The Galaxy Note is my first Android device, after enjoying a couple of years with the absolute freedom of Maemo. It was a sad day when Nokia decided to ditch MeeGo, and go for Windows Mobile. And a couple of months ago my dearest N900 decided to call it a day.
Now I think I had enough of the Stock installation from Samsung (after flashing the German Stock ICS).
Yesterday I flashed Criskelo, and it was an OK experience, but not quite what I was looking for.
My wishlist for a ROM:
1. SNote, SPlanner and the E-Mail app from stock.
2. Focus on speed and battery.
3. As minimalistic as possible (Drop all the eye-candy)
Now for the question: Which MOD is matching my criterias, or atleast as close as possible?
And yes, I have read page up and page down in the Dev-section, but a lot of the ROM's have a content-list which is very incomplete. So I'm asking you, who have been using mods for some time, and perhaps have been trying a lot of them.
And in light of the possible LPY-bug, which might have caused a couple of hardbricks (Or was it just 1 hardbrick?), I rather not flash through all of the mods.
Hi
Ok, im not recommending this rom just because im using it. I have tried all kinda roms around and finally im using Darky Rom for like few months now and it works great.
For galaxy note current stable rom is :
Build : DarkyROM_Note v 3.4.1 Extreme Edition
Kernel : NoteCore 0.1
but the only thing is it runs n android 2.3.6. ICS rom is still under development. Their kernal is in-house developed and most of the thunderbolt scripts removed. Battery life is way too great. 24hrs connected 2G network and my battery lasts 1day 6hrs+
give it a try. u wont regret..

Stop nonsensing.I'm a beta tester there.I know roobie has started modding but during the process ficeto bricked his note and so robbie said no ics untill a stable release along with a stable kernel is released.but he had also ststed that he wont stop modding which doesnt mean ICS very soon.cheers

I used to have stock Gingerbread on my SGS I9000. Then I switched to DarkyROM ICS, which was okay. After a while I came across the SlimRoms website, which was still developing Slim ICS at the time, so I flashed ICS, which was brilliant. Shortly after the Slim team started working on SlimBean, and after reaching a stable version I tried it for myself, a decision I am glad I made.
SlimBean is by far the lightest, fastest ROM I've used so far. Give it a try for yourself and you'll see how amazing, lag-free it is. I'm using version 3.1 with the Semaphore kernel version 2.6.2s.
Hi,
I've flashed many roms on my i9000 : Miui, cyanogen 7, Cyanogen 9, Jelly Bean, ICs..... but for me the best one is the JW8 SAUROM.
Stable, fast, GS3 Theme and a very good battery life !!
Since i am on this rom i don't want to flash another one !
Slim 3.1 with semaphore 2.6
If someone help me i definitely HIT THANKS....
Your question must be more specific, and I'll try to explain...
In my opininon the are only 2 developers team which should be considered, first CyanogeneMod which leads because of it's bigger number of devs (so more supported devices). 2nd is AOKP, which I personally prefer because it's more designale and more good looking, but also very stable. I've tested hardly both, but 5th build from AOKP has best battery life, so I'm never going back to CM, only for new tests, making new statistics etc.
Hope I helped, greetings

But not alll stock rom 2.3.x can be flash with semaphore.. and not all i9000 can be flash with the same s/rom. But still semaphore 2.7.4 is the best way to get cwm. If flashi v semaphore causing boot failure, try to flash with other s/rom and re-flash semaphore.

The idea of two developers was what I was thinking as well when I was making a decision either to stay on stock 2.3.6 or flash something new. CM9 is more "readable" for me in terms of numbering and Stable/Nightly/Experimental. Even tough I do not understand how come there is a stable version followed by nightly builds.
When watching some videos and screens of AOKP I felt it might be even better but I got confused in the numbering (which of the builds is the most stable as I need a working phone not a phone to be flashed twice a week).
For me the best ROM is SlimBean with Semaphore Kernel!:good:
Try latest androslim (JB 4.2.1)... its very smooth, responsive and very stable...

C-Rom Mix V9 here - it's a near perfect ROM. Stable, everything is where it supposed to be. Very smooth operating. My last phone - XPERIA ARC S was destroyed (and its hardware is superior to that of i9000) - Galaxy - being slower by half is faster when speaking about this system operation. There are some hiccups with number recognition sometimes (like 1/10 phone calls and only till i pick up - so no showstopper for sure ). The camera is limited to just basic functions - but is working perfectly fine. The calendar is more basic than in ICS modded ROM for ARC S. The battery last for a day or less - but here i cannot say if the battery in my phone is just old or is this ROM (i got the phone used and the battery is 2,5 yo). And these are my only complaints - not much I have MUUUUUUUCH more complaints on every other stock/modded rom for Galaxy & ARC S
It's my daily ROM more than a week now.
kisses

I'm not asking for the best ROM available, because i know that that it's against the forum rules .. I just want to know which ROM as less bugs, because my friend doesn't understand anything about this, and if something goes wrong , he's going to blame me lol.
Please help me

Sorry, I didn't saw that thread. Thanks.
Ginger revenge
Basically all functions work in GB, ICS and JB, but the only real difference is how AWESOME GPS works on GB, and how terrible it works on ICS/JB.
And the roms which are mentioned are idd the best options, you also could try broodROM Business Edition, but it's not as dated as Gigabread and Gingerrevenge
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1923279
Ginger Revenge, i´m realy satisfied with it
You can use my ROM , you will not regret it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2143035
I suggest GingerRevenge for GB(RC3)
ARCO 68's CM9 for ICS(RC5)
Ivendor's CM10 for JB (beta 2)
Kernels:
GB:feacore (Jack of all traits!)
Skyhigh (super performance)
ICS:Broodplank kernel
JB: ErikMOD kernel(performance+++)
Diablo333 kernel
Nexus kernel
Device model:SGS+ (i9001)
Recovery:TWRP 2.4.1.0
baseband version:XXXPF
Current ROM:CM10 by ivendor beta 1
Best ROMs ever:
1.GB: GingerRevenge by hiej
2.ICS: CM9 by arco68 RC4
3.JB: ivendor CM10 beta 1
After testing almost all roms my suggestion as of now is
Slim rom

I used to like the Endroix ( CM9 ), but the Dev has stopped the further development on that and the last version got some random reboot issues.
and if you are referring to Ehndroix II , I dont have a good impression on it from start, I do agree that look wize its the Best available, but performance wize its not stable.
CM10 is still buggy, and adding application on top of that will not help,
As of now only GB is stable to work with ,u can use either Ginger Revenge (using it now) or Gigabread+ .
Cheers,
KiK

Hey guys - I'm about to give my i9001 away having just got a Nexus 4. In the meantime I've been having stability issues with this rom (ivendor cm10.1) - regular shutdowns that require removing and replacing the battery to fix, and various freezing issues.
So I'm looking for a very stable, very polished, simple ROM to put on before I give it away to someone who's a pretty good friend. Something CM based would be grand, and GB based is fine if those are the most stable (and she's used to GB). Any ideas?
After that I guess I'll be signing out of this area - you've all been a great help and I'm sure I would have dumped the phone long ago without you!

Oh, ok . Sorry, wasn't thinking straight, still can't. Sick . But yea, he can also try broodROM GB or ICS if he wants. FOr me JB is stable. but I guess it's diffrent for everybody, I don't use my phone that much now because I'm very busy with school and whatnot. But in the end it's up to him. I would recomend GB anyway, cuz she is use to it, and it is blazing fast.

Hi there, this is a desperate topic. Last night (and until now) I've been looking for a decent and smooth JB ROM for my samsung galaxy ace gt-s5830 and I couldnt find anything.
does anyone found any stable JB ROM for this device?
Thank you very much
Regards
Anyone? :\
First of all, this is the wrong section. Should've asked in general. Anyway, no there are no smooth JB Roms for Ace since it is getting old and the CPU and RAM cannot handle JB. You can get some decent ROMs at adroidarmv6 or you can try Mardon's modded ones. Honestly, I recommend either stock, CM7 or a decent CM9 (the one from Rhievaldo is the smoothest).
The Ace's CPU is aging, CM7 should be more stable and faster than JB.
But if you _really_ want JB then just go with plain old CM
Wrong section tho
