Hey guys,
I did try to port [ROM][PORT][CM 10.1] Xperia Z to the Galaxy Mini (I used Cm10.1 Stable for SGM as base) just for fun and yes it's my first try to port something so I'm happy that it's booting and running and so on but there are some problems:
In the guide there was written that I should change the lcd density to the one like the port rom is (here:160) -> I did!
So the things where much to big so I changed it back to the old one (120)
-> the icons and so on are smaller but it's not good
- I tried many dpi values around 120 but either the lockscreen ring is not in mid or the icon drawer is cut at the bottom of screen
so now I don't know where the problem is I think it has something to do with the different resolution of this phones (gio:320x480 and mini:240x320)!
another problem is that xperia keyboard is force closing when you want to write something....
Hope someone can help me with this problems, so that I can finish my little work
Is really hard work if u try to port from bigger resolution to smaller. Port a rom from a qvga device (like Galaxy Fit)

You will have to resize framework etc to fix graphical issues.
And for keyboard 1.copy libXT9Engine.so from system/lib of xperia rom to yours and set the permissions
2.copy xt9 folder from system/usr from xperia rom to yours and set the permissions if you are having problem in above steps. I can provide you the keyboard's flashable zip
Or search around in the forum you will get that
Hit thanks if I helped you

AW: [Q] Rom Port problem from hvga to qvga resolution
ok thanks I'll try it when I get time for it maybe tomorrow evening...
is it easy to resize framework or is that a big thing ? because I am not so good in developing if It's a big thing maybe I should try something else with qvga like raducu said.
how can I set permissions on windows/computer (I only know how it works on android with file explorer) Is it that window in right click settings user network and so on where you've to check the boxes ?
regards nbock

You can resize multiple pngs using faststone image viewer
And permission are use using update script. And not that as you are saying. Check up your roms update script and try to understand the set_perm tags. Or search a guide for that. Set_perm is to set permission for a file and set_perm_ recursive for a folder.
Or you can resize apks using this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2009370
But it didn't worked for me. Maybe my pc problem
Hit thanks if I helped you

it sounds like I must resize everything to get this work but e.g. the settings looked very nice in my port so how I saw it it's just the launcher and the lookscreen.
this sounds not very easy for me :/ maybe I should start again with another port (qvga to mini) because I saw the permission lines at porting and they look not so easy...
thanks for your efforts
Sent from my LG-P880 using xda app-developers app
Ya resizing is not to easy but for the permissions I must say that you should understand them. You might be afraid of the digits written. You can Google about it to understand it as it is necessary for every Rom

Hello,
This is my first contribution here :fingers-crossed:
Direct access to Phone, SMS, MIUI Notes, Sound Recorder, Camera, ICS Gallery, Calender and Home screen of course
Lockscreen originally from ColorMix theme.. I don't know the Chinese designer's name.. But, credits go to him anyway
I modified the lockscreen to work on my rom (Arconium MIUI 2.511):
- removed the link to Chinese Microblogging app
- fixed link to open ICS gallery instead of MIUI gallery
- changed date format in calender tab
- removed lunar calender from calender tab
- moved date, date and day from top right corner to lower right corner for more space up
- new graphics.. black and white only
double tap on the bottom to open music player, controls show on top left (no album art)
download and install Genie Weather Widget to see the weather updates on lockscreen (in attachments)
ps: I've modified this for my self.. so bare in mind the screen resolution is my Arc S resolution (485×820)
credit to chrisbanks2 from DeviantArt for graphics

You can change that in Genie Weather app. I use metric (so celsius) since I'm in Europe

Well, I think the tricky part for me was getting the ADB DRIVERS installed fully/correctly. Install the drivers from any resource that you meet so from Flashtool, Fastboot and USB Drivers.. Just install them all!
Then you need to flash the stock .562 kernel... somehow its easier to root your Arc S with it, and don't worry once you're rooted you can revert to .587
Then use the rooting tool and it should work. Just get the ADB Drivers installed from various sources and flash .562 kernel
Or otherwise, you still can unlock your bootloader and get it locked again

Is it possible to write an app changing the lockscreen wallpaper (e.g. every hour)?
I would wish whidest possible compatibilty! 2.3 to 4.2 would be great.
If there is no API soltion maybe somebody knows a path to file that has to get changed or something like that.
Would be really great if sb. had a solution for this!

Anyone seen this : HERE :silly:
i am seeking a good recommendation HERE!
before u guys run at me i need to say that i already used the SEARCH
hay guys i know every ROM didn't include advance keyboard! and they include just default input and Android keyboard.
but i want to use more advanced keyboard and mind predicting keyboard like Swiftkey and Toucpal.
but i know X8's CPU is not well when comes to process those heavy task's and my X8 crashed several
times when using Swiftkey 4 latest its crash, completely slow down my X8. its a PAID version get from
my brother for free! hehehe shared.
and another weird thing is i can't found Touchpal(a famous keyboard) in Playstore
and also searched for APK but not found a proper version! all in CHINESE
or
any other keyboard recommendation welcomed. specially for Stock users X8
Touchpal is an excellent keyboard..
works like butter...
if you cant find it in playstore then it would be better to search in the google for apk..

help people who are in need,
crate few useful guides and then you are eligible to the recognized contributor..
and for putting GIF in your signature..
first find a GIF that you want to make your signature.
now go to the edit signature option and select the post image URL option.
now post the link of the GIF there and save it.
it should work even if you are not a RC. .
