Is there any SIM unlock exploit available for the X8 like there is for the One S?

I'm not sure what you mean "exploit" but if you want to sim unlock an x8 you need paid methods
Well exploit was probably the wrong word but it mentioned in the linked thread that the method was found and exploited by others.
I know that generally I'd need to pay but after seeing that thread I thought something similar could be done with the X8.

the link didnt worked from my phone...
i checked it and there is no /dev/block/mmcblk0p6 directory, actually there is no mmcblk0p6 file...

Hey guys, so I need help in gaining root access on my phone.
I followed this guys guide to getting to rooting ( under 10 posts, but yeah I followed a youtuber by the name of Qbking77 ), and it was good!,,, Until I used 2 root checkers and they said I don't actually have root access!
Right now I have twrp installed, an unlocked bootloader, and a phone sim locked to sprint and my main goal is to unlock it for a canadian carrier and root it to run custom roms.
I'm even willing to fork out some coffee money if someone can help me out here!
Feel free to ask me questions if you need to know more about my phone, and thanks in advance guys !

Yeah, I did everything as posted in the video that I used, and he flashed it with twrp (sorry if I get the terminology wrong lol)
You may just need to go into the SuperSU/superuser app and update the binaries

Open your app drawer and find the supersu/superuser app and select it to open the app
It will tell you if the binaries need to be updated

Ok so this is what my su looks like,abd when I click that info box nothing happens...so does that mean it's good in terms of the binaries?

There is an app in the themes section but I don't think it's working on 4.3 as of yet.
There is a thread in Q&A I believe has a solution for 4.3 users

Hi ONYXis. I have no agreement with jcase, and I don't like him. The thing is there is a very high risk of brick, I don't think its a good idea. That said I know someone who will look at it and Ill let you know of course.

I could care not if you liked me or not, but you are full of it saying it has a very high risk of brick. It is down right safe. You don't know how it works, even though details have been public for many months.
If I recall correctly myself or an associate unlocked his before we started getting harassed.
His aboot is no different than the others ones, its not a patched or modified loader, and it will do no good having it.

This post is confusing because the one you link you're stating you're not able to check OEM unlocking which needs your Sim to be permanently unlocked for it not to be greyed out.

I will clarify once in not driving. But basically. The app says it's unlocked but remains OEM locked.

As I mentioned in the other thread, you have to use the app that comes on the device. The "Pixel Only" version from the Play Store will always say your device is unlocked, but it is not. That's why you were not prompted to reboot and why the option to unlock your bootloader still doesn't work, because you're not actually unlocked.
