Chicken lol I'm on ics with speedmod k3. The way I do it is to follow deathst guide on rooting ics (on general couple of pages down) simple download cwm zip and binary zip flash them in stock recovery and you get temporary root. I then used mobile odin to flash speedmod k3 kennel, done! No triangle no binary count! It works and its simple! Follow his guide I recommend

Yes, you can wipe cache and also wipe dalvik. This can reset many errors causing phone not to boot.
Just DON'T wipe data factory reset! This is said cause hard brick on ics until Samsung fix.
Mobile odin questions!!!
Figured it out thanks guys
Hello everybody, My galaxy note running on MUIU Ice cream sandwish with a dangerous kernel and i want to go back on stock official gingerbread and I wondering if i can flash a stock rom via odin and if it's was dangerous for the phone , because i don't want to use the kernel abysal method.
Thank in advance
Goldiman
Well the odin way, is the safest way in my opinion.
Flash a safe kernell and then Flash the gb rom you wish via odin.
Search in the forums and you will find the exact safe steps

thank for your anwser
I wondering why flash a safe kernel before?
I can just flash the full stock rom via odin on a dangerous kernel right?
Straigh way flash any stock GB ROM with PC Odin.
Very likely you will face force closes after flashing GB stock ROM, nothing to worry, just reboot to recovery and wipe cache and data, everything will be fine. Remember wiping should only perform on GB ROM.
So thank you very much everybody
so i flash the rom via odin , so the flash pass, aftert i get a bootloop on samsung logo so i shutdown my device, and
press home and power button and volume up and select wipe data and wipe cache
reboot the device and everythings is fine

As long as you flash with odin, no need to flash safe kernel as odin does not uses recovery, but it is not advised to flash stock ICS as you may have to wipe immediately after flash. And wiping on stock ics can brick your Note.

Most of the times we may have to wipe in stock recovery after flashing stock rom using odin (specially if flashing over custom roms or flashing GB over ICS), and we all know that Samsung ICS kernels are not safe to wipe, it may brick your device if you have to wipe in ICS stock recovery.
Best is to first flash GB, wipe and then flash ICS using odin.

Via ODIN i am able to install the Stock Roms,
But this do not Fix the Boot Loop Problem.
i see in ODIN the Option "Phone Bootloader update"
can somebody send me a Bootloader file for any Stock ROM ICS or GB ?
or have anyone a other idea ? its my first Brike, so please help
After flashing have you wiped cache and data?

Yes, but zu 99% the Wipe process hangs also up to 10 min, than the phone makes a restart.
When you flash a stock ROM via pc odin, does it complete successfully? If you're on stock ics, flash hydracore kernel via pc odin, then try to boot. Sounds like it's a corrupt kernel installation.

Its the same,
i have flash the Stock ICS via ODIN, and after this i have Flash the HydraCore v5.1
its the same, (now the Galaxy Note Logo has the Triangle to)
try flashing back to stock GB and see if you can bootup your Note after. Usually corrupted bootloaders are fix when you flash back a stock ROM on it...if stock ICS does not work.. then try flashing your phone back to Stock GB.
After installing hydracore... Try do a wipe cache dalvik and factory reset.

Hi everyone, I don't have my Galaxy Note since 2 weeks. I've left my phone at Samsung Warranty because, like some of Note users, i had the USB port broken, so in this week i'm going to have a new replacement Note probably with GingerBread. I will flash Jelly Bean when i get it, but i dont know if with these steps will work (without bricks):
Assuming that i'm coming from Ginger 2.3.6
1: Download Samsung Drivers (kies) and ODIN 3 3.0.4
2: Install ICS XXLRQ with ODIN
3: Flash CF-Root with ODIN too.
4: Flash Philz Kernel XXLRQ with the CWM of Cf Root
(this is THE question: Flashing Philz kernel in Cf-Root, will make my phone safe for wiping? or i need some other thing?)
5: Wipe Data, Cache, Dalvik.
6: Format Preload and System
7: Reboot Recovery
8: Flash XXLSA/LS7 (because XXLSA seems to be very buggy and a lot of people says the phone reboots randomly and stucl at Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000)
Is there any risk if i do these steps?
Thanks! Sorry my bad english!
Greetings from Argentina!!
no need for step 3
just flash philz lrq in stock recovery
rest should be ok and safe
nonono, will loose warrantee, but for the lovebof your note
root first, efs backup on and off the phone. Then the rest.

actually you can flash jellybean directly over gingerbread. you don't have to flash ICS
I flashed jb leak directly over my rooted gingerbread

No need to even root. Download from sammobile.com and install it via Odin.
By the time that you got your phone back, many of us will be using LSC instead of LSA. But I guess the steps will remain the same.

After flash using Odin, the Stock Jelly Bean will still have the brick bug? We still need to flash Philz safe kernel after upgraded to leaked Jelly Bean rom.
Correct me if wrong.
Yes....flash philz 3.71 kernel for XXLSA

I understand you might be a little shaky to flash JB over GB esp. with a new note at hand
It is safe to wipe using GB kernels, so for starters, DO NOT flash ICS or ICS kernels
1- you need to root your phone first, try dr.ketan thread for safe rooting on GB
2- download a flashable ZIP ROM for JB XXLSA e.g. Ultimate v5 or SweetROM v2.5 (I personally recommend sweetROM, great work by not-i)
3- do a full wipe (factory, cache and dalvick cache) - you might want to do it three times in a row just in case so that you won't get a bootloop
4- Format System & preload
4- flash the new ROM and you got XXLSA
I am not quite sure about the safety of jelly bean kernels, I still revert to abyss if I want to flash a ROM or do a wipe.. but that's just me
Good luck with your brand new Note

Ok, so I'm decided: I'm going to flash XXLSA or XXLS7 (Because i have the 2 roms) via Ginger Bread. I will root my phone with AbbysNote like the first time (a lot of months ago) and then after wipes and formats i will flash JB. I Cant wait to have my new note in my hands, and yes, i'm very shaky because i will Root and flash everything at one time and too fast, (i detest GingerBread since i know the existence of Jelly Bean)...
Thanks everbody for the help!
PD: (May be in two weeks i will have my brand new Note...)
I need to downgrade my Note from stock JB (N7000OXALSZ Germany) to a rooted GB and then upgrade to another version of JB (N7000OJPLSA UAE) to make my phone localized and rooted. I need step by step guide.
My phone is not rooted and doesn't have safe kernel(I've tried to flash a GB rom with pc Odin and got bootloop after that).
Go to dr ketans thread original development section step by step guide there

I saw that thread but i couldn't find downgrading method(s) there. he just mentioned we should downgrade but didn't specify how to downgrade. and as i said my effort to downgrade was unsuccessful.
Easiest way if you can't figure it out is just use mobile Odin...

I Can't. because my phone is not rooted and mobile odin need rooted device.
Why don't you flash philz kernel for your current ROM(LSZ),do the wipes, and then move on to UAE?
AW: Downgrade from JB to GB
Than use odin for pc to flash GB.
Oh sorry, I have just seen you have already tried this. But maybe you have taken the wrong file.,. Or simply root your phone with Philz and flash the rom you want. No need to go back to GB in my opinion.

Have your flashing to GB was successful?
Anyway reboot to recovery and check how you can make selection of choice, if it is gb recovery then you have to select file using home button while on ics and jb it uses power button.
So if your flash to GB successful and recovery is gb then wipe cache and data. It should boot normally
After this update to jb with odin

Thanks for replies,
I've just flash stock GB(from your list), not a safe kernel or anything else and it was unsuccessful(got bootloop). then i re-flash JB(Germany) to make the phone alive again(and it was successful, so i'm on JB right now), after all of this i decide to ask you what should i do for safe and successful downgrading to have rooted device on JB(UAE)?
Successful means odin was successful to flash it. Don't worry about bootloop, it's common after downgrade. So Reflash gb, if it remains successful to flash then reboot to recovery and wipe cache and data (you can confirm gb recovery by trick said in previous msg)
But if you just want to update other gb rom, then no need to go for gb, just flash jb rom of your choice, don't worry for bootloop
Flash safe kernel
Wipe cache and data
