Hi, Just new here, I have unlocked the boot loader on my RAZR I today and am planning on rooting tonight using the root tool that can be found on here, I am just wondering, would I be able to flash a different system version such as orange.gb as I am on retail.gb and then get the jelly bean update? Or is it able to flash jelly bean to my device upon rooting? I'm new to this and don't wanna wreck my phone lol Cheers to anyone that can help

No one kind enough to Help Me?
guys is it possible to root xperia t with 4.3 with flashtool? will it work? and this will not give problems right? hope someone replies
I've tried using 0.9.14, but didn't succeed.
I'm very keen on hearing how to root it (without unlocking BL).
The current official version for the carrier is 4.0.2 with firmware V10f.
I followed RadGasm's instructions over here in order to downgrade to V10c and thehn I used Bin4ry's method to gain root.
What are the next steps after this? I wanted to install one of the KitKat ROMs available for the phone, but when I installed CWM and attempted to flash and boot into recovery the phone soft-bricked, displaying the LGE_Security "unrecoverable boot loader error". I solved this by flashing back to V10c.
Does firmware or carrier matter when upgrading to a newer version of Android? Did I just get unlucky with CWM? I'd like to keep trying but with some guidance, because all these wasted procedures are getting to be quite annoying and time-consuming...
EDIT: so I gather Jelly Bean needs to be installed first? Can't figure out a way to do that...
Canadian p880 can't have jellybean, and thus cant have unlocked bootloader and custom roms. Sorry
edit:
some more info since this was written from my phone - canadian optimus 4x is actually branded p880g, and the firmwares for p880 simply can't be flashed. thus, the latest available version is ICS, unfortunately

That's unfortunate. I don't know about the versions for other countries, but my phone is an incredible piece of junk. It overheats, slows down over time, glitches, and drains the battery in record time. I was hoping new software might fix some of the issues.
WIND doesn't even offer this phone anymore... I'm a sucker for not having returned it within the first week.
Thanks for your reply!
Hi guys,
as I am facing severe bluetooth connectivity problems since updating my Razr i to Stock 4.4.2, I am now trying to downgrade the Phone back to Jelly bean. The Bootloader is unlocked - is there any way to downgrade from KitKat without bricking the device?
I could also imagine trying one of the KitKat custom ROMs out here - but since the update I am unable to boot my phone into recovery (tried lebobo recovery flasher with latest version of TWRP, installation looks fine but launching recovery doesnt work :-/)
Any help on solving my problems is appreciated !
The best way is yo downgrade manually then.
See here http://forum.xda-developers.com/razr-i/general/index-razr-t2832722
And go to section "J". Than manually downgrade the version.
Hello everyone! The reason why im asking this is because i want to go back to stock firmware but im afraid of bricking my phonw since im not very experienced. So i wanted to know if anyone had a backup of the system and boot image in the version 4.2.2 or 4.4.4 that you could create which you wouldnt mind sharing. Thanks for your help!
Nobody...?
Hey, I have a mostly untouched 4.2.2 (only rooted) that I plan on updating to 5.1, and I was thinking of making a backup before. PM me in a couple of days to remind me.

Brick alert ! DO NOT DOWNGRADE !
Instead flash a stock based ROM like krypton that doesn't modify your boot loader .
