I saw the stock CM10 PLAYER known as the Apollo Music Player....... And I could not find it in the store...... So my question is... Is it compatible with our device or is just CM10 exclusive?

I didn't use too much music player on JB, mostly stock. When I was on GB I liked PowerAmp (I like dark minimal, and with it I could set it up to see just seek bar + name of the song and some small things, rest of the screen was black ) And it has good equilizer.
search for "mort music player"
for me the best.
also
mort widget
mort audio books

Yep, right now i'm using it. What i like of it is that even when my phone is pattern locked, it still shows the media buttons and song name as the album art
Oh and i didn't know that could expand the notification. Lol :3 But it's very cool and free.

I don't know if you're still looking for an app to use, but I absolutely love goneMAD music player.
This is the trial of it. The unlocker costs $4, but it is by far the best, most simply designed, and feature packed. It even has native tasker support! I've been speaking with the dev and he's looking into find lyric searching and lyric viewing. I really love this app.

Which is the best music app, according to you.

I have used almost all if not all, and I always go back to playerpro. It is paid, but if you don't like to buy stuff it's on 4shared.

My favorite: MIUI Music - because of the FLAC support and the interface.
Second: Ubermusic with Metro skin. Because it looks nice and it's very functional, though it lacks FLAC support.

Hey guys, I am running the Jelly Bean rom by Maclaw and his team, Apollo never picked up the music I have stored on my SD card, Poweramp did but it was a trial so uninstalled it, I dont know why but none of my songs are showing in any music app I install.. Any suggestions? :/
Sent from my GT-S5830 using xda premium
Yeah, stop using it. There is a thread dedicated for these kind of stuff.
I didnt start this thread because of what ROM i was using, I was just wondering if anyone else had an issue like this on any other rom and if they managed to sort it.. I use my phone as my MP3 player as well as my normal phone. So music is needed on travels.
Sent from my GT-S5830 using xda premium
Appollo is still in alpha. I use PowerAmp. Never had any issues.
If you want to use your phone as an MP3 player, and you've chosen the wrong ROM.

I don't want another music app. Just a way to show up music controls

Can't you just put the music player 's widget on the lockscreen? I mean, isn't that the point of widgetlocker?

Stock music player doesn't have a widget
Sent from my GT-S5830 using xda app-developers app
It doesn't? Oh! I never used it because it's rubbish. Take the advise above and use poweramp. I know you said you don't want to but if you like and listen to music enough to put controls on your lockscreen, it will be the best $5 you ever spent (less than the cost of an album). It has it's own lockscreen as well as many, many cool features. Widget locker made my phone lag so I don't use it anymore. Cool app though.
I know this isn't the answer you wanted but it is they best solution. Try poweramp free for 14 days from the play store. If you don't think it's worth it, don't buy it.
Good luck

I use Music Folder Player - Simple, efficient with screen space, no unneeded chrome. I've got no complaints.
Only thing I wish it could do is play off an SMB share without mounting the share, with appropriate buffer sizing for playing over a network (doing it by rooting and mounting the share has skipping issues if network conditions aren't perfect... And it requires root - which i have now, but didn't have on my last phone)
