Here is a tutorial I found in a quick Google search:
http://www.mobilepoint.us/2012/12/samsung-galaxy-3i9305-unlock-precedure.html?m=1
But it is most likely outdated so I recommend going onto the official site of Z3X ( http://z3x-team.com/category/news/)

Hi,
1. Start the phone WITHOUT SIM card
2. Open the phone application and enter the following code: *#197328640#
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
3. Then go in the following menus:
Main Menu [1] UMTS
[1] Debug Screen
[8] Phone Control
[6] Network Lock
Options [3] Personal SHA256 OFF
On this screen, do nothing. JUST WAIT ABOUT 30 SECONDS.
Then go back by pressing the Menu button (touch left of Home button) then select Back
you are in [6] Network Lock
then select [4] NW NV Lock Data INITIALLIZ
On this screen, do nothing. JUST WAIT ABOUT 1 MINUTE.
Then restart the phone.
4. Now your Galaxy i9305 LTE S3 must be unlocked. There is no confirmation message. The way to check is to insert a SIM card from another operator.

you may or may not leave that sim card on the phone while unlocking

I can confirm it work !!!
This will not work on 4.1.2. You have to downgrade to 4.1.1, do the above, then use OTA to go back up to 4.1.2.
Doing this then following the above tut worked for me the other day.

Hi,
I want to unlock my Galaxy S3 i9305 LTE bought from TMobile UK, and unfortunately Kies has already upgraded my phone to 4.1.2, details below:
Model Number - GT- i9305
Android Version-4.1.2
Baseband version - i9305BVBLL2
Build Number - JZ054.I9305XXBLL5
Now when I go to Sammobile to donwload 4.1.1, you can see in the picture the codes don't match up where Sammobile has EVRBLL1 or EVRBLL2 under CSC and I have BVBLL2 or XXBLL5.
There is no option for TMobile in Sammobile.
Can anyone please help me or guide me what should I do ??
Thanks in advance.

Dude i was in the same boat as you. I wanted to roll back to 4.1.1. to unlock my phone so I downloaded the EE version cos there are no seperate roms available for Orange or T-mob they all operate under the same umbrella (EE). I used this guide to help me its pretty straight forward:
http://forum.vodafone.co.uk/t5/Samsung-Galaxy-S3/How-to-Flash-Rollback-Galaxy-S3/td-p/1273246 (I know its for original s3 but dont worry the guide works for LTE version aswell)
Instead of downloading firmware from sammobile I used this thread to download the original 4.1.1 stock rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1942150
look for:
Product Code: GT-I9305TADEVR (4.1.1) (EE UK)
PDA: XXALI5
PHONE: BVALI5
CSC: EVRALI5
Released: 17/09/2012
Once you done that. Unlock your phone and finally use software updater via about device to upgrade back to 4.1.2. Baseband and built number will be the same as your present one. Job done! its easy and painless!

Thanks a ton for your reply, helps me a lot.
Just curious to know if you were able to unlock your phone after going back to 4.1.1 ?? As it would be pointless if we can't unlock the phone ever after downgrading to 4.1.1.
Thanks in advance.

Not working with 4.1.2 Stock ROMs (not the same menu)
The only way is to downgrade in 4.1.1

Hello, I updated my system to 4.1.2 and rooted it so as to unlock the phone after which I found out that the only way to carrier unlock this phone is with 4.1.1
How do I safely downgrade so as to get 4.1.1? The phone is locked to 3 here in Sweden. I guess I need a Nordic version but have not found it.
I am very new to this so as detailed help as possible would be appreciated.
Model GT-I9305
Android version 4.1.2
Baseband version I9305XXBLL5
Kernel version

Hi..
You have to look and learn from the forum.
As a noob its dangerous to flash firmwares.
Info is provided everyware on the forum.
Its not against the law to search just breafly on the forum and google.
Google search: Downgrade i9305
Sent from my GT-I9305 using XDA Premium HD app
Because its dangerous is the reason I ask for help here and of course I have googled.And I dont find anything about swedish/nordic firmware only people downgrading in England or the States. That is why I ask the question here.
Since I have sucesfully rooted my device I dont consider myself a noob, just careful.
So instead of stating the obvious like suggesting googling, maybe point me to a proper firmware that I can downgrade with.
Or a thread with relevant information.
Peace
If this is what to use which file should it be? This is why I put my initial question..
Using Odin is a breeze, its something else to know what to flash with so you dont brick your device.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1935570
Ok.. what ever..
Go to www.sammobile.com
There is where every one finds his or her firmware.
Register... goto firmware section... chose
Smartphone..android...i9305.. and the apropriet language for your phone..
The reason no one answeres this question is becaus its like telling you where to get toilet paper.

Use any of stock 4.1.1, unlock it and then flash it with latest Nordic 4.1.2
I guess it must be the file from November 2012 to use with Odin for any GT-I9305 from Sweden then, regardless of carrier? Not the one from September?
This one to use?
I9305XXALK5_I9305TLAALK1_TLA.zip
So if I downgrade to 4.1.1, do the unlock procedure, then it is as easy as to upgrade to 4.1.2 again using Odin and all should be back to normal. Correct?
The carrier unlock procedure can only be done on 4.1.1
Thank you for helping out!
Ok Djembey, just saw you posted a reply and that answers the question then. Many thanks
TLA is Telia and not Nordic, NEE is Nordic. And remember to do a full wipe after changing to another CSC to get OTA updates.
Glad I checked back here, was just about to do a downgrade using TLA firmware. This feels shaky to say the least :/
On Sammobile I can only find the 4.1.2 firmware NEE,I9305XXBMA3_I9305NEEBMA1_NEE.zip, where to find the 4.1.1?
So downgrading and updating using the NEE firmwares will make sure I receive OTA in the future?
And do I need to do a full swipe both after downgrading and then again when I update to 4.1.2 after unlocking?
Many thanks!

ANY 4.1.1 for the I9305 can be used! You will only use it for the unlock.
So is this the correct procedure?
1.Downgrade using TLA
2.No swipe
3.Unlock device
4.Upgrade using the NEE firmware
5.Then do a full swipe
Done
Thank you

FYI: Stock ROM NEE is for all Nordic Countries and it's better than TLA as is updated more frequently.
CSC_NEE contains settings for 34 Nordic Networks.
Btw, he's with 3 Sweden....

I purchased the phone on eBay the other day however I cannot make/receive calls as there is no network signal nor WiFi. I found out that the IMEI and Baseband are missing and UNKNOWN. I made some research and apparently I need an EFS backup. I have no backups whatsoever as bought the phone from second hand just a while ago. I reflashed it using the flashtool but it didn't resolve my issue. Is there ANY way at all to fix Sony Xperia Z1 IMEI and Baseband? ANY at all other than going to the Sony Repair Service and ... replacing the motherboard which would cost same as the new phone. I would really appreciate any advice, help and some useful links!
Many thanks

Are you on the newest firmware with Android 4.3? Imei can be lost when you someone downgrades from 4.3 to 4.2.2. It should come back once you get back on the new firmware.
Try a few 4.3 FTF's and see if it solves the problem.

Usually flashing the same firmware that you were on in the begining should fix the problem. All I can advise you is to try a few firmwares (same version and same localization) that you have had in the beginning with same android and build version. Try it until it comes back. It has to come back eventually.
The firmware is usually lost when you downgrade from 4.2 to 4.3. Once you upgrade to 4.3 it should return to the normal state. Are you sure that you are flashing firmware builds for your model number?
C6903 on C6903 etc.

Thank you for the quick reply. Znam Polski. : )
IMEI - "Unknown"
I do not know what Rom was before the upgrade to 4.3
On the box it says. Si 1276-2646 DE.
This Rom 4.3 which I flash "C6903_14.2.A.1.136_1276-4314 R1B Central Europe.ftf"
Probably the then everything disappeared.
Then I flash ".257> .290> .534"
Nothing has changed, I used an update by SUS.
SUS Flash Rom ".136" appeared restarts.
I went back to ".290"
I typed in Google Si 1276-2646 DE, I found Rom "C6903_14.1.G.1.518_GenericDE.ftf" thinking it was the "first". Unfortunately appeared bootloop. I had to go back to the ".290"
do you have the C6902 or the C6903?
I have a friend who had same case like yours, he contacted me on my gmail account, and i told him to check with variant he has... he was flashing C6903 but his phone was the C6902. however, this didn't solve his problem, so I told him u need to find a C6902 firmware ROM that came flashed in phone first time out of the box. eventually, he flashed his Z1 a C6902firmware which matches his phone network fuctions, and BAM.. IMEI and BASEBAND back to life with network and also WIFI.
just check your phone model and make a try, it worth it...

not all the cases succeed, depend if its a H/W problem, then it's hardbricked phone!
but maybe the latest update would fix this issue, not sure thou, because It was even worse from 4.2.1 to 4.2.2 or 4.3.

Many thanks

Try NUTs Downgrading to a 4.2 ROM.
It might be too late but try it.
I have the same problem but I try to flash PACman ROM 4.3.
I tried to flash baseband from stock Sony ROMs .136 and .290 but my IMEI is still 00000000 and I can't connect to network :/

H/W problem or Hardbricked depend on the phone's issue in which it was hardbricked. in some cases it can still make the phone turn on if it's related radio functionality , cuz It could be the modem or Chip. like imei and baseband problem.

An update of Sony Xperia Z1 to Android KitKat 4.4.2 14.3.A.0.681
Thanks for all the help so far!!! Recently I have reflashed my device to 14.3.A.0.681 Journalist&Commercial latest Android version and suddenly the IMEI and Baseband show up this time, and Wi-Fi works!. However I still got no network service (tried 3mobile and T-mobile; the phone does not ask for any unlock code). It freezes when turning the camera on :/ How to fix this? Is it still the software problem or something else?

Correct. But doesn't Stok G900F ROM come signed from Samsung? Does G900A bootloader accept only its ROM and no others with valid signature?

have fun bricking your phone. please take pictures as you go.
Can I get iOS 7 on my G900A???? Samsung and AT&T locked it down like an iPhone so why not
The g900a has a locked bootloader and no exploit as of yet to install a custom recovery so you will brick if you try to do it.

I was actually just thinking about this.
What if with an ATT S5 you switched carriers to t-mobile, but you were experiencing compatibility issues with the ATT firmware?
I did a live chat on the samsung website and the computer/samsung rep told me if I took my phone to best buy to one of the samsung care locations that they could switch the firmware.
I wonder if this means they have the capability to remove the lock on hand.
-Not sure if I'm going to try it out seen as I'm not actually switching I don't want things to get weird but maybe someone who is going to return their att handset for a t-mobile one could try this before hand?
anyone tested? are the same settings ..
Omfg ... how hard is it to understand that no root no flashing ??? Plz do research before u ask dumb questions

I already tried this, it bricked my phone, I put it up on a page, it won't let me Flash a tmo rom or custom recovery, it went to the screen where it says "this firmware is not recognized by att..." etc I had to put it on download mode and push the original firmware by Odin. And I wasn't able to enter my recover after that until I got the att update not to long ago
Funny....but what if...oh wait, what if I try this? But, but....NO, quit trying before you PERMANENTLY brick your device lol

noob question, sorry to revive, chances to scold me.
if I have a rom with odin g900f if one chooses only
* AP
* CP
* CSC
these three can or can not be on at & t?
I have understood that if you play * BL will have problems, and the others?
I have not tried, I do not want a brick, lol
No way to install a stock rom g900f unmodified clear without knox, I've seen here they are using as a basis the g900f roms with safestrap but are highly modified?
I have tried to install the rom alvin g900f but I have problems with root and custom padlock at power on.

you can't flash anything thru Odin unless it is the official AT&T firmware the ONLY way you can have a G900F firmware on your G900A device is to root (using towelroot by geohot) install Safestrap recovery and then flash any of the custom Touchwiz ROMS from the forums.
What if you want to install the other way?
An G900A ROM to G900F?
Is this possible?
hey guys.
sorry for bothering.
i have an AT&T samsung galaxy s5 G900f running kitkat 4.4.2
i'm from morocco ( the third world )
so no best buy stores or a way to get an At&t Sim card.
i tried updating my phone via settings> phone info > Software update but it says You software is up to date.
i did some searches anf found out that i need and An official At&t Firware of G900f which i looked up but found nothing.
so , can i flash any other model's Firmware like the one of the international version G900f or G900A....etc?
thanks in advance and thank you so much.
waiting to hearing from you soon.
The AT&T version is G900A, not G900F. Either way, you can't flash unofficial firmware versions. You can only flash custom roms if you are rooted and it's limited to a few.

yes i know the At&T version is G900A.
i'm just confused.my phone is G900f.regardless , when checking for software update , here's what or says in the screenshot below
by flashing i meant updating the firmware via Odin or kies to lollipop or marshmallow.
maybe my phone isn't An At&T version, but it has an At&T firmware installed.
that's why i can't Get it updated via OTA updates.
so i wan't to update it manually.
i'm just wondering if i flash A firmware of G900f on my actual Firmware , will it cause my phone to stuck in a bootloop or such thing ?

I just bought my second I9305 (first one was stolen) and it doesn’t connect to any network band. It is the same International model I had before that worked perfectly. I’m not sure if it has some country code limitation, but the frequencies and bands should be the right ones.
The phone is stock version. Baseband version XXUEMK1.
I’m not sure if I should flash to another Baseband. My cellular service provider works LTE at 1800 frequency and Band 3.
Any clues about what I should do?
Thanks

Hi,
Which is your stock firmware version JB 4.1.2 ? JB 4.3, or ?
Rooted or not ?
If you want to be sure your phone is OK, just reflash via ODIN your stock firmware from your country (and if you want from your carrier), it includes PDA, CSC and MODEM . Be sure your phone is an internationnal model i9305 and download your firmware HERE or HERE. I recommand this GUIDE from MaHo_66 xda member.

I've made some googling but I didn't found which modem version you have to use. I guess you have to find a latin america modem version but it has to be compatible with your current Android 4.3 build.
Did you previous stolen i9305 was running Android 4.3 as well ?
Do you know some ways to remember which versions you had on your previous phone ? Do you know someone else with the same phone ?

So try do a clean install by wiping all and flash latest build I9305XXUEML9 from italy (TIM) with Odin. It's Android 4.3 like you currently have.
You can grab it here for exemple : http://samsung-updates.com/details/24460/Galaxy_S_3_LTE/GT-I9305/TIM/I9305XXUEML9.html
Follow MaHo_66 guide.
Don't forget to backup.
I hope it will do the trick.
Hi,hbergold,why not flash the version firmware 4.4.4 Stock.Here you have two versions of 4.4.4:http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=GT-I9305 So you would be clear if the problem is the modem.I use the version DBT Poland, I live in Spain and everything works great.Version 4.4.4 also includes again the possibility of entering service mode and choose the bands.You can flash it with Odin.Pasate por aqui:http://www.htcmania.com/showthread.php?t=920004

Gracias viktorak, but does this modem work with LTE band 3 (1800) ?
I can`t confirm, but with the the Service Mode you can force the band you will.Have you read the post I linked?Your partner, also from Venezuala wanted to force the band 5 -3G, and according to reported- it works.Then,using Service Mode you can force the band you will.
You need to first install the 4.4.4 Rom and then if it doesn`t work normally use Service mode.

@hbergold, about KNOX, you told me you have an Android 4.3 build, so if it's an official one, you already have a KNOX bootloader (the one from sammy Android 4.3).
About bootloaders:
- if you ever flash 4.3 or 4.4 via Odin or updated from OTA you have new Bootloader from android 4.3 or from 4.4.4.
- if you bought your device and you dont know what bootloader you have, turn off your phone,reboot to download mode (hold power + volume down +home buttons) and when is there Knox flag 0x1 you have new bootloader and you are warranty off. When Knox flag is there 0x0 you have also new bootloader, but you are still in warranty and when you'll flash any custom recovery or unofficial firmware via Odin, you'll have then Knox 0x1 and you will be warranty off - so it's on your deciding. When isn't in download mode any records about about Knox, you still have old bootloader (from android 4.1.2).
- since the new sammy Android 4.4.4 bootloader, now there is also a line in blue color saying ´´SECURE DOWNLOAD : ENABLED''
About @MaHo_66 's opinion, please read here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=56506775&postcount=12. I hope he will not find any problem of sharing his post
I also recommand to upgrade to an Android 4.4.4 build but it's your choice and it depends on what you want to do with your phone (install custom ROM or not = warranty stuffs / if you want to sell the phone later, ....). Also I think you will not be able to flash any older official build (Android 4.1.2 or 4.3) if you upgrade to 4.4.4 because of the bootloader. I recommand it mainly because there is no more this random ******* stuck mdm_hsic_pm0 wakelock issue appeared since sammy Android 4.3 and which was a big problem for battery life. And also because it's smoother and faster.
I hope for you that @viktorak service mode trick will work for you if you decide to upgrade to android 4.4.4 official.
Hello.
I've just got a Samsung Galaxy S5. A friend of mine sent me one from US. I live in Romania, EU...
The question is, how can I install a stock G900F rom over a stock G900A rom(at&t)? A lot of apps and other things do not work in EU, at&t made sure of that.
So I need to install another stock rom, but made specially for EU. Well, that doesn't work, all of them fail in Odin.
I managed to root it, install a custom recovery, and I still can't install anything on it.
I am inexperienced in this area.
If anyone managed to do what I could not, I would much appreciate for his/her help.
Thank you!

Why do you say it isn't compatible with G909A? I've flashed it on my ATT device. You can flash any G900F or G900T Rom on the ATT s5 I've flashed them all.
If you're rooted with Safestrap you should be able to flash a stock G900F Rom on your device.
What steps are you using to do so? Custom Stock based T/W Roms are extremely stable with probably less bugs than a pure Stock update just released from Samsung.

OK.
First try this: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-G900F/ROM/
Last choice: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-G900F/COA/
Though I installed WanamLite Rom v1.3, it didn't let me install the optional bootload or lte modem for it. Damn security...
See what your device can do.

Then you tell me why you can't use Odin to flash G900F firmware onto a G900A device.
G900A has a locked bootloader you can't Odin Stock G900F firmware from sammobile onto it it will fail evetytime.
The only thing you can do is flash a G900F stockish Rom from the Galaxy s5 threads.
I'll let a dev explain it more clearly @ted77usa can you do that?
Or @cstayton? Thank you guys.
@Gordon2013
U can't return to stock G900F since u have ATT G900A with Locked Bootloader..... It would failed o signature verification check.But with Safestrap recovery u can flash Stock G900F ROM with some modification.U can only Return to stock G900A ATT official odin tar.md5 ....Period.....I know that's sucked but it is what it is until we have unlocked Bootloader.
Look for UNITY ROM by @cstayton that's the closest stock G900F or DK ROM by @bri315317 for custom ROM or XKrome_LimiTed by me to get 4G LTE

Well I kinda got it 'till this part. The damn bootloader is locked and can't be cracked...
But how did you managed to do it on your phone? Or you just put a custom rom? Custom roms based on G900F work, but the file system are still G900A... Guess on your phone too.
So does that mean the bootloader is impenetrable? Uncrackable? And, is this for all S5 series, or just the AT&T etc? What went on the S4? I kinda skipped from S2 to S5...
Thanks for all the trouble anyway.
EDIT: Maan... I installed Kies, and now MTP usb driver fails to install too... I'm starting to hate this phone.
