Sorry for like, my 3rd thread in a few days.
Basically, I use my INC S for a lot of stuff, Music etc. and it barely gets me through the day.
How can I use apps like Set CPU, Oc/uv beater and such to gain better battery life, and what are the Exact settings for them?
Also, is there anything else that can help with battery?

Well the first thing you could do would be to go to cm7 and flash the tiamat kernel for better battery life.

I'd say find out what's eating the battery...I'm using my Inc S frequently (at least e-mails and browsing every hour) and I get at least 2 days out of 1 charge.
Try disabling any live wallpapers, any widgets, any applications running in the background (like yahoo messenger, facebook, msn, etc) and don't use any task killer/juice defender...
When checking the battery usage, I see the phone going in deep sleep regularly (which is essential for good battery life) and I'm loosing about 6-7% over the night, with BT, Wifi always on and email with push.
Ohh and I'm on the latest stock Optus Australia Rom, Hboot 1.16.000.
I think it's just general use. Using the browser a bit, I don't have much things updating in the background and such.
@incrediblealex I got a HTC For sense, I don't want to go to CM7 without sense
I'll go cynaogeon when ICS Come's out probably

Do this and also flash Nikhils trinity sensationXL ROM, found in the development section. Just brought out an updated version and its sense 3.5 so, if u like sense which I do, u won't look back. There is no Smoothass setting when I install it.
Is there no simple settings I can use? or what are the exact settings for it?
U using ov/uv beater2 v1.7 yes? To be honest settings are personal preference, but what works for me is wake min 230400 wake max 1228800, sleep min 230400 sleep max 691200. Google it to find out more about CPU settings.

Well mine has finally made it through the day without a charge!! Thanks to the Incredible 2 extended battery (fits the S perfectly and I'm sure the signal and wifi have got stronger), and still 30% left. Finally I've got a phone that I'm not scared to use without being near a socket......

Sent from my Incredible S
I'm using the official HTC Incredible 2 extended battery and back, 2150mAh, in my S. I think it's only available in the US, it's on the HTC site. There are a few sites I found that sell it and ship internationally but I got it from eBay, seller best_deal_today. Took about a week to deliver to the UK.

Question: CPU O/C to 800MHz...isn't that risky, the hardware O/C at 768MHz gets unstable, so how will battery/stability be affected by such a high clock speed...also anyone know how hot it runs at 800MHz?
can you add savagedzen governor?

I was thinking the same thing.
My phone crashes at 768MHz
Also, could you possibly enable undervolting?
(Can the Wildfire even BE undervolted?)

I thought about this, depending on your device (some have more kick than others) you might be able to get this high, I did this because I have seen phones with 1GHz processors overclocked to 2GHz.
If you are stable at 768, you could try higher, but it is your choice.

You will have to use a lower frequency then, I can't go any higher than 691MHz without crashes, but some people are fine on 768.
I am not sure about undervolting though.
I'm running stable at 710MHz, didn't try anything between 710 and 768 tho.
thanks for savagedzen.... it work?

Yeah likewise, I am stable and very few if any system FCs at 728 MHz...so theoretically you can add near 80% more CPU speed with the right governor? Haha wishful thinking I know but imagine the Wildfire at 810+ :]

Yeah, I am going to put the CPU max speed back down to 768, and add some more governors.
I think 800MHz is a bit crazy, 768 is good.
Does anyone know how to do an update.zip? I have an idea to make a script that fetches the kernel and wifi module, then shoves it in a zip with an updater script and binary.
Currently looking at CM7 updater script in the zip to try and learn how to do these things.

With the right CPU governor, you should be okay at 768, maybe you could have 778?
To make things clear, at 768 MHz wildfire doesn't crash at any app except games, when you play for 2 or more hours it simply reboots. At 748 MHz it behaves the same. It's fully stable at 729 MHz, so 800 MHz it's unreal

Is that just from your experience or have you actually tested every single wildfire ever produced, I have 2 wildfires and both run perfectly fine and stable at 768, would also probably run just as well above this and have never rebooted on me after playing games continuously for a lot more than 2hours.
And just to make things clear some people cannot use the phone at 729 as it unstable and freezes.

KERNEL-v2 FINAL BEAST

ADDED 4 NEW SPEED TO CORES KERNEL, NO MODULES NEEDED.

-400 MHz
-1100 MHz
-1200 MHz
THESE WOULD BE ALL THE SPEED.
100

1008
1100
1200
1300
- THE new kernel.
Native band to Att.
Fixed WIFI reboots on some processors.
More speed in the first wifi connection.
Added more speed in the I / O
Repaired animations load the phone off (you do not know the gigs that I have taken this minutia)
Fixed consumption at all frequencies.
Added mine changes in CPU
Added changes in GPU.
Added hundreds of small changes in all the libraries ...
And a thousand things more

http://min.us/mhAvaokSW
[kernel]Final Kernel Beast 2 ( 1,2) 04/05/12
http://min.us/mbiSQczDwP
Acura 2201
This is the kernel to save power.
Speed is 1.3 and carries the termination LV referring to Low Voltage. Heh hehe me and my names.
If you have problems of fouling or Bluetooth does not work this kernel is not for you.
The voltages to the 800MHz band is very low. All for the low of 1.0.
And the maximum of 1,376 reduced to 1.35.
The GPU also has been lowered from 1.2 1.5
Telephone signal but also affect the power or signal reception. It is only during the call.
With these settings the battery increases the duration much. Without more testing time I can not give a figure, but in normal use can reach 15 hours without problems. That in mine never step 8. Very very lucky.
Now you tell me that this will go.

luv the hotplug
I love the hotplug gov. This phone is smooth as hell..I'm coming from an atrix that I had to give my wife as she didn't like the size and was scared by the 3d on this thrill. So im used to a fast phone and although it test out about the same as atrix it seems to run a lot smother and very glitch free. This hotplug gov seems to due a great job of controlling the cpu speed needed for battery life and functionality. Also rom toolbox works great for tweeking the memory and kernel settings among other things...awsome program I highly recommended it for this phone.

Hi,
I personally tried to install an overclocked kernel on my touchpad (CM9, last nighly) and it worked successfully, but I can't get my WiFi working since I flashed it. I had to perform a full wipe and to reinstall the last Nightly.

Same with my wifi I flashed a few. All negative results. My wifi didn't work and considering 3g is sooooooo slow on the touchpad. Lol. Really slow like 0 mbps lol.

Haha... but seriously...
Just lower your clock speeds. Typically, the lower the MHz the lower the voltage. Some steppings will draw the same current so you'll have to see what works best for you.

in systemtuner under the settings menu you can choose force all cpu's online. you can set it to on boot completed or you can set it to modify the init.d script to force them both online even before android is finished booting.

You should really consider clocking up to at least 1400 you'll notice a huge difference as long as your rom/kernel is stable at higher speeds. If your scared of overheating you can set a profile to change your clock settings once it reaches a certain temp.

But... It's smooth as it is just a question, why do you overclock? For games, or for smoothness in the os? Because I have a Nexus 7 for games and everything, I don't need a super powered phone. Even my N7 is usually underclocked
Another reason I don't overclock is because my phone is unstable at higher frequencies with my voltage settings. If I raise the voltages it will use more battery :/
But they said, I am setting my phone to 1.2GHz now to try
