[REQ][MOD][JB] Headset Longpress Media Control - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Friend,
As we are all aware that in GB/ICS using Poweramp (or others) headphone long press is used to change track. But since JB long pressing headset key brings Google voice search. However we can disable that application (google search) for rooted phones but still long pressing is not usable in JB for track changing. Is there any process (or mods) by which we can enable the headset key long press to change track in JB?
Just to give our brilliant developers some lead here is some mods on JB for other device....

I used to control PowerAmp in GB by double/triple headset button press in GB and it worked for Next/Previous.
In JB it doesn't work.

It works for me in Jellybean. :good:

It depends on ROM or kernel???
For me Play/Pause works (single press of headset button), but it lags a lil' bit.
But multiple press doesn't work...
In GB it worked in all music players.

What rom do you have it working on? I'm on Infinitum and I get "Unfortunately Sono Voice has stopped "
This works horribly on my AOKP b36. Dropped and installed in system/apps with proper permissions as well.
Anyone figure out how to get it to save appointments and alarm times? I feel like the standard Android text-to-speech is a lot more advanced that this skinned Vlingo.
I do love me some Flipboard, it runs flawlessly for me.
Can't wait for my SIII!

Im on EXTRAordinary ICS rom, the fc's are because of non oficcial SGS3 rom apps I got force close with music player, let wait for official SGS3 apps to be ported
If you are on the home screen or lock screen, does saying "Hi Galaxy" actually wake up the voice prompt for anyone?
That doesn't seem to happen for me. I will say that I just installed the apk rather than putting it in /system/app (that folder did not have enough space)
Its fun to play with but I am having a ton of force closes. When it tries to access GPS or web browser it locks up. Still pretty cool thanks for this

I've always been a big fan of the built in voice functionality. The one thing I wish it would have is something like the "Wake up galaxy" voice control so that I could avoid having to mess with my phone at all while driving. Does anyone know if there is a way to get that functionality with the build in voice search?

[MOD] SoftKeys for ICS/JB Roms

Hi !
I've made a little zip, based on SGS3 Softkeys enabler for my Nexus S, because my capacitive keys are broken. This zip enable Softkeys.
It works on Nexus S, and should work on Nexus S 4G. I've installed it with CWM 6.0.1.0 in CM10, and it works.
Tested on :
- CM10 : Works
- Knzo's AOSP Strawberry : Works (thanks to af.wirapraja for the report)
- MIUI 2.8 : Works (thanks to dollabillgates for the report)
- ParanoidAndroid : Doesn't work (NOT SURE, need more reports !! Thanks to danielfg87 for the report)
FAQ :
- How can I disable the backlight ? Use BLD (Backlight Dimmer). It's a features from kernels (like Air Kernel or Matr1x). Set time of BLD to 0 with NSTools.
- Can you change the size of the buttons ? Sorry, but no. Because change size of buttons is possible, but only with one mod per rom, and few modifications. Ask other members or do it yourself.
- Can you customize the navbar ? Change color or other things ? No ! It needs framework-res modifications, and like size of buttons, it's only one per rom. Codename Android can do that !

Thanks !

I can't do anything for that, because with my mod, we can only set navbar at 0 or 1 (from build.prop). To change size, we need to change some things in framework-res.apk, and it will not be compatible with all ROMs. Buttons are in standard size (like the GNexus).
For the light, use BLD !

It's because Nexus S is not prepared for the navigation bar. Some applications, like Google Voice or Trebuchet can have some problem. I can't fix it ...
This will work on codename?
I use nstools to disable backlight button by set bld to zero, but it doesn't really work. When I touch a key, 3 others light up for a little bit time (light up then off immediately). Anyone has this problem too?

yes. correct me if im wrong but the mod is called as swipe/sweep to wake. you just slide your finger across the screen and the screen will turn off. but this mod supports a custom kernel which has the mod in it. just search PGM nexus in the playstore. i hope that this mod will be available to our XSP.

[MOD]LG G2 Themed Keyboard for CM/AOSP 4.3/4.4

Here is a flashable zip of the LG G2 Keyboard for CM/AOSP 4.3 and 4.4 builds. This runs on my Tab 2 7.0 running Slim with ease.
Download the following:
LG G2 Zip for 4.3 and 4.4 ROMs.
Reboot into recovery
Flash both Zips
Clear Dalvik and Cache
Reboot
Enjoy
This has 4 great themes, has a Swype like feature, and more.
Voice input does not function on 4.4, still trying to fix that.

Working perfectly with my gtab2 p3110 with unofficial CM11. The swipe feature is impressive, does not miss a word.
Curiously, it works waaay better than on my LG P880 with CM10.3, where the keys seem some 10 pixel offset.

Yes, it,s incredible, but depending on the configuration there are a few mistakes, for example horitzontal keyboard some keys doesn't work, but in vertical mode works fine.
I'm using CM 11 nightly 2014-01-18.

Now that you mention it, horizontal mode doesn't work properly when swyping, key press does work. Anyway, it doesn't bother me since I use it almost exclusively in portrait mode. Something to keep in mind though.

Yes, in portrait it works well, but I don't want to hear my wife complaining .
Works fine in P5110 with official CM11, how do you change colors?

Cant find the settings you are talking about, many help?thanks
Go into the language input then the lg keyboard, it is in the settings somewhere. Also, there is a gear symbol on your keyboard, hit that it will take you to it.
