4599 @ 1024MHz CM7. Amazingly smooth.
EDIT: 5026 @ 1024 CM10 2/17 Build.

wow better than i thought.
6288 W/ DBK 3.0 1612 max 368 min fantasy gov sio scheduler.

For Mine on REMICS Jb, and Demonsblood 3.0:
1024 max/368 min, Fantasy, row, scored 4940 - decent, a battery saving combo, but I can get over 10 hrs from the 1401 clock speed, so it doesn't matter
1401 max/368 min, Fantasy, row, scored 5553 - Daily driver combo - runs GTA Vice City Smoothly at 20% graphics, medium effects, and 20% draw distance
1612 max/368 min, Fantasy, row, scored 6152 - No Remarks
1804 max/368 min, Fantasy, row, scored FREEZES

What is your OC result?

What is your stable OC frequency?
I'm curious, because we can see kernels supporting up to 1600Mhz and in other hand I can see my device not working on 1200Mhz
i have been running @ 1.4ghz stable but no luck with 1500 and 1600...
I've been running at 1.6GHz on the Captivate for the past 2 weeks.
voltages are 50/50/0/50/0/0/0/50/50/0/0/0/0/0.
StabilityTest completed 36 passes, reaching a max temp of 42C and receiving 0 errors. Using Setiron's SuperOptomized 1.5.4 XT Kernel / personal JK3 build.
Battery life is better than expected, but could use some improvement! But, running .6GHz faster than the specified frequency, I guess i have no room to talk.
i dont overclock, find it too unstable
This isn't dev...
XAN for me with laststufo stable at 1.3Ghz max OC with -175mV or -200mV
1200mhz only can work for me within 10 minutes before it freezes
1120mhz works perfect
1.2Ghz stable using Trasig's Advanced Voodoo 5.
where is raspdeep? will there be anymore oc kernel from him?
where can I find Setiron's kernel please?
international SGS I9000 16gb version
currently stable @ 1.4Mhz working on darkys latest rom with SO latest 4_5_1
pretty stable and fast, best experiance with the deadline scheduler, jfs+ext2 binds on Lagfix
best setup till now with quadrant scores not below 2100 (usually 2300-2500)
1.5 is possible but not as stable as 1.4 and 1.6 is impossible
current Voltage settings are: -175 -175 -175 -175 -25 -25 -50 -50 -50 -50 -75 -75 -75 with 1.4 set on boot
noticed a stutter like lag every 1 sec interval with any voltage above -175 on 1.4Mhz
hmm...

any luck with 1.5??
ive manged to run linpack on 1.5ghz got 24.69 lol
1500mhz -125mv with deadline scheduler... freezes on quadrant or if opened any app...
1.4 is rock stable!!!

same here linpack works on 1.5 but unfortunately not stable for daily use (scored 22.something-Avg of 3 tests)
quadrant gets to I/O and freeze there @ 1.5
simply stick with 1.4 since the phone is happy with it, unless theres more work done for the other freqs regarding stability, im sure we'll get there since long back 1.4 was available but totally not stable and now its working flawlessly, just keep an eye out ^_^
BIG thanks goes to all the devs working on all the lagfixes/OCing/Stability/Kernals/Roms etc etc etc.....
But, how are guys undervolting? Thats the issue right?

XAN's voltage app , check it out in the dev section
I know...I meant which UV values according (stability, etc)
I can OV no probs, but undervolting is tricky
Nice OC results ppl!
I'll post mine...
1.6Ghz on the Captivate is for real ? I heard its not even performing any faster than a 1Ghz international SGS.
That's right.....I think all this overclocking is irrelevant.
Finding the right balance between overclocking and undervolting, keeping system stable with good battery performance, that's the thing
Comparing OC and benchmarks, is kinda childish really:

[POLL] Overclocking, How far does you galaxy Go and S stay stable? without rebooting

How far is your Galaxy s stable?
mine just hits the 1.1GHZ, beyond that only crashes no matter which voltage i Use. please Use the poll so we have a good picture of what the average galaxy s is capable of..
also comment which version of SGS you are using and 8gb/ 16 Gb etc..
i9000m
PS this thread should be moved to General
had mine at 1.54ghz running MIUI with tk glitch kernel.
was amazingly fast, but my phone got hot quick, i dont like OC'ing i feel it may do more harm than good in the long run.
others may and will disagree but thats my opinion on it
Mine with 1.3GHz OC and some Undervolt is perfectly stable.....

Agree with the chef ...
Although I can overclock to 1540MHz it does get hot and Im sure it will do damage in time ..
1300MHz is a great overclock ...
It will be interesting to see what my SGS 2 can be safely overclocked to
1.2 GHz seems ok for me - with UV
Doesn't really get hot.
Running mine @ 1440 MHz with MIUI but i think I can go higher if I want . I have the 8 GB version
1.3 and very stable and with great performance both q score caffiene mark and in daily use
Which voltage are you using?
Mine seems to freeze on voltages above the 1.3V,
above the 1.2 GHZ always freezes. I,m using darkeys 9.5 Rom.
someone some advice which rom is the best for OC, (just for benchmarking) for once.

Mine can handle up to 1.3-1.4ghz
Im getting stable speeds of 1.7ghz. Im on watercooling though..

1.4ghz is my max for full stability. 1.5ghz works fine (no reboots), but the CPU occasionally gives an invalid result during calculations, e.g. during benchmarks like linpack, results can sometimes be inaccurate; 1.44ghz also seemed to work, but I picked 1.4ghz max for longevity/reliability.
UV Values are:
100mhz - 200mV UV (750mV)
200mhz - 150mV UV (800mV)
400mhz - 100mV UV (950mV)
800mhz - 75mV UV (1125mV)
1ghz - 50mV UV (1200mV)
1.2ghz - 50mV UV (1300mV)
1.3ghz - 0mv UV (1400mV)
1.4ghz - 50mV UV (1400mV)
Max UV were found by starting from 100mhz Max frequency, decreasing UV until stable for 5 minutes of software decoding of 720p MKV, and then increasing Max frequency one step. Occasionally the previous step UV needed to be decreased by 25mV to obtain a stability at the next frequency step.

I can run my SGS stable at 1540 MHz with glitch kernel in MIUI 1.5.20 ROM.
Total stability in a 48 hours stress test.

Mine is stable at 1.5 Ghz with a 200mv undervolt, but only if I select it as a single frequency.
For multiple frequencies, I was stable at 1.4Ghz on an earlier kernel, but it's slightly unstable now... I'll probably try tweaking the governor.
I'm on a i9000m using tk-glitch's V9D-VC and CM7 #11 build.
By the way, shouldn't this thread be in general?
I am on MIUI v3 and CM7_SGSMTD_platypus-kernel_20110522_r0_quorra-prer11_test4-r2 kernel.
I don't use undervolt settings and 1.2 Ghz is fine for me; above values generally don't work stable.
By the way, 1.2 ghz is almost enough for all games and operations, I did not run into that pushing apps for high oc's.
Regards.
1.44GHz, extremely smooth and stable!
Never seen an option to go above 1.54, but 1.54 works flawlessly so I've chosen 1.5 in the poll. (16gb i9000)

It's not the ROm it's the KERNEL who can oc, i adviise using XAN, hardcore kernels in 2.2. or gto's ginger kernel at 2.3 they are stable and 1280 i guess it's the limit not to warm up
But a questin what send me an undervoltage config, to 1300 if the gpu games work for someone at 1300mhz

OC/UV settings

What are your OC/UV settings?
Thank's for the info!
Sent from my GT-P1000 using Tapatalk
Currently at:
Min: 100mhz
Max: 1200mhz
Cpu Govenor: Conservative
I/O: V(R)
Works great for me, no lags everything runs smoothly
I'm currently running:
Minimum: 100 Mhz
Maximum: 1300MHz
with the ondemand scheduler
and the sio I/O scheduler
All this is on Overcome Jupiter and I find it gives me enough power to keep things running smoothly but the battery is still great.
At the moment, I'm not Undervolting but I used to run it in a cascading scheme where at 1300 I would undervolt 125 and drop 25 each frequency step until at 800 MHz it was back at standard voltages. This improved my battery a bit but led to the occasional glitch etc.
Performance case:
Minimum: 200 Mhz (200 mhz -75mV, 400-1000mhz -50mV, 1200mhz -25mV, 1300-1500mV untouched)
Maximum: 1600MHz (overvolt +50mV)
ondemand\performance cpu governor
deadline I/O scheduler (looks pretty faster than sio)
Battery saving case:
Minimum: 100 Mhz (100-600mhz -75mV)
Maximum: 1000MHz (800-1000mhz -50mV)
with the powersave cpu governor
noop I/O scheduler
those settings are best as for me.
also if i need extreme speed i lock CPU @ 1600mhz or cut its scaling up to 1400-1600mhz (beacuse overheatings suck badly)
using modded Overcome 3.1.0
I used the performance settings above and so far so good. I'll post back if battery performance is any better.

Very low 3D graphics score even after Overclocking to 1.4 GHz

Hi everyone
I recently overclocked my Samsung galaxy S i9000 to 1.4 GHz. I'm using CM 10.1.2 as my ROM and Mackay kernel 3.0.86.
I overvolted my cpu to 1350 mV and oc'd to 1.4 GHz using Voltage control app.
My issue (please see the attached png image file) --- Low 3D graphics score in AnTuTu benchmark even after this much oc'ing
I assume that as you overclock the cpu the gpu clock also gets increased, thereby increasing my 3d graphics score
Appreciate any assistance
thats normal mate, increasing cpu doesnt mean increasing in gpu or 2/3D perf. unless u can change da graphic card

Overclock, which boosts performance in a not so appropriate way...

I'm learning to do kernel stuff, so after discovering something, I was quite shocked (in a good way, of course)
How dual Cortex A5 CPUs (MSM8225 chipset) could give such performance boost, even if I have overclocked it by only 36 Mhz (doesn't go any further than that)...
I just don't understand.
Some comparisons:
Antutu Benchmark v.5.1 - 32/64bit CPU Test
Before OC (stock 1008 Mhz):
Single Core Score: ~1700
Multi Core Score: ~3600
After OC (1036 Mhz):
Single Core Score: ~1950
Multi Core Score: ~3900
Vellamo 3.1
Before OC (Stock 1008 Mhz):
Metal: ~390
Multicore: ~560
After OC (1036 Mhz):
Metal: ~420
Multicore: ~680
And, overall, now my phone is miles snappier than it was stock.
Really strange...
A custom kernel does so much more than enable an OC. Disabling things that freezy freeze the breezy breeze..
At least it's a lot of fun seeing my phone boosted in more than one way. :3
