I didn't. But I love having it.
I wonder if I can take the keyboard from my 8.9 and install it on my wife's 7. She would love to be able to swype on her 7.
Let me know if you manage that, I would love that.

So i have a kindle fire hd 7 and i am trying to use the screencast app. (I do have a rooted kindle fire hd) so whenever i record it seems to work fine,
But whenever i go to watch it it has a black screen with my audio (it never shows my screen). Well i went around looking for a way to fix the problem and androidcowboy helped me out and said that i need to disable Hardware overlays. Someone please tell me how to do that from the
Kindle fire hd 7! Thank you.
I Got The Same Problem!
Ya, I Got the Same Problem. Anyone Got Any Fixes? If Then That Would Be Great

Having root does not give the developers option, it just gives you root. The developers option, for KFHD users, is attainable only through a custom rom. Whether a particular rom is screencast compatible is hit or miss.

Hi Guys!
I'm hoping this wasn't asked before but I've searched for a while and couldn't find an answer to my problem.
After Rooting my Device following this youtube video (Instructions at the bottom, no need to watch the video):
youtube com/ watch?v=EMOcv5H6TzU I'm stuck after the recovery boot from fastload.
The device starts normally, I see the orange logo and then in restarts itself and starts again.
It never goes to the blue logo like it is stated and I have no access via usb because the device shuts itself down after a few seconds.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance for you help.
You will need a fastboot cable to fix it.

Yeah thought the same based on other threads.
Already ordered one.
What do I need to do once I have that cable?
Sorry I'm no to that kind of stuff :/
Which kindle is this the 2012 HD or the 2013 hd? 2013 has no front facing camera.

2012 with Front facing Camera.
Thanks for your help so far!
OK good, then use kindle fire first aid to restore it, it's here.
