Normally when telefone is in range ,and there is no software blocking for 3G it should change it automaticly. Are you sure you are in 3G range ?

And my mode is only wcdma...

I used script manager...but when i opening 3g turbo charger...every time it says me that...permission denind...
What can i do ???

GSM = 2G/EDGE
WCDMA = 3G/HSDPA
...so GET A NEW 3G PLAN!!!

And 100% sure ,that this 3G network is upgraded to HSDPA ? Maybe it is still WCDMA...
