After upgrading to JB I have lost the autosync widget. How can I get it back. It is not showing in widgets anymore.

JB does not have stock autosync widget anymore. You have to manually set which services may be synced or not in settings.

There's no widget but you can download apps from the play store. I use small toggle for small apps from the play store.
Btw, if you want to turn off all sync at once
Settings > data usage > menu (top right) and uncheck auto sync data.

is there a reason why this was removed from JB?
Equally why don't more apps make better use of Google Cloud Messaging

Does this has a shortcut to enable/disable Mobile data? Currently have to go into setting for this. In 2.3.x we could do through the pop up enable through the Power button.
I believe you need to download some 3rd party widget to do that. For me Data Enabler widget works perfectly
Weirdest thing happened, just installed data enabler. But can find it in the widget drawer. :-(

I've decided to use the music lockscreen as it allows instant access to my music when getting in the car etc.
However, earlier today it decided to freak out - I'd wake the phone up, the screen would come on then go out and repeat this cycle for a while until defaulting to the standard lockscreen.
However, in the options, music lockscreen was still selected. Turns out none of the specialist lockscreens are now working. All i can ise is either default or no lockscreen.
Any ideas for a cause/solution?

might be as simple as turning the phone off an back on
I went to turn it off and back on but thought I'd check it again before doing so. It was fine, guess the phone just had a silly moment!

You can't get rid of the time and weather info on the lockscreen by changing them in settings, ViperROM is the only ROM that even has a Mod in it to allow you to hide the lockscreen weather and clock.
That's not the problem. But there is only the weather and clock, even if I choose music (no music control) productivity (still the cloud an clock only) and pictures don't show either

Hi I have a nook HD+ and always get shortcuts automatically being downloaded and showing up on my desktop/tabletop. These are always for some game, or security etc...I could get 5 a night..I always have to press them..wait then tap remove from tabletop. So how do I prevent this from automatically doing it.
In settings/home I have Active shelf turned off, Inbox is on, everything else on the page is unchecked (show recent drawer, etc...)
Any help is appreciated

I believe it is your settings in Play Store. The app keeps reinstalling and you have Play Store set to put an icon on your home screen.

There are no setting like that, that I saw in play store

The problem is probably caused by the SmartKey app, try disabling the music control and if that does not work uninstall SmartKey.

Thank you it worked !
For every app I install, a shortcut is automatically added to a home screen. It's not a huge deal since it takes a second to delete, but I'm curious if there's a way to prevent this happening and just have the shortcut in the app drawer? I cannot find anything in the settings to turn of the "feature".

why don't you check google play settings ? there is a checkbox for that (checked on by default)

Go to the Play Store -> Settings and uncheck Add icon to Home screen.
Duh... I totally forgot about the play settings! There I was looking in the phone/launcher settings. Thanks.
