Somebody help me!
I attempted to install Ubuntu 11.04 onto a separe partition on my MacBook 6.1.
It apparently screwed with EFI, and now, whenever I boot, I need to do the boot sequence 5 times to get into any OS.
I have to power the mac on & off 5 times...
During the first bootup, the Sleep LED will begin to flash rapidly, and then I'll hear a long beep, then a black screen.
Has anybody experienced this? Somebody help. I can't afford a new Logicboard.

The confusing parts are terminal commands that they want you to execute.

It sucks that the fix is RIGHT THERE, and I can't even understand it. :'(
- Download Firmware Update 1.7 here.
Open terminal and copy & paste this into the terminal:
Code:
mv MBP55_00AC_03B_LOCKED.scap MB61_00C8_B00_LOCKED.scap
and now:
Code:
sudo bless -mount / -firmware MB61_00C8_B00_LOCKED.scap --verbose
Shutdown and restart. Update the firmware and reboot again.

Don't know. It doesn't say in the original post. Try the desktop or the download folder.
Hi,
I have compiled amule, a port of emule for linux, on atrix webtop. You can find the link below.
Prerequesites:
- webtop 2.3.5 fruitcake
- fixed apt-get dependicies. Jaunty distro must not be broken: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1192488
- working lxterminal
- amule_2.3.0~svnr9928-1_armel.deb ---> http://www.multiupload.com/FPV807LHMA
Steps:
Open lxterminal;
[email protected]:/$ sudo dpkg -i --root=/osh amule_2.3.0~svnr9928-1_armel.deb
then run;
[email protected]:/$ amule
If there is any dependicy problems, feel free to post here.
Nice job!
I don't use webtop but this should be useful.
And...maybe you can make another port of torrent

It can be used as file sharing. legality is related with the person using it. this is also a package in ubuntu distros.

This is a tool, not a warez. There are plenty of legitimate uses for BitTorrent.

lol well i have windows and linux dual booting on both laptop and desktop lol
Run as sudo
If it still doesn't work,then
Menu>Users and Groups>assign your account administrator and root permissions.
Might not be completely accurate as I am not using Ubuntu right now

Not really necessary since you can just remove it manually without flashing a rom to do it for you
Also, aroma is an installation customization tool, not part of any rom's name....

Precisely what I was going to say and you can get rid of pretty much 99% of them as that is what I did.
You can't disable all system apps through application manager.. Unless 4.1.2 is different on the One than it is on the S3.
Freeze with Titanium sounds a viable option.

I found a line of code that installs an app to transfer files from ubuntu to android, if anyone else needs to make that transfer here is the line
sudo apt-get -y install mtp-tools mtpfs gmtp
This will install a ubuntu app named gMTP and when you open that, you just attatch your usb with your phone, and click connect
Edit: after looking properly rather than posting to xda like a plank, I also found this lovely app incase anyone needs it

GMTP? Yes it works fine but its not like using wmp to transfer music or anything, you have to completely order your folders from scratch and if you have ocd Like Me that can take a while... It works brilliantly for file transfers but you can only Mount internal or SD one at a time which may be a little annoying otherwise its the best thing for Linux
