Odp: [Q] Qauestion about flashing stock rom
The easiest way would be rooting, installing cwm, backup with cwm of your stock rom, than flash custonexus. When you want go stock, you restore system from backup and eventually unroot.

Just use nvflash to get a virgin phone and everything should be fine.

If I update my phone to the stock 2.3.4, will it be like any other flash? What i mean is that if I do that, it will delete any root history or any " warranty breaker " stuff, so as to the phone to be clean.
Ty.
I'm not sure, but I think, it will completly refresh /system etc.
But your personal data like apps (non su) will be available after the update.
Otherwise wipe everything in cwm and do this. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1448803
Do you want to send you phone to repaircenter, or why do you have this question?

Can someone get me the ROM for the stock 2.3.4 v20o ?
Because i updated from my rooted 2.2.2 v10f and now its all messed up.
For exemple, in Quadrant i had scores of 1500 / 1600
Now i have 1000/1100
I have superuser, and i cant use it, such as the other ROOT programs.
Need it fast, so i can flash it using SmartFlash
Choose here your desired stock Rom: http://lg-phone-firmware.com/index.php?id_mod=1

Have you used download mode while using kdz?, it worked for me, but in another device so use it at own risk
1- Grab your .kdz from here: http://lg-phone-firmware.com/index.php?id_mod=1
2- Download LGExtract tool from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1566532
3- If you follow the instructions on pages 1 and 3 of LGExtract thread, you will end with your AP and CP files, ready to be flashed with SFT.

Only smartflash but if you want to back stock for warranty you have to flash ROM from your carrier. If you bought phone from carrier ofcourse . If not you can use clean stock by smartflash.

Sent from my LG-P970 using Tapatalk
What happens when you use smartflash ?
I ask because smartflash cleans everything and if you get a flash stock ROM without root you have phone like from the factory .

I found out how to flash a patched stock Rom so i could install a custom Rom, which i did, I flashed Marvel.
But Which one is better, Marvel or Zeus?
Both roms are great.
I think, Zeus has a better performance, but Marvel a bigger support of themes etc.
But you can try it for yourself. Flash one of them via cwm, if you like, use this and if not, flash the other via cwm.
I prefer cm7/miui, maybe you can look at this roms too.

Presently, i am using Zeus 6.39 ROM...
I have some doubts..
As in a month or two, ICS is going to be released, so I wanted to know best suggestions and procedure to upgrade to ICS.
I think it's not possible to upgrade to ICS from Zeus 6.39 ROM, phone may get bricked.
My plan is to Flash the Official ROM that is country related and is official release. Then upgrade to ICS with LG update tool. Other than this if there is any best procedure to upgrade without bricking or difficulties, please suggest me & it will also be helpful for so many people.
Don't comment on this post or create flame for time-pass.

Too optimistic post . BTW just to inform you, if and if your country got the ICS update over OTA then check xda back if your country version (or similar) has been posted here as backup or flashable zip. Download it and flash or restore by CWM. Dont not install superuser as it will be going after update anyway Now you can check LG update tool or OTA, menu in mobile->about option. Thats nnot much tough. Is it?

I think no need of new trick for rooting ICS
Bcoz....as we have ROM Converter & CWM injector....we can download the ROM and inject CWM...
so, we can have rooted ICS...
Let us have a try when it releases..

Wot did you mean? ROM convertor or injector is not new thing (may be for OB) if it was like this then all mobiles (android based) will need just a converter to do it for any version rooting. Have you listen about "bootlocker"? And if wot you say will happen then only thing will be left to port ROM convertor to any models and dats all.
I didn't know about bootlocker
so it mean ROM converter is only for OB for only Gingerbread ? not for ICS ?
Dear friends,
I always stuck at SE logo whenever I try to install custom rom. Here is what I do:
1. Root My stock 2.1 with Flashtool
2. Install Busybox with flash tool
3. Copy xrecovery's 3 files to system/bin
4. Restart in xrecovery and Choose Install custom zip
5. After installation, I reboot and stuck!!!
I have tried "MiniCM7-2.2.1-shakira" and "GingerDX-v029-shakira.zip"
Any Help?? I dont want to unlock my bootloader.
Thnx
"MiniCM7-2.2.1-shakira" and "GingerDX-v029-shakira.zip" uses custom kernel.must on unlockbootloader
use gingerdx v29 for stuck

No, how to do this?? is there any risk of hard brick?
No just find the baseband file and flash it on flashtool
Sent from my X8 using xda app-developers app
i recommend to you to start from scratch, 2.1, root, flash baseband, install busybox, install CWM recovery, the full wipe and flash rom, you can flash the baseband with flashtool, and i think there is no risk, i have done it several times, the baseband xxxx15 is required to flash custom roms.

If you have installed gingerdx there is no need to flash baseband xxx15 because you already have it!
