i am on jb 4.1.2 xxlsc angry 3
i need to flash PARANOIDANDROID 2.57.2 [Utacka] without raising the flashing binary or yellow triangle
can any experienced person offer proper steps to do that
what i understand is that i can flash hydracore kernel in cwm then full wipe and flash PA then gapps is that right ???
Re: need help flashing PARANOIDANDROID 2.57.2 [Utacka]
Angry ROM has philz kernel. So its safe to flash. Make sure the kernel is the latest version.
Boot into recovery and go to philz settings. Choose clean before new ROM install
Then select install zip. Choose the ROM and install.
Then install the gapps.
Reboot

This also happened to me when coming from jb leaks. Can you make it to recovery? If yes then go there and install a kernel which is supported by aosp roms like hydracore and do manual wipes i.e. Clear cache, factory reset, preload, system, dalvik cache then isntall the paranoid rom... If you can't make it to recovery then you have got only option of download mode either flash a whole rom then install philz kernel and then paranoid(after doing wipes) to be on safer side but you don't want to flash a whole rom just boot into download mode flash a philz .tar kernel from odin(it will increase the binary counter and a yellow triangle at n7000 screen) then boot into recovery and install paranoid(after doing manual wipes).. Hope this works for you Goodluck..!

And when you successfully flashed the pa rom then use triangle away app to reset binary counter and remove the triangle from n7000 screen

Have performed a full wipe in ICS? Try flashing a stock gb Firmware with odin and do a full wipe, then re root and flash the ROM.
Or if You still have CWM You can flash abyss kernel, reboot recovery and then re flash the ROM.

abyss kernel is GB, for u to stay safe during the wipe. The usual procedure is to flash abyss from CWM, reboot recovery (not the device), do a full wipe and then immdiately flash a custom rom.
CM9 has a safe kernel as is compiled from source and not from Samsung kernel release as some other custom roms do....just read the dev's threads. Take into consideration that not all custom kernel works with custom roms. Make sure that u choose matching pairs!...:good:
You can safely format data in cwm on cm9 kernel. However I suggest that you should reflash PA 0.5

Hi All,
Can anyone guide me with the installation for this rom.
My current setup :
1. Hydracore kernel 4.3b
2. Running ICS Stunner
Can i directly full wipe and then install the asylum build 5 or need to do anything else.
Thanks all!
Yes.You are on a safe kernel as so you can do a full wipe and install the rom
Yeap. Hydracore is a safe kernel.
So, have you installed the build 5?

Hi Guys,
I have been trying to flash CM10 after I finished playing around with the latest XXLSA JB leak. I also had installed the fixed PhilZ kernel on this ROM. However I am facing the status 7 error when I am trying to install the CM10 zip from my CWM. I attempted search and it said that flashing the original Boot.img should be able to help me. I tried that but still no respite.
I am currently on the XXLS2 leak with PhilZ stock kernel and CWM.

Check if your zip file is corrupted? MD5 ok?
Btw you should post this at Q&A section instead of General.
I had installed the same zip earlier and it had installed fine. So I know that the zip and md5 are perfectly fine.

Did you reboot recovery after flashing Philz Kernel? I had the same problem. I´ve done all wipes, formatet cache, system ect. Then it works. I think the thing is to reboot the recovery after flashing the Kernel!
I tried reboot recovery as well as reboot system. No help. Does not work from stock recovery either.

isn't LRT an ICS Kernel? I am on XXSL2 right now and I have flashed quite a few ROMs using this kernel earlier. This trouble has started after i Installed the XXLSA leak.
As phillz said in the xlsa the new kernel has updated binary hence you are facing that error. Flash a ics safe kernel using odin and then flash your rom.
i have faced the same problem but when i flashed the slim bean rom.it flashed without any error. give it a try it might also work for you

you wont be using LRT kernel to boot your rom with whether it is CM10 or JB. You will just be using it as a tool to wipe and flash from. its safe and more reliable than LSA kernel
In that case I have both PhilZ ICS Kernel and the HydraCore Kernel. Let me give it a shot and let you know.

Flash other kernel(hydra?speedmod?) in current cwm,and then reboot recovery.
Just finished restoring my backup. Flashing HydraCore worked.

Hello, Im on jellybam and I get games little laggy. I done full instal, full wipes, full formats. Everything is clean. And I heard that ICS stock ROM is for best performance and games running very smooth. Is that true? If yes, which one Stock rom I have to install. Im from Lithuania, East Europe. Do I need first downgrade to GB and then write ICS? Or easiest way would be flash GB and try upgrading vie Kies?
I was on JellyBam and have went back to a stock-based rom, but I installed Sammy stock roms first. The process is simple...
1) Download GingerBread rom for your model from here
2) Get Odin, and follow the instructions on the thread to flash GB.
3) You can now either download a stock ICS rom from that thread, or do an OTA update, it's up to you. Using Odin will not increase the counter as it is an official rom.
4) Flash ICS using Odin/OTA
5) DO NOT WIPE ON ICS UNLESS USING A SAFE KERNEL. Personally, I'd go for Philz kernel, so download it and follow the instructions on that thread.
All you need to make sure is to be on a safe kernel whilst on ics. So you can flash ics using odin and the install a safe kernel and do a reset to get going.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
Ok, so I need go to GB, then ICS and then to safe kernel, yes? And when I flash safe kernel then I should do full wipe and flash ROM again or just wipe?
Load the rom you want on pc and the corresponding philz kernel to ext sd
You can install ics using pc odin
Once it's done, boot into recovery and install philz kernel and then boot into recovery again and do a factory reset.

Ok, I try it tommorow
philz kernel is better or speedMod is better for performance?
Philz is Samsung Kernel. No tweaks. If you want good battery the speedmod performance then try hydracore

I looking for stock ICS and I found only One ICS for Baltic region N7000XXLQ3 and there is no philz kernel that is near XXLQ3 , so what to do? I tried KIES but it just showing rotation CONECTING... and nothing happpening, i reinstalled drivers, but still nothing.
As far ics is concerned, most of the ics kernels work with any rom. So worth a try

Download the stock rom you want from the link you were provided above and download the philz kernel for that firmware and flash them in mobile odin. You don't need to flash the kernel after the firmware has been flashed. With mobile Odin you can do it all in just one step.

Well, you can flash kernel at the same time you flash the firmware in mobile Odin by selecting kernel in that option. Your build last three letters have to match the kernel version...check philz thread that is explained in,detail there.
