Hello everyone, I am terribly sorry to make this post since after scouring this page Ive seen alot of either unanswered questions or members upset with noobs for posting in the wrong place.
Sooo i'm gonna give everyone my run down and hope someone can walk me through this.
I bought my Motorola Droid Bionic Used and Rooted. I unrooted it to take into Verizion due to media file and battery issues. Afterwords I attempted to understand the "simple step by step" rooting process. Somehow I messed up somewhere and now have the Bionic Eclipse ICS v1.3 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1965305 running on my phone but unrooted. I have everything backed up through Titanium Back up. Can someone please help me with my lack of "su code" issue. I have spent the last 6 hrs trying to figure out where I went wrong working with Motofail and Petes motorola root tools.
Please feel free to pm or email me.
Sincerely,
Ethan S.

Hey everyone,
I recently rooted my moto droid and was wondering now that I have done this can I drop 1.5 or any other OS on there that I choose? Also, if that is possible can someone post a link or tell me how to go about doing this. That being said, I was also wondering if there is a way to easily switch between android versions for development.
Thanks for your time and help,
Tommy
Here is a link to droidforums. It has links to most rooted Tom's for Droid.

You can also try other sites like alldroid.org, phandroid. The developers site which is "xda" and "sdx". There are many others so just search around they all have forums for different devices for this information. One of the most helpful I've found for noobs was unlocked.com. give it a try.

Look-up RomManager in the marketplace if you will be moving between versions alot, it handles these changes very well.
As to going to previous versions I can not say for sure. In theory yes but you will ether have to find a pre-made Droid rom or build it yourself.
Thanks!
Thank you both for the replies and information. I will continue my research and see what I can dig up. Hopefully I can find a 1.5 rom as building it myself is a little out of my ability right now.
Yes rom manager would be a good idea forgot to mention it. It works great for switching roms I just have a little problem with mount sdcard in clockworkmod recovery so mine will reboot after entering recovery and rom manager doesn't help some times but it seems to work great for most devices. My problem is I have to reformat sdcard because I came from Eris and I don't want to till I can get a computer to backup info on it.

During some testing while working on 2nd init, we came across a problem that can only be fixed by someone who has NEVER rooted their DROID 3 before. Even if you unrooted, the signature changes and that doesn't help me.
If you have never rooted your DROID 3, are comfortable with ADB (or comfortable enough to be given some commands to run in ADB), and doesn't mind giving me some time to help, please contact me via PM or in #krazyk (IRC Freenode).
Thanks in advance!
Oh **** this sounds good.

I'm in Australia, but I have one unlocked and never rooted. ADB is no problems. Happy to help after work tonight
Unfortunately this method would not work, so I have a replacement phone being sent.
Thanks to everyone who replied!
Let me know if you need anything else mate, the Droid is not my primary phone so is 'semi-expendable'. I am happy to test stuff for you.
EDIT: I will keep it in its present state also.

Don't ask me why they don't have it in the Droid Bionic section because that part doesn't make sense. For some reason, they put it in Android Development and Hacking/Android Software and Hacking General.

mods sorry for the now needless post lol my bad
trying to root my recently updated bionic and seem to be running into trouble where guides are concerned, i was pretty good at rooting and flashing my eris left and right but when i got my bionic some time ago it was such a new phone i didnt see the point in rooting it right away. Now the time has come where im eager to unlock the phones most valuable features and i cannot for the life of me find a guide concerning bionics that have been recently updated by verizon. if anyone at all can post a link where i can find one of these mythical guides or post one telling me how to get my phone to a version that is rootable i would be extremely appreciative.
It's right there in the General section.
