Ok so my battery has been acting up lately and I'm not sure if its worth restoring my phone over so I can have Att look at it. Here are my batt. Stats. I had airplane mode on for 7h or so when I was at school, and at 3:30 I had 64%. Didn't play any games mostly browsing over lte and WiFi. I had 2h screen on.

Gsam battery monitor...
Better battery stats
Sent from my Vivid 4G using Tapatalk 2
Already did better battery stats. Wake locks seem normal, other than Google play services trying to keep CPU awake all the time...
Sent from my Vivid 4G using Tapatalk 2
That shouldn't be...

Ik.. out of the 1day I've had this thing on, Google play services has kept it from going to deep sleep for 7 hours..

Wipe data for play services?
Reflash?

Before the battery drains begins, i've used only browser for 2 minutes
Check if you have any auto-refreshing app.

Lmao.
Gnex = Cellular modem lol
Poor Gnex. I still use mine though but not as much. The N7 for emails, Gtalk, XDA, and internet. Really saves my Gnex from dying so soon.

Does Tablet Talk consume much battery on the phone and tablet?
I don't think so at all, but I'll double check today. I don't get a ton of texts and it operates over bluetooth so I wouldn't imagine it is much of a drain.
My photon has been downgraded to a wifi hotspot for my 7. Its been very neglected

LOL, n7's battery is very impressive. It stays alive for a long time after I hook it up with WiFi.

My GSM GNex is getting no love since the N7 arrived...
Same here, my Gnex only saw 12 min of screen on time lol. Gotta love tablet talk!!!

Is this just a. 232 issue? I'm guessing official OTA will be better? See screenshot:

The screen eats up the battery like nothing else, and it looks like during most of your battery drain, you had it on. Make sure you don't have the brightness set high, or even just set to minimum is plenty bright most of the time.
Thanks I will adjust my settings.

. 223 leak.... Same issue.
I have battery issues on 223 leak. Says android Os uses more battery than the screen... That is scary. Any ideas why?
In my case I have the "Bionic on tmobile" GSM/HSDPA hack activated and the signal is very weak (apparently this issue is only on ICS ROMs and not GB ROMs). The struggle to find a good signal drains my battery a lot even when the screen is off. When the signal is on, it shows up as "Android OS" using more battery than the screen. I find myself more often using airplane mode to conserve.
How do I prevent Google's Messaging Service from auto-restarting?
See pics:
1. Google Services is the biggest battery hog in my Tablet:

2. My Nexus 7 that could once sleep for 13 days now barely lasts 3 days:
3. I manually stopped Google Services here (and also the Messaging Service component) 3 days ago, to enable the device to deep sleep:
4. Messaging Service somehow restarted itself, and is running and keeping the Nexus 7 awake 24/7, draining the battery:

You'll need to acres the issue with whatever app is using it, whether it be Hangouts or something else with push notifications.

Google services are so deeply integrated in JB that it is more efficient to let them run than to try to stop them...
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
Get Greenify and try to "greenify" those services. I just did it on my One XL and so far so good.

I did some more analysis.
Why is Google's PowerManagerService and SystemUpdateService not allowing my Nexus 7 to go to sleep?
Is it because I refuse to accept this terrible "update"?

The N5 is rooted, the chromecast, not. Although "Chromecast (beta)" did appear in Settings - Display - Screen Case once yesterday - it has not appeared there since. Dunno what is going on...

Yeah apparently a rooted chromecast is required at this point.
