Hello,
Anyone know where i can get armband for the Dell streak, its hard to find one that fits 5" screen.
Thanks
LOL.....you are kidding aren't you?
dude......you need to go buy yourself an iphone so you dont go asking stupid questions like that around here again
I actually run in the mornings as well and have ALWAYS used my phone for my mp3 player when i do so, I would also like to know if anyone as found one.
My daughter would like to have her mp3 player back since i basically jacked it from her and wont give it back. Hers even has the micro sd slot so i can even listen ot my own tunes and i am not settled with her chick music crap. but it does not have blue tooth so i can use my stereo blue tooth headset that i have used for the past 3years. (i really got used to the no wire thing)
I also bike ride too and would love a way to strap it to my arm or somthing for that as well.
try a backpack... or one of those ancient things called a "fanny pack"
I suppose you could slip in under your sweat band...
I actually tried an old sweatband but it did not hold it very well. it would not even hold it accross the room.

have you tried tucking it into your panties
...just a thought
The problem with waist band type holders when jogging is that area takes a lot of shocks from landing feet which I think is partly why arm bands were invented in the first place. The Streak is too big to fit comfortably on the arm though I'd have thought.
Take a look at skiing accessory suppliers - a lift pass holder might work if you can find one large enough.

yea...i guess we will just have to wait till some company make one, till then we can't really use the streak while exercising.

" oh man i love my new laptop, i just wish it came with a armband so i could surf the web while im running"
in all seriousness though. a wrist strap would be a better idea since the phone functions in landscape. now that sh*t would be scifi. hell all you need to sort that out would be a rubber skin and some black nylon straps

Now that I would get.
What you need is a Cell-mate, Google it. Would be perfect for your needs and you can do away with the silly wires too then
what a bunch of obnoxious arses people have become lately..
I think I'll join in as well!
I'd quite like an armband for my streak, and it doesn't look too big on me, but then I'm not a 15yr child like some of the posters here are behaving like!
I use mine while exercising, i use it everyday cycling to work. I've taken to keeping it in a rigid sunglasses holder and have a belt fitting for that, but its not ideal although mytracks and mixzing running over bluetooth. Mytracks voice announce feature is superb.
But for navigation I need a better solution as I need to see the screen.
I don't understand what the big deal is here. I would like an armband too. Sure, I could get an MP3 player, but why? The streak plays MP3's. In addition to that, wearing it on your upper arm would work just fine with the landscape format...just lift your arm up a bit (as if you were looking at your watch) and it should rotate so that you can read things normally.
I got this thing so it could satisfy as many of my needs as possible. Using it at the gym to track my workout and listen to music falls under that category.
i was begining to think i was the only one that honestly was interested in this (other than the original poster) Thanks for chiming in guys.
I also wouldn't mind getting an arm strap, as long as it was designed well and not just a pocket that then wraps around your arm cos the then it wouldn't sit on your arm properly and would eventually swivel, loosen and then fall off due to the gap (phone being wide and flat and your arm being round).
I currently use a waist pouch fanny pack p*ss bag (its yellow ) thingy along with my bluetooth headphones and it works perfectly for me at the mo but then again, I don't run on the treadmills so I wouldn't know how it would cope then (I either cycle or use the Xtrainer). Still, nothing wrong with wanting an arm strap!
I was looking through PSP accessories for goodies to maybe modify, but the PDAIR flip case should meet MY needs. Long wait for it to get here though.
Give the guy a break.
Try one of these. Not sure how well it does with the weight but I attach mine to a camel bak when mountain biking

I also use a bluetooth head phones for music so it can be sealed in. if you stick with wired head phones then you can half seal it in an still be secured

Last night I got inspired (by the Netflix app ) to make a functional and nice looking stand. But instead of jumping in blindly with plexiglass or something I built a prototype out of cardboard.
I was thinking of making the final version a bit smaller so it fits nicer when vertical and maybe making a notch in it so the home button is accessible. Something I can't figure out how to fix is that the speaker is inside the stand when vertical. But other than that I'm really happy how this turned out and can't wait to make a final version.
Attached are some pictures of it holding the Nook horizontal and vertical. Any comments, ideas or questions would be appreciated. Thank you.
Not bad though if you are worried about the speaker it would be realy easy to rigup a pair of speakers with a 1/8" stereo jack on your final build
Wouldnt it just be easier/cheaper to buy one of those stands?
Im all about making custom things, but in this case, I dont see the benfit of what you made versus this: http://www.amazon.com/Arkon-Portabl...VOOY/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1305477985&sr=8-2

Ah phooey! I see the benefit of DIY. True, sometimes there are cheaper solutions out there. But this user's solution gave "me" many ideas for other devices, my wife's iPad, my Evo, Books! I like the ingenuity involved in the OP's solution. I'm going to make something like this out of plexiglass--the OP's idea. 1 sheet of pl (home depot), my jigsaw, some cement, buff the edges, felt the edges to protect the nook, rubber little feet (Rite Aid), listen to jazz while I'm making it and have a blast! $20. It's going to look a lot better than a little cheap rack holding holding up a nook. Nice going!
I agree, sometimes it's about the journey, not the destination.

I have one of these and, while it's great for my XOOM, it doesn't really fit the NC very well. It's OK for landscape but if you want your NC to stand in portrait while charging you have to put the stand on a book or the edge of a table to allow space for the cable. Actually I found this thread because I was looking for a better stand.
I definitely see the advantages of DIY to satisfy your own requirements. Good luck!
I use this case stand since I got my Nook Color in January. I see that now Amazon for fulfils the orders for it now. I had to wait two weeks back then but it was worth it. No excuses not to get it now.

Get a good Bluetooth keyboard I actually bought the Apple one from Amazon and you're in heaven.
Okay, so I think it's pretty much been proven that the box the nook color came in is probably one of the best product boxes... ever. And I came to show you why it is indeed absolutely amazing.
This is the time you go to look at the pictures, I attached
And now I tell you what I did:
1. Ripped apart my old external speakers
2. Made sure the speakers still worked, fixed them where they needed them
3. Cut 3 holes in my NookColor box
4. Placed speakers in 2 of the holes and ran the headphone jack through the other one.
5. Put the "motherboard", controls, and power source in bottom of box.
6. Win.
This is mainly for watching movies either on netflix or on my sd card, then it's also major win for when I play SNESoid, PSXoid, or N64oid. This is literally like having a tv(a small one). But I can also stand up my nook when I want to listen to music, but I don't really store music on my nook. Use my android phone for that.
Does anyone else think this is awesome????
Cool idea! I might try this out.
Very clever, I like it.
Yes, it is awesome. Good job. Cardboard actually sounds pretty good sound for building speaker cases.

I know I was quite impressed. There was very little to no(noticeable) distortion of any kind. Only problem is low quality speakers = lots of grain. But I would never do this to expensive speakers so I am okay
EDIT: I fixed the grain by messing with the Nook Tweaks App by dalingrin + using electric tape instead of packaging tape
Try googing 'infinite baffle'; you really should have made larger holes for the speakers so all of the rear facing cone was inside the box. Otherwise you get sound waves of opposite phase cancelling out, or otherwise distorting, the sound from the forward facing cones.
This is a neat idea for Barnes and Noble's Nook Color 2 implementation.

Yeah when I was installing the speakers I was actually thinking about that(I didn't know the term though). But for now I have the speakers like this because I have yet to find a real solution to their problem, I need to soder(spelling?) on the connections. Right now, I either have it wrapped around the connection or taped on. I'm scared something might break if I push them in as is.
That is a neat idea and actually makes for a pretty cool little stand.
btw it is spelled solder.

Yeah I saw other people modifying there's like painting it, adding a charging cable in it. So I got the idea for movie stand and decided to try it out, so thanks!
And hanks for the spelling tip as well, I have been pronouncing it "saw-der" since I first saw the word in 5th grade. (I used to be in the PSP hacking scene. Modifying batteries that would allow you to essentially "root" your PSP.) So when I needed to spell it I completely forgot about the "l".
Awesome!!! Got me thinking about a nice speaker setup
Totally agreed. It IS the best product box ever. I set it up on my desk at work and can slide it in and out for when I need to use it. Not to mention the magnetic shut, and solidity of the box...is there anything the Nook Color isn't amazing with?
Edit: I just figured out you can use the box as a stand too. I was wondering what that slit at the bottom was....I feel like a 'tard. ><
That is pretty original.... I like it!
Sent from MIUI'ed Nookie Color! Love the Nookie!
Looks great! Where's the subwoofer?
are those speakers powered solely by the nook's 3.5mm Jack?
Good idea, but we can tell that fabrication isn't one of your strong suits...lol
Loosely pack some fiber fill like from inside a pillow inside the speaker inclosure (behind the speakers) It should knock down the tinney sound somewhat.
Lol, this is a tad bit ridiculous, but cool nonetheless.
THat is freakin awesome man....very creative
cool idea great info
I want to attach my Nexus 7 to the neck support of the seat so that my kids can watch some movies while it is hanging there and I'm driving. These setups exist if you happen to have a portable dvd player with a 7'" screen, but I have not yet seen one for the Nexus 7. I do not want something made out of hardware, it should be some sort of cloth thing that you hang off of the neck support. Preferably with as much safety as possible.
Do you know if such an item exists, or will I have to manufacture my own?

I did not find exactly what I was looking for, but I found something adequate. It was a generic thing for 6-14 inch pads and it was a dual fit thing where it works on the car seat as week as on the windshield. I'll post link if I find one.
Signature? Signature!
That'd be great, thanks!

What ever happened to the universal strap packs that tied to the head rests with straps and positioned the device between the seats?
Link time!
I ordered this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300767753512, just because it was dirt cheap =)
I don't expect it to arrive when I need it though, so I have bought another one as well. Looks fairly similar, only thing is it is a 2 in 1 thing where you can attach it to your seat and your window. So basically two attachment options, same tablet holder kind of a thing.
The second one is made by Marquant, can't find a link to it anywhere though.
Cheers!

This is the one that I have, and it does sit in between the 2 front seats, unless I'm misunderstanding what you mean by positioning between the front seats.

Hi, I was very curious about these headphones, so I ordered a set from EBAY from Korea. They are not that good at all, very poor bass response, feel somewhat cheap and fit poorly. If you are on the fence about getting these, don't bother.
try moving them around in your ear, bit tricky then you can hear the bass. So far they are the best I ever had with a phone (Iphone, Samsung), actually better then all the plugs I had.
The thick wires also untangle like a charm.

They came in the box with my D802.
Tried them, put them back in the box, and ordered some good in-ear set.
The Quadbeats 2 are just horrible! no where close to the quality of the ones that came with the HTC One.

Lol didn't you get the memo? Apple should market their earbuds as "Intelligent Dual-Purpose (earbud + makeshift speaker) Headsets". When you're by yourself in a quiet space, they are painfully loud. When you're in a loud place with lots of other people, they leak sound like oil from the Exxon Valdez. It's basically impossible to listen to anything in class; everyone else can hear what you're listening to.
Anyways, I haven't tried Samsung, but however bad the Quadbeats are they MUST be far superior to those dreaded Apple earphones.

Agreed, though I like the over all sound from the apple head phones over the quadbeats
I just tried mine tonight, compared with my now a few years old Sennheiser cx300 (I think) in ears. Have to say I prefer the sound on the Quadbeat 2's right now. Definitely a bit lighter on bass, but overall a lot more clear. Very impressed for a pair of headphones included for free in the box!
Also, the phone volume for music can go a lot louder with the Quadbeats in for some reason too.
Combined with Viper XHifi I'm damn happy.

I have long been an audiophile for many years and have lived through the advacements from tubed systems through the 7 and 11 transistor radios to what is available today for 10s of thousands of dollars. Everyones hearing is different and what sounds like velvet to me may sound like fingernails being dragged across the chalk board to you. As such, you will either like these or not. I like them, a lot. Worth every penney I paid for them and I use Sennheisers in my home. For the price, these are more than adequate for the task when I am out and about. Of course I listen to Pink Floyd and not to Waka Flocka, and Bach instead of ..... Well, you get the idea.

No, it tells you that that is his preference. The general feeling on the Quadbeats 2 is very positive for bundled earphones.
I talk to a lot people that think in-ear monitors, on the whole, don't have any bass. These same people generally don't know how to fit them properly. There's a reason most IEMs include multiple tips. The wearer must find the right size and style of tip to properly seal in the ear canal. Some folks are lucky and can get good fit from a medium mushroom single flange. Others (myself and my son included) need to customize for best fit and comfort.
Some of the most compelling sound reproduction I've ever heard came out of a set of cheap customized wood (Altec?) IEMs.

I know, I need a smaller sized plug on my right ear than I do my left, looks weird if anyone ever borrows them, but they're my ears dammit. For what they are (free in my box!) or if bought, a cheap pair oh earphones, they are a very decent bit of kit. Anyone expecting world beating results is looking in the wrong place however.

Awfull
I received my LG G2 yesterday with Quadbeats 2 and I must say they are the worst in-ear I've ever tried.
They probably go to the trashcan, nobody would want them.
I've tried with all the plug sizes, and the medium size fits really well, but the sound...:crying:
If I raise the volume to 40%, just when you are expecting to "feel" the bass, the sound will start to break up, just like a couple of busted speakers.
My set must be broken, since I can not see how this would be an improved version of Quadbeats, since they are utterly crap.
Given the general overall opinion on them from other sites as well is positive, then yes, maybe they were faulty. But to suggest yourself that they may be faulty, but then also say they are crap is contradictory.
