Im using nAa kernal but now i wana change it now, but while im going to flash mod my pc says USB DEVICE NOT RECOGNISED even i have all drivers for my xperia installed.
Please help me if someone can provide me proper steps.
U need to turn on it several times, if it does not work wipe dalvik cache and try again.

Try on some other PC.
- Try another PC
- Try re-install the driver
- Check the cable on another phone (just for make sure your cable is fine)
- Try another USB port

Hey guys i am using ics3333
And now my pc stopped recognizing my device whereas other device are getting recognized,
I flashed kernel again but nothing happened, wiped dalvik cache and cache partition too.. that too didnt helped.. my pc still not recognising USB help plz guys

1) try using cable to charge the phone, if it does, but does not connect , check cable, or try using another samsung usb cable
2) check micro usb slot for damage or misaligned pins, and also clean
3) try switching off WIFI, reboot phone and try to connect connect

My phone is not detect usb cable while connected on pc it shows only charging. But in odin it detect by pc what to do to mount usb storage on pc n connect kies???

Try toggling usb debug mode on adjustments, applications, development options.
Also, try restarting your pc with the phone connected. Try another usb port, or reinstalling the drivers.

i want to unlock the x8's bootloader using the flashtool but when i connect the phone to the computer, i can't access the 'plugins'(usb debugging on and drivers are installed) what am i doing wrong?
I had the same problem when I downloaded flashtools for the first time.
Try reinstalling driver's by running Gordon's gate app in flashtools/drivers folder

In the case installed drivers not working :-
That also depending up on ur pc OS
In windows 7 it will notify instantly(don't disconnect suddenly)
But in XP it will show new hardware found just ignore by cancle
let the phone connected for some time(atleast 2min) after notify ready to use ,connect again

Hey, been using this site for couple weeks now and loving all the roms you guys make but i'm having trouble getting my s5830 to connect through usb mode.
I'm running slimrom V3 and windows xp home edition, i've installed kies and all the drivers but when i open kies it just says connecting then gives an i/o error when i click on the new drive in my computer. Any ideas how i can get it working?
Kies won't detect your phone after root and after installing a custom rom. What happens when you plug you phone into the computer? Does your phone say in the notification bar USB connected

Oh ok thanks, didn't know that about kies.
Yea it shows in the notification bar, i can turn usb mode on an off but when i click the new drive in my computer it either crashes or gives an i/o error.
The drivers should be set up already if not try and reinstall them again you might aswel delete Kies unless you have a stock phone, what are you trying to do?

kies dnt detect custom roms so u need to flash stock rom with odin then kies go nnnnna detect ur phone

im not sure how to explain it.
when i connect my phone i can transfer files but when i enable usb debugging i cant like it just wont read my phone,my phone wont even charge

I used the drivers linked by DooM:

And have no trouble charging or accessing the phone when USB Debug is enabled.
Scroll down where you read:
"download the fastboot package with usb drivers (alternate drivers if the ones in package dont work OR this)"
He gives 3 diffirent options to install the drivers, Iam sure one of these should also work for you.
