Hello together!!
How can i put .apk files into my lg optimus 4x Hd??
I hope these apks are free apps or apps you made. You wouldn't do anything illegal, right?

I assume you use stock. Use mtp when connecting phone to PC. The copy apk file like normal

It is probably easier putting apks on this phone than there is to create a user here at xda

Or use some file cloud, like GDrive. But I think he meant "install app from apk". To do this, check the "unknown sources" in developer settings and then just open the apk, it will install.

To all experts out there..
Right now, i have another android device (garmin asus a10) & so far, i cant install any backup n recovery tools.. is there any way to resolve this?
And also, can i import the sofware (i.e, Garmin navi software) into my O2X? Love the software..
Try Titanium backup
Backup everything on your old device, save your backup on external sd.
Put in your external sd (with titanium files on it) in your new device. Install titanium and restore backups
Should be it

Using it, its the same way using RootExplorer.. zip from /system/app and /carrier/persist-app.. then copy everything n import into my O2X.. Hurmm.. thats 1..

Titanium backup
this good application, i am using one
Well.. try to install Navigation.apk.. results "Installation not finished".. some sort of keeping not to install into other devices..

Try pushing it to /system/app instead of installing it.
"adb push"? How exactly?

Copy/paste with root explorer works fine
Sent from my LG Optimus 2x using XDA Premium App
So, just copy/paste the apk into system/app? Then should i run the app or reboot?
Sent from my LG-P990 using XDA App
If you have your apk stored on sdcard, yes.
Paste it in /system/app, change permissions to rw-r--r--
Reboot
Thats it
If it doesnt work you probably need to port it.. but thats another topic...
Sent from my LG Optimus 2x using XDA Premium App
Well.. didnt work as expected.. hurmm.. can u guide me which forum/s should i read regarding "porting"?

Sent from my LG-P990 using XDA App
There is an OSP directory in the internal memory card. Need the contents of that.

Sent from my LG-P990 using XDA App
Oh dear, that's a pain. I don't have it myself either, but I don't care
I was going to upload it for you, but the OSP directory is empty on my phone. Not sure why!
I don't know why osp is not working..even on my pc the LG p990 skins thing is not there..it doesn't connect to my phone..dunno y this is happening..
In the connection wizard,
it asks for password n then after sometime says unable to connect

you most likely had an earlier installation, that need to be cleared
use a root file manager to remove system/liblibtitanium.so and data/app/com.keramidas.TitaniumBackup-1.odex
Thx, it works

You rooted ? You could copy to data/app with permissions and then see if it runs?

How can i do that? I was looking for some way like this to force the installation and/or do it with "more permitions"
thx!

Is anyone else having weird behaviour when making apps go full screen? Before it would work perfectly but now I've noticed in a few games it doesn't work properly (Odd screen tearing and muddled graphics are displayed).

File explorer such as es explorer (free to get in market) browse to where you have the adobe air apk and copy, browse to the /data partition (you have to go right out to the root of your phone) copy to /data/app and paste the apk, long hold, scroll to properties , then you will see a change button beside permissions , change to same as scree shot
In screenshot, then see if it works
Hit Thanks if I help

If you do not undestand, you read then. System apps are in root: system/app. Most probably your system is not deodexed, so with apk file comes one .odex file. You need to remove both before you change it with new version.

If it is on play store, just install it. No need to push in system.
It's because i dont like the default Samsung Apps and i'd like to replace them, to not waste space and whenever i do a factory reset, i'd want the apps to stay there.

Install apps, look for them in data/app. And cut it to system/app. You need root.

As I remember no. But app names are not like in system. It is something like com.something.app. And I am not sure if it will work if you just put it in system/app. Try and see if it works like that.
