I recently decided to a lot myself $500 to spend on myself before I resume my major saving scheme. (I save 80% of every check, right into savings account, investments, etc). But I have to let myself spend some money every now and again!
Anyways, I want to buy myself something new and fun. (I could go outside of $500 but I don't want to go to far, this is just what I have alloted myself.) I am not sure what to get myself. One million internets to the person who suggests something AWESOME!
Here are things I have, that I am not looking to replace:
- Computer
- Phone
- Audio System (both for PC and Car)
- Monitor
- Webcam
- Headphones w/Mic
- Camera
Some of my interests:
- All things nerdy
I don't watch T.V. so anything T.V. related is out. Thanks for your help!
Take it to Jack Binion's and put it all on black.
good day.
Ehemm Desire Z or the new G2 (Same thing) youll be happy
you could give it to me..... Or if you want to be greedy and spend it on yourself , then you could buy a remote control helicopter with a video camera on the front and record all types of cool stuff
Well Lets see, you could buy a projector and set it up with your game console or have a small home theater: http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B002KKCVSW/ref=dp_olp_used?ie=UTF8
Or you could get an SSD: http://www.amazon.com/Crucial-Technology-RealSSD-Solid-CTFDDAC256MAG-1G1/dp/B0039SM0B2
Considering your "not willing to replace" list, i'm pretty much out of ideas (not trying to be an asshole here, i'm seriously out of ideas )

Exactly my problem. I don't want to replace any of those things because there is pretty much nothing that can beat it.
On a side note the helicopter with camera sounds interestings and so does a projection screen. HMM.
I vote for an RC helicopter. It's one of the most fun hobbies EVAR!!
You can get quite a nice CCP for $500 but if you've never flown a below before you can get a great indoor starter for around $100. Plus if you spend $500 you wont have any budget left for replacement parts. Go for a smaller one, by the time you spend another $100 on blades you'll be a pro Look for the Esky Lama, lots and lots of fun.

There are like what almost 3,000,000 people on this forum right? Well if you all just donated one dollar to me or your pocket change for the day that you throw in on the counter everyday i could become a multi millionaire in less that an hour! Or if Bill Gates is out there and is secretly an XDA member and is feeling a little generous today his chunk change is welcome as well.

I've been thinking about that but
1. Most of these members don't logon after they downloaded something, and most of those who do dont visit off topic
2. Bill Gates probably is a member here (this forum did start with just WinMo) but I don't think he feels generous. But still, if everyone did this you would make a few thousand.
Also I'm a broke student/photographer. If you want to help me out PM me

Its easy to say there are so many members on this website and how if each members donates 1$.
But the problems is :
1. They should have online money transfer account. i.e paypal.
2. Credit card is mostly needed.
3. Amount in there account.
4. Facility to transfer money from there account to your account. If both have paypal accounts is good but if one has alertpay and other paypal. its hard to transfer.
5. 1$ is ok but in that there are fees will have to be cut.
6. Finally the donors interest and willings for donation.
So taking these into consideration, there are very less ppl. Atleast in this website, atleast I what I know, even atleast what I believe.
But the amazing fact is, how that Wikipedia got 11 million dollars.
I'm already a multi-millionaire
Sorry guys for the double post, but the developer of the popular Bang bang Racing has asked that us members here at XDA help them by posting some positive, honest comments in the Android marketplace. Recently they have been receiving one-star ratings all due to the recent price drop, which to me is really not fair considering that all developers do this and these guys have really been working hard to fix the issues that we had with this game from the first release date. negative comments can really stop people from buying games, which in turn can hurt us as the developer wont focus on a platform that is not selling their games well enough. So in short, please take a minute or two to place some positive feedback as they deserve it. And look for more great games from the developer and updates soon Xoomers!!
Yea the game is great and if it was worth it for you when you first bought it then you shouldn't be mad enough to want to rate down a developer just cause the price dropped. People need to keep in mind that they are reviewing the game as it was when they picked it up and games of this caliber are few and far between; I feel like even if you don't personally love the game, if you can appreciate what the developer is doing then you should rate up and let other people decide if the price is worth it for them. But I'm one of the few people that think that there are mobile games worth MORE than what developers charge for them.
It sucks for peeps that bought the game early at full price (me included) and the controls sucked, now that the controls are fixed and bugs fixed, the price drops half price, I think it should be the other way around.
Just my thoughts.

I agree with you!! We finally have some quality games for Android an people want to complain over price drops!! Name on developer that releases a perfect game n keeps the prices the same??
whoever complains are idiots and have so much time to waste, i bought it regular price and even though i didnt like it at first, it grew on me and i love it now, if only you can get us some controls like death rally that would be great.and yes, most developers drop prices after couple of weeks, for a limited time.

Good idea on the ccontrols, I will suggest that one. The tighter controls really make the game much more fun, I can now come in at first place most of the time.

I agree that it sucks; but decisions are made before the game comes out but the real world situation is constantly changing. They decided after a while to add control options and lower the price to entice new people to purchase the game and for this people who initially bought it are getting upset because they feel they were cheated? it's not like the developer tried to screw anybody and I don't think they deserve a bad rating because of this. If you really have issues then just contact the developer directly; but to rate the game down and therefore tell others who don't bother reading the reviews but just look at the stars the game isn't worth buying is silly. The devs are just lucky that overall the game has good reviews.
This is almost like getting upset that I can score a better deal on a new Xoom right now then those who bought it on day one, and mine would come with HC 3.1 which makes it better then when it first came out....
That doesnt make sense....

It doesn't at all..The developer is now as we speak preparing updates to this game, they want to keep the game fresh n exciting for us. How many Android developers do we have that give us this type of support, especially when the game hasn't sold well? They have been really great an to suffer in sales due to immature ratings is not just bad for them, but bad for us also...we need to show support for developers who deliver quality which the Android platform needs

This is an attempt to count the Sales of phones Google sold on day one. Lets face it, a good percentage of people who ordered this phone browse these forums......So if you ordered 2 or 3 lets count those as well. All countries included....
How many phones did you buy?
Also if you are one of the ones reselling on Ebay, lets NOT count those....you don't need to identify yourself of course, just remain silent...... So we can add roughly 280 for those......
There's already a thread.
Only 2% of all those that buy nexus use xda lol...but ok 1
I only bought 1 for myself. The profit margin here from reselling does not seem worth it to me for the time and hassle of reselling. Plus I hate wanting something so bad but it being sold out cause of resellers.

I honeslty have no clue as to the percentage, but I would think it would be a lot higher than 2% I would guess as much as 60-70% (this purely an UN-educated guess.....and based on the 7-800 pages of "did you get one?" thread.....)

Hello guys,
recently I was given an offer from a company, which wanted me to sell them my application - Air Swiper.
Now I wonder, what do you guys think the price for the app should be set to?
What could be its real price in your eyes? That is what I would like to know.
What are your opinions? I am really curious about it and I would really like to discuss it with you. I would even like to ask you guys, is the app worth selling or should I keep it?
I am a total beginner in selling things like these and thought, people on XDA could have some idea.
Please be honest and share you thoughts.

Cant say I've seen the app but intellectual property is difficult to t a price too unless you have sales figures. I would invest some time in looking at the company looking to buy your app to gauge what kind of offer they may be willing to pay, in addition ask yourself does you app have multiple uses can it be applied to other uses ect... and work from there.

Well I was thinking about what you have said. And.. the first thing is the price they offer is 2500 USD, which from what I was discussing is probably a good one. And my app can be applied to a lots of uses or at least I think so.

More uses means more money.
They want your app at 2500, first offer. Why not counter with 3500 and if the balk then meet half way at 3000. You just picked up an extra car payment. You get the idea?
They want maximally those 2500 so I am curious if I am not going into a fail, because a lot of people told me that it is a low offer.
