[Q] Recover videos from internal memory Xperia X1 - XPERIA X1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I would like to know if it's possible to recover videos deleted accidentally from the internal memory of Sony Ericsson Xperia X1.
The operative system is Windows Mobile 6.1 and I tried to recover with several software solutions as Recuva, Stellar Phoenix, Raise data Recovery,
iDisksoft data recovery, R-Studio and others.
The problem is always the same, is not possible to have the access to the internal memory, the drive is not recognized by the software and it's impossible to interface with the main memory of the smartphone.
Please help me and sorry for my English,
Thank you in advance

Yes, as mass storage using USB connection with the computer.
I tried also to use connection mode in active sync, but in this way the software doesn't recognize either the memory card.

You probably have a driver issue. Try searching for one or use the generic ActiveSync driver from Microsoft.

I uninstalled previous drivers and installed new ones.
I also tried with different operative systems as XP and Seven 64Bit
Nothing is changed.
Now the question is: Is it possible that the problems is due to the fact that I bought the X1 with telephone provider?
Is it probably branded?
For what reason I can "see" the internal memory of the device with Windows mobile device center and not with the file explorer and software as Recuva?
If somebody has the solution, please help me step by step if it's possible.
Thank you so much

[Q] Can't get access to removable disc on my HTC's

Hi I have some really strange problems with accessing my 16 GB SD-card from my PC.
First of all the SD is OK. I can see how much space is used on it in HTC Sync, I can browse the files with Astro and Read/Write to it.
However I can not for the life of me figure out how to access my SD car from my pc. I plug the phone into my pc and choose disc drive. The SD then pops up as a removable disc in MY Computer, it does not say how much space is available or how much I've used. When i try to click on it it says "Please insert a disk into Removable Disc(Q"
When I go to Device manager and click properties on HTC Android Phone USB Device it says that the driver is from Microsoft(?) and that the driver Version is 6.1.7600.16385(?)
I figured something happened here and removed the driver, rebooted and plugged in the SD-card that came with the phone into the phone figuring I would install the drivers from the SD, however the Microsoft driver automatically installs itself again and I'm stuck in a loop.
I've also tried my HTC Desire, my HTC Hero and my girlfriends HTC Wildfire same problem.
Any tips on how to fix this? I got some save games etc on another HTC I got (HTC Desire) that I really want to copy to my Incredible S.
do you have an ext(2-4) partition on it ? This can cause it. Otherwise try to pull it trough adb (or share through dropbox or alike). And than reformat it. Sometimes it gives weird results in windows and the main fix i found here is to copy it a different way and format it again.
No ext(2-3) partition on it. I'm starting to thing it's my pc since it's the same problem on 4 phones :/
Than it probably is your driver or something... have you tried a linux live cd or something to see if it works? With that computer problem i cannot help you, perhaps someone else
o yeah, maybe try a different usb port sometimes that works...
It's definitively my drivers. Tried it on my older laptop (travel-only pc) and it worked like a charm there, now I just have to find out how to get the correct drivers to work on my computer since it didn't work last time
Reinstall htc sync, replug the phone.
If that don't work, try updating your driver manually, driver should be known
You can also alter the Android Google usb driver (adb) to work with the incredible s. But I'm not going to explain that when typing on my phone hh.

Uninstall HTC Sync and use the generic windows driver..... it will detect as a memory drive.... or use Linux enviornment to use ur memory card as a usb drive if u have problems with windows.... !!!
It works like charm on linux... i use linux so its rather easy... plug and play... no unnecessary sync problems

[ROM][CM10.1][JB][4.2.2][SGT7][P1000/N/L/CDMA][OpenPDroid][20130315]

Hi All,
I'm newbie to this area and I just flashing my P1000 into CM10.1 with JB 4.2.2. Everything is work fine for me and I love the PDroid Manager function very much too!
The only problem that I encountered now is the USB mass storage function. When i plug in the USB cable into desktop computer, it only shows external SD card drive but internal SD card drive shows nothing whereby lots of data were stored into internal SD card.
Does anyone help to enlightening me on how to get back to live for my internal SD card drive?
Thanks in advance!

Try to disable and re-enable the mass storage.
The error should only occur after the boot.

Hi Paolo,
Thanks for your advice. However, I tried to disable & re-enable the mass storage under storage - USB computer connection still can't solve my problem as computer keep asking to "insert a disk" when I click the internal SD card drive.
Any idea?
Thanks.
hi all,
after reset all setting to default factory setting, the internal SD card mass storage issue had been settled. Thanks for your concern and advice.

Connect to your PC?
You are not being clear.
You connect it using the USB cable.
If you meant to say the PC can't detect it, you still have to tell in what way, as storage, in Odin, etc, etc?

Hi All,
Same problem comes back again after I've done factory reset to my GT-P1000. Besides this, I discover that the radio keeps telling me no service but I still can access my mail using mobile data network (not WiFi).
Other than these, my GT-P1000 will reboot itself automatically. Please be informed that I did flashing this from original GB to this ROM directly.
Is there any advice can be taken? I don't wish keep factory resetting my GT-P1000 in order to access the internal SD again.
Another issue need to find out is how to switch the picture storage location from internal SD to external SD after camera snapped?
Please help, thanks!

[Q] Recover photos from internal storage

so yes... I know its impossible but I have lost lots and lots of family photos within the internal storage for my XZ. It was just yesterday when I wanted to give custom roms a try and I totally forgot about backing them up... ive been searching 13hrs so far on google trying to recover those files. The closest topic I found was this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1994705 i am stuck on adb (google usb driver) installation part, which I get an error "The folder item you specified doesn't contain a compatable driver for your device. If the folder contains a driver, make sure it is designed to work with Windows for 32-bit
systems." can anyone help?
or please let me know if there is a way to mount xperia z internal storage to UMS mode? I mean I would like to connect my phone to pc then scan phone with software like Recuva.

that guide is for galaxy nexus. Not sure if you can do that, what you can do is contact Sony, tell them your situation and see if they can do some forensic stuff on the phone, sometime they can recover it...

that method applies for all phones , I have used it to recover my note 2 , Xperia Z and even the Note 1 so its same for all androids
I was having the same problem last time, accidentally deleted some photos on internal storage from my Son Xperia phone, then I did some research and found this solution: Sony Xperia data recovery
the Sony xperial file recovery guide helped me get back lost photos from internal memory of my Sony Xperia phone. hope that it helps you too.
Use a file explorer and navigate to /data/media and data/media/0 under /DCIM/100ANDRO and see if pictures are there.

Mount the XPERIA Z as an external hard drive and then use a program to recover the files (I'm on mac and I'm using Stellar Phoenix Mac Data Recovery... There's a windows version too).
Literally doing this to my sisters' XPERIA S as I type.
One drawback is that it takes forever.
EDIT: Sorry I just realised this is what you were trying to do all along. To get XPERIA Z mounted as an external drive go to settings>xperia connectivity>USB connectivity and select MSC. I know you requested UMS but these programs should still be able to recognise and recover data from these drives

[Q] Enable Mass Storage

Hello,
I'm wondering if there is a way for my Samsung Galaxy S III Mini to show as a mass storage device when I connect it to my computer? At the moment it displays as a "portable device" and it seems that a lot of synchronisation software and other tools aren't compatible with this method. Instead I've had to resort to removing the SD card each time I want to use any of these tools. I'll even be willing to change rom if it will resolve the problem.
Thanks,

Make sure you have installed Samsung drivers, get it from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2038555
Samsung drivers doesn't change MTP to Mass Storage. Only CM10 has a Mass Storage system. You can try it.

It sounds like you're trying to use it on your internal memory, which won't work because it needs the system to mount it using MTP. If you're trying to use it on your Sdcard, then just remove the sdcard, put it in an Sdcard adapter, and connect that to the computer, which will be properly mounted and recognized by your operating system.
You can't do it directly from the phone without an OS to mount either of the memories; also, I've never heard of of any software recovery working on MTP. Storage drives generally have to be mounted as mass storage devices, not MTP.
Sony Pc companion will only see the phone in mtp but I can access the internal memory from there. That being said I can only access the sd card throw the computer I think this is because pc companion loads adb drivers when I run throw the program and takes them off when I close the program I want to have free access to the internal memory with out using the pc compaion maybe leave the drivers on the pc. please help

Yes, but I think you're missing the point that MTP won't work. Even on the Tenorshare website it says you have to enable USB storage when connected to your PC, in other words, MSC, not MTP, in other words, it doesn't read the internal memory.
http://www.tenorshare.com/guide/how-to-recover-android-data.html
Windows doesn't need adb drivers to communicate between MTP devices. You still haven't stated which memory you're trying to recover files from... can't help you if you don't answer simple questions.
Yes I agree with you I need to be in msc mode to see the internal memory. When I am in msc my computer will not recognize my phone. The only way I can access my internal memory is throw the sony software pc companion the software loads sa0105 adb interface driver every time I use the software and takes them back off when I close it. I can go throw internet explorer and see the drivers but I cant copy or move them. I am just trying to access the drive without using the software. sorry for the confusion thanks for your help

Ok, well, I'm not trying to be rude, but I don't see what you're agreeing to, because that's not what I'm saying. The internal storage can't be mounted as MSC, so you'll never see it mounted in Windows, no matter what you try, even if your PC were able to recognize your phone.
If you were trying to recover data from your external memory it would be an entirely different story. You could connect it to your computer with an adapter like I said earlier and then recover the data.
Is this the same person having a laugh or what, I am laughing my head off
