kenyanscott,
Bluetooth Tether is designed to allow you to use the Internet just like WiFi Tether but maybe the Kindle does not like to Tether via Bluetooth.
Let's give you a list to try - first two are WiFi, the last is Bluetooth:
1. WiFi Tether for Root Users: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.googlecode.android.wifi.tether
2. Wifi Hotspot & USB Tether Lite: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.svtechpartners.wifihotspotdemo
3. Wireless Tether for Root Users: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=android.tether

Ill give them a try and let you know. Thank you

kenyanscott,
Please let us know if you are unable to download the software to the Kindle. Sometimes you will get an erroneous message about the 'software not being compatible' with the Kindle Fire, if this happens just post a response here and we will get you the software (as long as it is free).

Ever want to continue a text conversation while driving? Do you receive texts and have to pull to the side of the road just to read them? Not anymore! HFT (Hands Free Texting) is an app
that will solve all of these annoying problems, all while keeping you totally safe when driving.
HFT will allow you to hear who is texting you, either read or ignore the incoming message, hear it again, and then respond, all using your voice. HFT won’t just immediately send a message either -- we all know that sometimes voice recognition isn’t totally accurate, so HFT will replay the message before sending so that you can avoid any embarrassing messages if your voice is not recognized properly.
Unlike most voice recognition apps, HFT is compatible with both bluetooth headsets and in-car devices. In addition, HFT gives you the choice to automatically turn off voice notifications when your device is in silent or vibrate mode, without you having to worry about it. Turning HFT on or off is as simple as tapping the homescreen widget, which glows red to tell you that it is running. A status bar notification will also let you know that you’re ready to text hands-free.
When it comes to safety, peace of mind, and convenience, there is nothing better than being able to continue texting with your eyes safely on the road or whatever else you may be doing, and HFT makes it happen seamlessly and effortlessly.
For $.99, it is better than getting a $175 ticket.
If you are unsure about the app and want to see how it works or if it is compatible with your phone, download the Lite version for free.

i was getting a similar error initially after flashing the flashcast 13300 zip, but only when I attempted to setup from a browser.
when i used the chromecast app it worked without issue. you sure you've established a connection from the phone to the chromecast?

No, just go into the navigation panel and hit hot spot like all Android devices. Hotspot isn't disabled like it was the the SGS3.

Most of the AT&T share plans include tethering when in the past tethering was only for certain plans or extra. So maybe it depends on the data plan? If your plan includes it, you shouldn't even need Foxfi.
I have an unlimited data plan that I have had for the past 5 years.

I am wondering if it has something to do with the unlimited data plan I have.

wifi tethering works fine for me. i disabled every single at&t app as well as the mobile hotspot app. the native wifi tethering from the settings menu then worked fine for me. im on an old 3GB LTE data plan as well.
Well, I got it to work for about one minute before it got disabled by that damn ATT mobile hotspot in settings. How did you disable it? I tried and it won't let me.

when you are in the app launcher, hit settings, uninstall/disable apps, then choose all the at&t apps. they wont uninstall, but they will be disabled. seems to work fine for me?

Possible virus or malicious app

Out of the blue a few days ago I started getting intrusive pop-up ads while browsing the web. I use Chrome and Firefox.
Now, while web browsing, I get redirected to a site called downlund.com and Firefox asks how I want to proceed with the download. I always just back out.
I have avg and lookout on my phone, both of which say I am good to go.
Anyone familiar with this?

have u installed any apps manually? is so, what? have u installed any shady ad blocker apps?
something may have taken over your hosts file. if so, it may be an easy fix, but who knows what else it's doing. might be best to do a factory reset and be done with it.
you're the first instance I've heard of having android malware, and apparently confirming why android antivirus apps are a joke.

I just rooted and that took care of it. I didn't have ad blockers. The only thing out of the ordinary was 2048 game app. But it was the highest rated in the play store. Anyway. Thank you.

no, and I've used that app before. Unless malware was injected into the app recently updated on the play store, it's not the culprit.
what do u mean by you rooted and took care of the virus? What did u actually do after rooting? had you previously downloaded any apps from the internet (not on the play store)?

It seemed to have stopped after I rooted, but I spoke too soon. I did not download anything from the internet.
But after all that I downloaded ad away from f-droid and now it s gone. Adaway said AccuWeather from the playstore was the culprit.

Poor battery life after switching to T-Mobile?

What's up guys,
so I have a Motorola Moto Maxx XT1225 running 5.0.2 stock (rooted) and I'm currently getting about 3hs of screen on time.
I really don't know why or when this happened, but I used to get around 6~ average.
The only thing that changed is my carrier (I switched to T-Mobile). But still, I'm always with solid LTE signal / WiFi.
Ideas? Thanks
Bump. No ideas?
Sent from my XT1225 using Tapatalk
I'm guessing you're radio hopping. Verizon was probably more stable on the connection. (ie: finding 4g or 3g and staying there)
Try using a root based program to lock your phone in 3g or 4g.

Hi! thanks for your help
I was actually using AT&T before T-Mobile.
Can you recommend a good app to do that? I am not sure if that's the problem because my phone is always with solid LTE signal.
I'm also thinking about installing a new rom. Maybe CM or Nexus Experience. Suggestions?
Thanks!!
I used an exposed module that had that in it. I think it was called APM+ maybe? It was a power menu that added flashlight/screencap/recovery/radio lock when you hit the power button.
Sorry I can't recommend a rom on this device I have a locked boot loader. But on all my other devices I've always liked cm the most.
