Well I have just read the review of the XZ over on Endaget http://www.engadget.com/2013/02/20/sony-xperia-z-review/
and I'm happy that Sony have implemented the use of Spotify and other apps from the lockscreen! "Since last year's Xperia models, we can now welcome Google Now to the fold, while Spotify and other apps are now accessible from the lock screen."
This has made me so happy and I really hope this doesn't mean you can access it from the notification bar in the lockscreen, I missed this feature from my HTC One X; Samsung don't offer it with TouchWiz unless you have a password, where it defaults to vanilla JB lockscreen.
Can anyone that has a XZ confirm this please?? :fingers-crossed:
I really hope this is correct, it's a small feature I know, but god it makes life so easy for me!
This has been available on all 2012 Xperia's since ICS, by the way. The lockscreen controls use the standard Android API's, which means any app that plays music and implements them can show up on the lockscreen. One of the Sony niceties!

it cannot be done in android as every manufacture use different method for their systemui.apk like Samsung give toggles in notification but HTC do not and like this there are so many difference so universally it is not possible but can be done for a set of custom rom, apple is the single manufacturer for iPhone and uses same method for building everything.
also there is one for cm9 roms which lets you do some modification in statusbar(don't remember the name though)
okay thanks anyways for reply.
Anyone tried this LWP from Sony ?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...p.wallpaper.ambienttime&feature=search_result
its called the ambient time , but looks like its cpu and battery hungry , all though looks verycool
Nice one  but dont use it cuz of the battery drain etc
One & Only Xperia Z
I saw this back when I had my arc S in 2011 (it was an old version), I didn't really like it that much.
But thanks for the share anyway, I completely forgot about this.

I had the Ambient Time launcher on my X10 with this wallpaper. It worked fine but when the X10 got the 2.3 update I never used this again.

LoL! yeah, the same here!
Really laggy on stock launcher...but I have to admit that almost every Live Wallpaper have lags on the stock launcher, except PAPERLAND...
The problem isn't regarded to the raw power of the phone...but in the far from good stock launcher's optimization...

thanks anyway
Stock LWP Cosmic Flow is better and I don't feel like it drain battery too much.
Hey guys,
I'm new over here because I just upgraded from my Xperia S to an Xperia T (dont ask haha) so hi .
basically the first thing I thought when using the phone was what a waste the buttons were as they took up quite a good part of the screen, and so despite being 0.3" bigger than the Xperia S this was not noticeable. I also hated the aspect ratio of the screen love a good 16:9
anyway after searching on here and around for ages I finally came across a simple solution that works very well
its this app here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gmd.hidesoftkeys
I bought the pro version and its def worth it, because this is such an amazing set up!
sorry if this is already well known on here, but thought I'd share anyway, oh and if you find you can't activate the buttons in the camera mode its because you have to swipe from the side (it thinks its landscape, same with full screen games)
Very nice, I love this
I like it too

Thanks, just had a play with it. but prefer the one I posted in this thread because you can customise much more like make the icons xperia and not google nexus style, also it hides the current on screen buttons without needing to do anything yourself so more simple for people.
also guys what I realised is its best to select 'spoof soft keys' otherwise apps will open without the more options button so you'll have no way to get into further settings etc.
I'm getting tired of the stock lock screen on the SP, so just wondering what are your favorite lock screen apps to use? I've tried widgetlocker before but not my type of thing.
I really loved the lockscreen of Gingerbread and ICS Xperia devices (If anyone knows how to get these lockscreens on Xperia SP please share!)
Sorry if this is in the wrong thread.
pretty photo is not suit me
i like use some simple picture with diffrent color or style, change sometimes for example when spring to summer

Android 4.2.2 Lockscreen with widgets, like Dash Clock, the best looking and useful widget for 4.2.2 :good:
cm10.1 lockscreen is the best.
I agree, Vanilla Android lockscreen is one of the best after having a Galaxy Nexus for a while, but I've gotten bored of that lol.
Hello, is there a way to change the clocks for the lockscreen? Other then those 3 options? I'm on stock rooted firmware.
Thank you!

Download other clock widgets from the app store, long press on the lockscreen clock - swipe up to delete - and long press again to choose the widget you prefer.
On lollipop not working anymore
Nope.only works on kitkat. For now no possibility to change clock

I've never been so glad to be on the old version of Android. Lollipop is the first update that seemed to take away more useful features than it added.

Agreed, but material design is a bit overrated to me. The colors almost look to cartoon-like and I feel like a simple theme could have been applied to kitkat to give us the same look.
Anyway, that's the great thing about Android. If you don't like it, you can always change it.

Thats the game. Dont like it, dont play it. And we have alternatives. Miui f.e
I like Android 5.0 , but the ability to change the lockscreen clock doesn't have to be removed, oh well, waiting for Andoird M then
