Hi, so for the last two weeks i found this issue that's been killing me.
I run a P970 (Optimus Black) running always the latest NIGHTLY from CM10.1.
Two weeks ago I was updating the phone to the version "10.1-20130121-NIGHTLY" and everything went smoothly but after the reboot the phone wouldn't mount my SD card anymore. Mind you that I use a good SD CARD (Amazon Basics 16gb) and tried going into storage and mounting it from there. After several atempts such as removing battery, inserting SD and booting again I decided to check if my SD was corrupted.
IT WAS NOT! TAM DAM DAM!!!
I could access all of my files just fine from my computer.
Just to clear my mind I decided to format the SD card with SD FORMATER but it did bloody nothing.
After that, still holding on to my good manners I tried 3 other SD CARDS that I had laying around.
Nothing....
Now. It was personal.
I spent these last weeks and many aeons searching XDA and the rest of the internet for a case similar to mine and the closest I got, is a thread about a EVO 4G. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=695243
Unfortunatly, my Optimus Black refuses to play nice and still hasn't shape shifted to a EVO 4G so we could all move along.
Does anyone has come to a problem like this one? Know how to fix it?
I have already prayed to the Elder Gods and all that it brought me were these horrible, horrible nightmares.
Please, help!

Make a nandroid, flash another stock rom, do factory reset from hidden menu and try again. Then you ll see, of it is hard or software related.

Also, sorry but I would do a nandroid and then what?
I download the Online Nandroid app but why would I run a backup when I am trying to flash another rom?
Sorry if I sound confusing but I only ever had to install new roms thru the LG software and using CWM.
Thanks :good:

You should do a backup, so you can restore it if needed... although restoring it without a working cwm will be... hard to impossible i mean restoring it without being able to mount the sd card is pretty complicated... are you able to access the sd card in cwm?

I ll ask again. Are you able to access you sd card in cwm? Maybe check if the small switch next to the sd card isnt moving, if you put it in. Also check, if it works, if you put some preasure on the sd card slot. Dont yet give up on it

Hi, can you please teach me how to flash a newer version without an SD card?
Thanks
Download the latest nightly in your PC
Put your SD in your PC
Copy the file to your SD
Put your SD in your phone
Turn on your phone
When is on long press your power button
Select reboot, select reboot recovery
From there you must know the rest.

I was being incredible stupid actually. I finally managed to flash a new rom. There was some debris inside the SD Slot. I managed to open the smartphone out of its shell and remove it.
Thanks guys!

I've heard that the latest CM7 has difficulties recognizing the External SD card when connected to a PC. I'm not sure if this is what you're describing?

Cm7 reads SD cards fine as long as when you install it you have froyo installed first. If you installed cm7 from eclair or Gingerbread, check the cm7 troubleshooting post for instructions.
Also remember the external SD card is mounted as emmc.

Mine came with froyo from new so it went straight from froyo to cm7, And its not really when its connected to the pc its when its in the phone aswell just nothing?

I bought one of those sd cards pre loaded with CM7 on eBay because I dont feel comfortable yet with the whole android modding. Other than putting in that SD Card I have done nothing to my nook, no rooting, or anything. SO, how can I put MIUI on an sd card and just pop it in like the CM7 one without any modding? Thanks!
you can boot cm7 From sd without root!?
didnt know it was Possible.

The easiets and IMHO best method is to use this. Copy your MIUI file... rename the copy adding update-cm- to the beginning of it and use it where the instructions say CM7.

Yes... since the NC is hard programmed to boot uSD first, there is NO NEED for rooting stock to boot any other ROM from uSD. Several people do this to maintain warranty while using other AOSP OS's.
cool didnt Know that. boot from sd would be great on other android too. DHD is dual booting now.
After more than a year of using my o2x,I finally have up, got myself a nexus and have the LG to my girlfriend.
I wiped it, installed Rom clean and gave it to her.
After just one day this message appeared "internal sd card damaged".
I flashed another radio, and it works for three days, than it appeared again today.
Anyone seen this?
In more than a year I've never ever seen or heard of this problem.

I had a corrupted internal SD once. Can't remember quite what I did to screw it up (I think I was messing around with mount points for internal and external SD), but the only way to fix it was an nvflash of a stock ROM. Formatting it didn't help (I tried it through Storage settings and CWM), but the nvflash fixed it.

I think the errors I got were "error reading SD card" rather than "internal SD card damaged" so it may be a hardware fault you have there.
Moved to Q&A please ask all questions there.
I flashed a new rom* today and everything works great except for the internal sd card not able to mount.
Ask what more information you need.
*Here is the link the rom. : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2029534

Not really a helpful response.. I'm quite aware it says that, as I've already stated that in my original post. Once I have flashed the rom and other file, do I flash the boot.img file before or after restarting the phone?

Internal SD Card recognized but will not mount!
Hey,
I recently rooted my HTC Vivid (ATT) and installed CyanogenMod version 10-20131006-NIGHTLY-holiday. Everything works fine but I cant get the internal sd card to mount. There is an option in the storage setting that say "mount internal sd card." When I press that it appears as if it is mounting then it Apps, Pictures, videos, Audio(music, ringtone..... etc. Almost right after you press that it goes back to the mount sd card button. I have flashed the boot.img, used the terminal emulator and still have the same problem! I would really really (and just to drive it home) REALLY appreciate it if someone would help me with this!
If you need more info or would like to contact me to help me just email me at [email protected]
You can also just message me here if you wish.
Lemme guess... You're using CWM...
If not... I bet you factory reset from hboot

so when you boot to recovery, what does it say? Is it TWRP, CWM, WCX?
In all likelihood, you've lost the data on your internal storage. Rignfool has posted a fix for this issue countless times, and a quick forum search should come up with a topic where he outlines how to fix it. It involves mounting your phone via the recovery, and letting your windows computer fix/format the internal SD.

Its WCX. Sorry to be so naive but I looked and could not find Regnfool's post. Could you send a link to a few of them? I dont know if this helps but what I want to fix is the apps that use the sd card. Some apps that I know stored info on the sd card on my stock rom will work but are reset after I am finished using them. So bassically apps with save data half work due to this issue. Once again this is the first time I have ever rooted and installed a ROM so im a "rookie" just needing help.

Not a problem! It's an issue a lot of people (including me) have run into while doing stuff. Just count yourself lucky your charge port was working! (mine was not at the time, and was much more of a headache).
