Nexus 4 ROM torrent mirrors - Nexus 4 General

Evening all.
I was in charge of this across a few devices in my time on XDA and so wanted to see if anyone would be interested in me doing this for the Nexus 4.
The idea is simple I would maintain a thread with torrents for Nexus 4 ROMs (all backed by a couple of my 1GB/s seedboxes) to allow fast and easy downloading.
I would aim to keep up to date with ROM versions and as many ROMS as I can.
Of cause I would first gain permission of ROM developers to host mirrors and I would also seed and ROMs that already have torrents (and add them to the list).
The idea would be the thread could become a one stop place for torrents of roms.
Anyone interested in my starting this?

Shameless bump, alot of views and no one has a view on this one way or another?
I am more than happy to do the list but only if enough users would user it so please let me know what you think!

I think this is a great idea.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app

That would be great, the download within the goomanager is painful slow.

I also think it's a great idea. Torrents seem the perfect option for downloading roms. It's always painful when your download crawls getting the latest releases.
Thanks man!

Yes but for many countrys that are not near such hosting sites (for example australia) p2p is the only way to get a strong enough connection.
Plus it allows you to pause downloads, pretty much prevents file corruption and a whole host of other advantages.
Anyway the thread has been started : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2151425

Do it. I'd also be happy to help seed some items on my 500Mbps seedbox in London.

[ROM-AOSP-WIP] DevNull (GRJ90 2.3.5) & Oxygen (GWK74 2.3.7)

I've been working on ports of DevNull and Oxygen to the Wildfire. Please check here for future updates
As far as I know, the only major issue with this ROM remaining is the video recording being non-functional.
Everything else should be working - Browser / Audio / Still Camera / GPS
Should be one of the fastest AOSP roms - thanks to the CM team (via xdbg/arco) for the graphics fixes, and pepperon/xdbg/zoomas for testing

hey guys, as many of you who frequent my ukb thread know, i will be bringing a variant of our Team Venom ViperRom to the inc 2 and inc s (and it will probably serve as the base for viperRom on other msm7x30 devices)
I need about 10 beta testers for the inc s (beta testing is a general requirement for viper roms to put out the best product possible)
Requirements:
proficient with adb/logcat
ability to give solid feedback for beta test roms
agrees not to share links/roms with non beta testers
has spent a decent amount of time on sense4 roms on this device already and have familiarity with them
is someone familiar to this forum...ie you dont have 10 posts and joined last month
just reply in this thread if interested...ill contact those i select by tuesday/wednesday and announce in this thread when ive done that...no hard feelings if you arent selected! rom will be available to all soon enough :silly:

I'm also interested in beta testing
Seems you have enough offers already, but if you need any more then I'll do what I can to help.
I'm not a programmer, I don't know know how to mod, but I am good at finding things wrong with things. I'm also keen to see a solid bug free ROM, so I can report small details which sometimes get overlooked or just accepted as 'thats the way it is'.
No probs if you don't need me though, there's good experience ahead of me in the offers above!

ok, look like we have enough volunteers....ill make my selection later and inform you by pm...if not selected, please dont take offense...and the rom will be publicly available soon enough :highfive:
pm-ed those I picked...i just went by those who seemed to be the most active in forums
this will be the thread for beta testers to post feedback, bug reports, screen shots, whatever
so even if not selected, you can still follow whats going on :good:
:good:Will be eagerly following this thread and hope public release come soon....
Good luck team!
I'm looking forward to seeing the best ROM for the Inc. S!

[Wallpapers] 1080p Love At The First Touch Android Wallpapers

I decided to make a set of wallpapers inspired by 'iPhone Wallpaper: First Touch" by TinyLabs on deviant art. I want a set like it for my HTC One so with inspiration from TinyLabs, I created my own set from scratch for me and anyone else who wants to use them. I will be using a Copy.com link to share the folder, as I will be adding new backgrounds and possibly new sticker colors so there will potentially be more walls.
You can either make a copy account and add the folder to your copy account so you can access on any device or computer, or you can inconveniently visit the thread every now and then to check back and see if anythings new. I would use dropbox but they limit bandwidth, and copy does not. This way I don't have to worry about adding a zip of an updated set of walls every time I want to add more for you guys or have you guys wait for dropbox to let me share public links again.
Copy will give you 15gb of free storage to start out, and 20gb if you use my referral (https://copy.com?r=luU4NP). Also When folders are shared, the space taken up is split between owners of the folders. So if 4 people are sharing it, it will take up 1/4th the space.
Enough talking, Here is the link to the wallpapers: https://copy.com/DKKxryOhtTinknuI
and again, here is the link to my Copy referral so you can get 20gb of online storage: https://copy.com?r=luU4NP
Here is a preview of the wallpapers. There are 7 different sticker colors, and 6 different color backgrounds so far. 252mb in total. They are all in PNG format for absolute best quality, and optimized using PNGGauntlet in order to take up the least amount of space.

Opera Max will help you save data traffic on all your apps in Nexus Devices

Opera is working in a new service called Opera Max that will help you save data on all your apps, not just the browser. It compresses data for every image, video and text file downloaded to your device regardless of the application downloading it.
It works by installing the Opera Max application on your Android device. The app configures a VPN server on your device and routs all your data through it. The server will compress all data before sending it to your device, thus saving your data and time. This works for all apps except those that use https, so any secure content such as online payments and mail services won’t be compressed.
The service is currently in beta and Opera is looking for people in the US to test it out for them. You will find the instructions to sign up for it and the download link for the app in the source link below.

Nice... all my data is now routed through Opera's servers?? I hope I can get into the Beta before it fills up!!!!
Nexus 5 is currently not supported.
We have temporarily disabled support for Nexus 5 , Androis OS 4.4.x (Kit Kat). We had a number of users raise issues . After some preliminary investigation , it seems that Google shipped several known VPN API bugs in their Kit Kat release: http://phandroid.com/2013/11/12/android-kitkat-vpn-bug/ .
We just armed our development team with nexus 5's and other Kit Kat enabled devices. We are going to get to the bottom of this (if its an Opera Max app issue, we will fix it, if its Google's problem we will raise the issue with them and urge them to provide a fix asap).
Appreciate your patience as we iron out the kinks in our beta.
Please stay tuned for Opera Max updates.
