What headphones do you use with your Nexus 7? - Nexus 7 General

Hey everyone. I'm just wondering what headphones/earphones/ear buds/ whatever you call them, you use.
I currently use some old apple earphones I found in my house, and I'm wondering which headphones others use, and if anyone can suggest some too.
Thanks!

Head-fi.org is your friend, I still use pre-logitech ultimate ears buds, but cannot recommend them these days as quality has definitely declined. I would also stay well away from beats, Bose and any other sold in big box stores phones that are north of $100 as you can do much better for the same money with better brands. That said get on headfi and see what they recommend for the music you listen to/where and how you listen. Good luck with it!

I wouldn't subject my poor ears to the Tegra DAC... That's just cruel.
If I was it would be on my ATH-M50sLE though. Cheap but good. Gets a bad rap for its popularity though.

I use a pair of MDR EX-10's between my phone and tablet. The quality is good, and for the price its a steal.

I agree with the post who mentioned head-fi although it is a big audiophile community there are a ton of suggestions they can give well within whatever budget your shopping in.

None. I have a kickass pair of bluetooth headphones that I use with my android phone. But since google destroyed bluetooth audio playback a few months ago on the nexus 7, I can't use those headphones with the tablet.

Ultimate Ears tf-10 custom remolds, the wire amp.

I usually use my Panasonic RP-HT46 headphones.I like these because they fold up and have an angles plug. I have had them so long, the foam deteriorated, so I bought a pair of super cheap Sanyo's just to use the foam. Sometimes I will use my Sony mdre9lp ear buds, but I usually use these for running.
Jim

I use a pair of maxell (I think that's the name) earbuds that I got from OfficeDepot. Not bad for $5. Got my mom a pair too.

What's your budget? Check out this thread from head-fi forums (http://www.head-fi.org/forum/thread...beyerdynamic-dtx-71-ie-dtx-101-ie-added-05-20) All the reviews are sorted out by price range. The best headphones I've used are Monster Turbine Pros and Klipsch Image S4s which are both in the under $200 category. Don't fall for the hype and stay away from Beats.
I use Bose MIE2 phones, nothing quite like it as I hate the ones that go inside your ear canal. Price 80 quid.
If you have the cash, the Sennheiser MM450 and MM550 are pretty much top of the line for bluetooth sets, and for IEMs I've found that most Ultimate Ears sets give me the sound I want (though they can get pricey for more professional models), but the mic doesn't work all the time for some reason. For example, they work with my girlfriend's IncS with a stock Froyo setup but not with mine running CM7.

they're loud and have nice bass + a mic fully working on the Incredible S. Also comes with a case.

What Headphones/Earbuds do you use?

Everyone here will have their own opinions on which they would prefer, so I am not asking that because everyone listens music in their own way. So what do you use?
Personally I have used my V-Moda Crossfades LPs on my recent trip to NY. Well actually my 4 year old did watching Lorax on my N7 lol. But I tested out the volume before popping them in of course, but what I did hear was a clear dialog. From Dallas to NY she watched the entire movie using the V-Moda Crossfade LPs.
The crossfades are my fav headsets altogether for all different types of music and movies I watch on my different devices including the Nexus 7.

My work earbuds which I use on the Nexus and Sensation at times is the mid range earbuds-Shure SE215. Bottom line, great sound when you have a good seal but because I wear glasses, they tend to interfere with them but it's not too bad. Sorry, I didn't do a review on this one. Not sure why, but they are a very good pair of earbuds.
Last and not least, iBeats headphones that came with the Sensation XE's. Not a horrible earbud, very muddy but very bass heavy. Not my cup of tea but works without issues.
Honorable mention: Sony Ericsson MW600. Bluetooth stereo headphones. With this, you can use any of the above headphones/earbuds in this unit. Pair it to your device, in this case, a Nexus 7 and viola...track and volume controls (to an extent) included.
Currently I'm using Audio Technica ATH-CKM500...
Previously I was using Ultimate Ears MetroFi 170.
I use Philips O'Neill The Stretch, which imo are pretty good for $35. These are the first headphones that have real bass, and I'd recommend them to anyone. Then again I really haven't used any other real headphones, so I can't really compare.

You have a TON of headphones/ear buds. I have one pair of ****ty ear buds from Phillips and a pair of Sony MDR-V700's that I've had for 6-7 years (only needed to replace the muffs). I'm not huge on this new fad of having multiple hundred dollar each headphones.

Be it a fad or whatever you call it, "I" personally wanted to see what are available at a mid range price. A few hundred is the "retail" price of my 'collection'. I personally never pay retail :silly: .
So I decided I wanted to test out a few of these guys out. I mean I can't really sell earbuds back on ebay...well I can, but I feel weird selling earbuds that already have been stuck in my ear lol.

Sony MW1 bluetooth with supplied headphones or my Grado SR60i (I challenge anyone to find a better pair of over the ear headphones for the price). The Sony headphones that come with the smart headset are very good, I was extremely surprised by this. I have used their earbuds for years.

I'd be interested to know other suggestions as well.
I have narrowed down my search to only devices that support aptX bluetooth codec. Since our phones support it, it seems like a waste to not use it. Unfortunately, the Jambox and Big Jambox do not. I'm sure they still sound good, but I really want to take advantage of aptX.
Currently, my top choice is the soundmatters foxL v2. Runner up: Braven 650

Good Quality sound = money.
I've got the original jambox and recommend it. I've paired and head the soundlink and would say the same - very very crisp good sound.
if you want loud + portable and good sound, the soundfreaq kick is a bargain around 100 bucks
beyond that, the logitech pure-fi (i have two), originally made for idevice docking is a really good sounding bar, rechargable and has aux in; i use it with a paired hs3000 and basically, everything i own is bluetooth.
goodluck! post up if you buy something!

After I did some extended research on internet and in the stores I have decided on Jabra Solemate (link)
GREAT SOUND ( I mean REALLY great and loud), better than monster, bose, etc
4 speakers
battery lasts like 10h
easy up to 4 devices can connect over BT
can connect to computers via USB and mini jack (works with phone as well)
the cover is a unique feature (let's the sound out undistorted, but the water / dust out)
very stable on any surface.
has a mic so you can use it as a conference device
CON
sometimes BT connection with my MacBook Pro is drooping (no clues why). It did not happened with the phone
I have the white version
