The cyanogen camera is just horrible - it's putting me off the whole ROM.
Is there anyone who has successfully reverted back to the Gingerbread 2.3.6 camera - which is a very good camera app.
Also, can someone explain how to allow permissions on an apk app?

Hi all,
Try camera zoom fx as it is the best camera app i've tried in the market. I have the .apk i'm not sure is it OK to upload it here as it is a paid app. I can give it to anyone who needs. (even upload here if it is ok ) Unfortunately, no updates will be available coz it is not purchased from the market. though all functionalities are perfectly working

Posting a paid apps apk is warez, and not allowed by xda.
Don't even offer to give people the apk, you could get in trouble with the mods.
Also support the dev's and pay for a great app.

This is 4.2 Camera app. I have tested it working on Stock, Rooted, Deodexed 4.1.2. AND CM-10.0.0
All features in the camera app are working for me. This will also change your gallery to the updated version as well (because it is packaged together).
To install:
YOU WILL NEED APPROX 10M FREE IN YOUR SYSTEM PARTITION!!!
1) Check the amount of space available in your system partition. You can just go to /system with root explorer and look in the upper left for available space.
2) If you do not have enough space you can flash Slim LatinIME, reboot and check your available space.
*This will remove all languages from the keyboard except english. So if you need another language do not use this.*
3) If you have enough space then flash only 4.2 Camera for Xoom (make a nandroid first if you like)
THIS IS WORKING ON:
STOCK 4.1.2.
CM-10.0.0.
IF IT DOES NOT WORK ON YOUR ROM PLEASE INCLUDE A LOGCAT IN YOUR POST. THX.
Credit to dmmarck for the files
I only had to mod the script and include the right files for this to work on the Xoom.

flashed this on eos 155 and it deleted my camera/gallery
Nothing changed on CM10. No photosphere

Please could someone with EOS 155 try to flash this zip? and let us know the results?
Does it work fine or not?

check to make sure the permissions got set correctly for GoogleGallery.apk (rw-r-r) if they didnt just change it with root explorer, a reboot may be needed.
also, the script does not delete the original gallery, so if it dont work on eos than just delete GoogleGallery.apk from system/app and you should be fine.
assuming im able to get it to work, does this version have a functioning photosphere?
Same here.No photosphere on cm10.
in theory it should work, we have a gyroscope/accelerometer in our xooms
work on cm10 20121029 nigtlies ,
only editor contrast crash
using eos 155 photosphere is not working here too

heres a logcat, i hope it includes the necessary information. this is when the panorama mode force closes the app with no warning
Working on Wingray
Team EOS 3 stable.
Just flashed it from recovery and rebooted.
Its quite funky, thanks.
edit: The "apply tiny planet" function does not work. The app just bins to launcher. Still cool though.
Whats an easy way to get hold of my logcat. Where does it live?

Here's what I did:
Install the app - I grabbed mine from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1966313
Install from recovery
Fixed permissions from recovery
Profit
Remember that to use photosphere you need to use the new 4.2 camera app - which will appear next to the current one
You have to use the 4.2 gallery to view the images, or view them in google+
Gallery is a little unstable, but it works OK

Hello everybody,
is there any working port of the stock Gallery app from MIUI for AOSP-based custom ROMs?
I am on EvoX rom right now with ANX camera but I miss some features like sky replacement or adjusting the aperture afterwards.
Can someone help me out or send a download link for a working port?
Thanks in advance
I've been looking for this too. Stock AOSP/LOS gallery app is really horrible.

Google Photos is even more horrible. It is so unorganized in my opinion and too bloated with the services from Google.
Try oneplus gallery.

I also want the MIUI gallery I love the sky replacement feature
Any solution to install gallery to any other positions phone

Try mod QP gallery. You can find it in the apps development section.
Look the Gallery QuickPic is complete gallery app.

Hi everyone!
I've just found a way to install Miui Gallery on a custom rom.
The solution : Magisk ! Here is a video tutorial (from a youtuber named KTNTECH) :
Enjoy !
(for having the sky replacement feature, install version 1. There is a way to enable it on earlier version but it's to complicated for me .)
