If you then still get this error then you need remove your Google account from device (delete). Reboot. And add same account again. Reboot. Now try PlayStore. With this you dont loose any your information if you before backed up to Google account. If you need i can give complete step by step instruction.

In that case, I still have the issue. I already tried one of the gapps-jb from goo. Would a package with a different release date not work?

Certainly. Try this, which one noted leapinlar - gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip
If still have problems, then i know what to do. Of course, if you attempted google account remove too.

As I thought. Alright thanks a lot, man.

try reflashing google play for android 4.1
its best to get the ones from the gapps wiki
make sure its the one that supports android 4.1 and 4.1.1 and 4.1.2, not the ones that support 4.2 or 4.2.1

[PORT of sort] ASUS Transformer Browser

Hey folks, this is my first time messing around with apks so I thought I'd share this.
After playing around with my mother's Transformer I became rather fond of the thumb scroller in the browser so I've taken it for myself.
Anyways, I know its not much but its a nice accessory to the browser - especially when up against long pages.
Be sure to keep copy your current browser in a safe place should something happen.
Here's the link
http://www.mediafire.com/?110eabgnidd9bdc
just installed this - working fine, and I like the thumb browser.
I have lost all my browser favourites.... which for some odd reason won't sync themselves back....
other than that, perfect.
That's odd, that was the first thing I double checked as I didn't want to lose my bookmarks. Being a Google sync thing I didn't think that should happen at all.
This Browser is pretty fast. Works fine here too, also no issues with my bookmarks! Thanks
Do we have to be rooted? Or can we just install the apk?

No, you just have to have to have "Allow installation of non-Market apps" checked in the Securities tab in Settings.

Can you also get a hold of the framework folder?
Unfortunately, rubio, I'm not sure but looking it up I've found that if the name of the apk has changed that could cause it so make sure it says "browser.apk" and if you are installing it from your SD card make sure it's installing from the internal memory. I hope that helps.

[Q] Can't install Foursquare in CM 7.2. Fix?

Yesterday I flashed CM 7.2 (latest nightly build) in my Galaxy Mini. Everything's running perfect, except for Foursquare app, which I had earlier and can't install now. Market says it's incompatible with the phone (it obviously isn't); doesn't appear when searching for it through Google Play.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
PD: Hello everyone, I'm new to the forums Greetings from Chile.

[Q] Decompiling systemui.apk

Is that safe on SD CM10.1? I never had a boot from SD device before nor have I have I gone through the trouble to do this as ROM Toolbox usually satisfied my transparent status bar needs but that caused a no boot situation for me on the Nook HD.

I'll try reinstalling and going through it again
Over the years I've found that just spending a night full of rage and occasional weeping usually ends up fixing my phone/tablet problems.

To do SystemUI you need to setup framework-res in the setup first. It uses it to help decompile. Read the instructions.

Apktool is the old version of the tool. You need APK-Multi-Toolv1.0.10 or higher. Search the web for it. The old tool bombs out too often on the newer Android versions.

Frustrated with Nook HD

Hi.
I am very angry and frustrated with my Nook HD. It's because even though it now has Google Play store some apps ares till not compatible (like Instagram) and the device is somehow "locked" so one cannot install .apk files to it.
Is there a workaround to this without rooting the device? Or is rooting the only way? Is it easy to root as i haven't done it before.
Please advice.
Thank you,
You do not have to root it. Just go to my HD/HD+ CWM thread linked in my signature and make a bootable CWM SD and flash my extras zip. It enables unknown sources so that you can install other apks.

Yes, Instagram does need a camera, which is why the app will not work with the Nook, whether you can sideload it or not - the Nook has no camera.

Contacting someone who is a developer for CM11 for the Nook HD+

CM 11 (recent nightlies) for my Nook HD+ and several other older devices, uses the libaudiohw_legacy which does not include audio.r_submix.default.so for the product_package in the .mk file. A new App (XDA Hardware Hacking>Google Chromecast>[EXPERIMENTAL] Enable Mirroring from any device) adds a new name to the database file for the Google Play services /data/data/com.google.android.gsf/databases/gservices.db "gms:cast:mirroring_enabled". This brings up the screen casting menu and all the options successfully on the Nook HD+. Unfortunately, in the ROM versions using libaudiohw_legacy where there is no included audio.r_submix.default.so in the product_packages in the .mk file, this causes a Google Play Services forced close. Those who have the knowhow and technical ability to compile and add this in themselves can make this work, even in an older Nook Color, so it is not a hardware issue. I do not have the required ability to do so, and as per the above mentioned thread would like to get this info to the developers so that they could consider making this modification. I believe not only users of the Nook HD+, but others with the same limitations would tremendously enjoy screencasting from their Android devices and that this change would be a tremendous positive. I have no idea how to or who to make this suggestion / plea. If anyone can either forward this message to an appropriate person or give me a correct name, route, or mechanism to do so, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
I changed the required file and created an unnofficial build.
If youŕe insterested you can download it here: cm-11-20140725-UNOFFICIAL-ovation.zip

I installed and ran it, needed a few reboots but it works well with less than a second lag! This is fantastic -- I can view any movie in any format, including AVI and others not natively supported by Chromecast by simply screen casting a player app that supports that video format while it is running the movie! Thank you so much! If we could only get the fix into the main production so that anyone and everyone could enjoy this!
Screen mirroring flawless, some sound issues with some AVI's, not others, no problems with MP4's, likely format issues. Doesn't want to keep permanent changes, need to play with app and reboots several times to get it running, pick it up several hours later and you have to do it all over again.

I really thank you for this build. There is one little problem. I have 2 Nook Hd+ tablets and this changes the mac address to the same on both. Any Ideas? This creates a problem on network. I have already tried some mac changers from google play but they do not work.
Do we have to then stay on this build for cast to work?

You can try this:
Go to /system/etc/firmware/ti-connectivity and delete wl1271-nvs.bin on one of the devices. Then reboot. It will rebuild the file with the correct MAC Address.
But I don't know if the app will change it back or if you will lose the effect.

Sorry, I can't fix anything because I'm not a developer. I just compiled that build in order to make mirroring working. It should be the same as official cm11, I just added one line to one file to make it working. I think leapinlar advice should work. Try removing from both tablets.

I sent a pull request via github. Don't know if they will merge or not. I will take a look at your suggestion later. Thanks.
If you want to update your Nook to official nightlies, you can flash this file http://d-h.st/Nmb after flashing a new build so you'll have mirroring working with cm11 official build. This is an workaround until it gets merged.
