Does anyone know what the new Firmware update is? Is it Jelly Bean or just another ICS patch like the SGS2?

It's on the Sammobile website or I think Kies as well. I don't know because I don't own one.

UVMA1 Radio
If anyone is interested, I made a flashable zip (I used twrp 2.3) containing the new radio. I haven't had time to see if its any faster than the BLAZE radio I've been using... My t-mobile connection here at home is weak (nearly always 3G), nothing I can do about that, but initial speedtest.net tests show the same 3-5M I got with BLAZE. Ymmv.
New member, can't upload files yet, so... I guess you cant have it.
email me for the link if interested, maybe one of you can upload the zip (and the screenshot).
thx

Note sure T-Moblile site says security patches. All I know is that it unrooted my phone and removed TWRP as my boot. I did it through Keis as OTA was failing and I was hoping it would have been something more than ICS upgrade. So next time will do more research before applying updates next time. I was running stock image with root and TWRP but not ready to go to JB.
email contact
I set the the option in my profile preferences to allow emails from members. Any member should be able to see my email... somebody say something if that's not the case.
Word around Tmo SGS2 forum is that we might see Jelly Bean around the 13th of February. I've also read at Sammobile that Galaxy S2 and Galaxy note were on the list for the upgrade. But we really don't know when Tmobile will release the updates.

Are we able to root and install CWM on top of this version?
Well I was able to root but still having difficulty trying to install cm on the phone.
If I get the email of the new radio I will try and post it, I should have rights by now.....
What does the new radio do?

for starters, go to menu>settings>about phone and see if anything there gives away the state of your rom. also, is your BL unlocked (does it show unlocked on motorola boot animation)?
If your phone has all the blur content and has certain things locked down and such then chances are its stock.
another thing to check is whether or not your system is deodexed as most custom roms are.
I don't know a foolproof way of checking myself.
Alright well I don't think my phone has a custom rom on it but here is what I have just to make sure im right. I do know my phone does not have an unlocked b.l
System Version: 4.1.83MB860.ATT.en.US
Model:MB860
Baseband: N_01.77.15P
Webtop: oshwt_u1_4.257.30
Build number: OLYFR_U4_1.8.3
Let me know if I need anything else. I would take a screenshot but the app doesn't work for some reason.

Hey guys, I know that not every rom is made for xt860 so Im just wondering, when I Installed minimoto it wouldn't connect to bell, It found it but then said my similar isn't compatible with the connection. I used to be on mav rom but out of nowhere it stopped working kept force closing my texting apps. I don't remember if installed a patch to get my connection working or something. Lol thanks if anyone helps me out with this. I've been out if the scene for awhile. Also can anyone confirm if YouTube, Facebook and guitar pro tabs work on ics? I also read ics has glitches with calling and mms. I don't have time to read through forums ATM so it'd be cool if someone could help me out with getting g this stuff installed. If I absolutely need to edit the build.prop to get it working then ill do that. If you can call, text and use Facebook and the ultimate guitar app then I want to switch to ics. Thanks

Has anyone got Google now working on their SGH-i957 running the stock ICS rom? I have it on my phone, a motorola Droid 4 via this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1747224
which explains how to put google now on your ics device. I found NOTHING in the thread even remotely close to mentioning our device, most likely because we are such a small niche. I am too nervous to try flashing without knowing ahead of time if it will work. Curious if anyone has tried or knows how to get Google now on the device since I believe it was already determined we will never see JellyBean right?
Install or reinstall Google search. Now is part of it. Get it on the play store.

You are correct in your statement that Google Now is part of google search, however that feature is only available if you are running 4.1 or higher (i.e. JellyBean).
My question has to do with hacking it to get it to work on the the sgh-i957 running 4.0(Ice cream Sandwich)

You can check the cpu version on settings, about tablet. I don't have mine with me or I'd check it, Pretty sure it's a 7.
It's sounds like I had the same problem with nrvate's as you. That's interesting, I thought it was just a fluke. I too repaired thru Sammy.
If I find some time tonight I might play around with this. I too like the stock ics and now I'm even more concerned with nrvate's.

Sweet! Sort of... Lol
Can you be specific about what's not working in each the offline and online versions?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I957 using Tapatalk HD
I won't mess with the off line. It really doesn't work well. The only issue I've had with the online is it doesn't always close. To close out I've had to press on the show more cards, which I know doesn't make sense but it does close it. Other than that it works well and does everything it does in cm10.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda app-developers app
By not closing, do you mean you swipe it away and it comes right back?
Thats a common problem with this hack. Known issue.
I run the offline version daily and other than that issue i dont really have any problems so i was just curious what your specific issues were...
I guess i'll play it safe and go with the online version

Anyone interested in a stock based ROM-Jelly Cream with many ported apps but on the old bootloader.
I have ported this.
Let me know if someone interested in testing this.
I can send the link via PM if you are interested
Thanks
Sorry that I post here but I have a problem/bug in this ROM(newbootloader version). Everytime I receive a text message(sms) I get this error:
" Note: The Application Messaging (process.com.android.mms) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again". The good thing is that I receive the message, the bad is that the phone doesn't ring and get always this message. I wiped the cache/sms cache/etc but with the same result.
The second problem is after I flash kowlasky, the kowlasky manager doesn't work properly(the led brightness doesn't work, and the kernel info doesn't appear in phone information, it shows the stock kernel info.
Thanks!

impossible to get it on old bl.
new bl = more space in system folder for applications. almost all ICS based ROMs can not be on old bl because they take too much size. old bl is too smal in size (MB) mate.

This is not true: if you change the old bl system partition to 512MB any rom available on xda for new bl and converted to old bl can be installed.
Usually CM converted roms work, stock ICS or similar roms (like this one) might have problems related to some converted file but not depending to the size.
