Accelerometer/Gyroscope not working ! Help plz... - LG Optimus 4X HD

Hello everyone,
I got my Optimus 4x about 3 months ago brand new. I have always protected it with a case on. So far i love the phone but just last week out of nowhere the Accelerometer/Gyroscope stopped working. As in i cannot tilt the phone during games or watch movies in full screen when i tilt the phone. I checked Auto-rotate in settings...did factory reset ...reboot and all that option...but it hasn't worked yet. What else can i do..help please. Im on wind network in Canada, if that matters . Thanks in advance.

Have you tried calibrated it? I'm not trying to discourage you, but gyro sensor is hardware related and there's a chance that you need to have it fixed.
I've read in HTC One X forum where a guy experienced this and did everything he could and ended up in the service center and got a replacement.

When i try to calibrate it says "calibration failed". I got this phone as a gift actually , so im not sure how to check for warranty.

[Q] Weird sound given off by Vibrator thru Speaker

Hello All,
My Z1 has recently begun to give off a sort of feedback when it vibrates (via the speakers).
I've ran diagnostic tests on my phone and all tests seem to come back positive and error-free.
However, when I run the Vibration test, sometimes the vibrator works perfectly fine (for about two runs), and then it vibrates with the negative "ZzzzzZzzZ" sound.
Is anyone else experiencing this issue with their Z1? Perhaps someone else (if anyone is experiencing it as well) can further elaborate on the issue. Would really like to get this issue fixed without having to send it back to Sony :crying:
I have the same problem with my Z1 (6903). There's a weird buzzing sound from the speaker right after the vibrator activate. Would love to be able to fix this without sending to Sony as well.

Guys i had same problem few weeks back, then two days back vibrator stopped working and this zzzzzzzzzzzz sound was the only thing i can notice. So went to center and today got it replaced. So no more workarounds for this issue. Go to center and get it replaced.

Ahh, that's unfortunate. I live in the Bahamas, so doing that is pretty difficult for me at the moment. Were you able to go to any Sony store, or did you have to go directly to a service center? How long did you have to wait for your replacement?

I submitted my phone yesterday morning and person in charge told me they will try to do any sort of update first and if still there is an issue, they will replace it. Today morning when i went there, he told issue is not sorted wait for 10 minutes. and then i got new brand replacement in 15-20 minutes..:laugh:
I will suggest you to go directly to service center.

Damn. Lol that is a toughie. Only service center I know of in the US is located in Texas :/
Edit: There are actually 4 locations; NJ, LA, Texas and San Jose, Cali.

Ohhh that sounds tooooo far from your location. Try repair your phone via SUS or PCC. But first take full backup. Hope this can solve your issue. Though chances are very less.

Yeahh, I doubt it would fix my prob. I'm going to have to tough it out till I can get up to NJ at some point (hopefully before my warranty expires ).

Yeah, unfortunately. Considering this is such an expensive phone with "top-quality components", you'd have expected more..

Hi, I'm also having the squeaky vibration problem. My phone is about 6 months old and I've been having this noisy vibration squeak for at lease 6 weeks now. I'm running slimkit evo 8.1 on a unlocked bootloader. Before I try to get it fixed by Sony, do I need to reset back to stock and lock my bootloader?
Could anyone give me some pointer to what I could say to get the phone exchanged for a brand new one? I can't be without a phone for 2-3 weeks (estimated service time by resale store).
I have a 5 months old z1, and ive had this issue since the first month i bought it....i guess its a weak point, which is pity for a flag**** phone...

Hi macooz,
Sorry for the late reply. If you are sending it back to Sony, you should always revert back to Stock, as custom firmwares void your warranty.
You could simply tell them that your Vibration Motor is not functioning properly (giving off a squeaky noise instead of an actual vibration) and you would like for it to be either repaired / replaced or have your entire phone exchanged for a new one.

I agree with you. Issue is that because the phone is encased in gorilla glass, it makes it a bit difficult to change any parts on your own. Disassembly videos are available on YouTube, but who wants to take the risk of breaking their phone's casing and then have to replace additional parts?

OMG, I have the same problem. Are there is way besides bring it to sony. In my country Indonesian, Sony Center is so bad service, that will long mont for service :crying:

No work around , besides trying to do it yourself and losing your warranty.
Was without my phone for a month and a half. Eventually got it replaced.

Unfortunately, I agree with Soka on this one. I have had the replacement Vibrator for months now, but a little reluctant to open my device as it requires heating and having to purchase new adhesives and so on. I am getting those items in the very near future though, so I'm going to go ahead and do it!
My best piece of advice would be to purchase a replacement back (in case you crack / break your original one while removing it) and replacement adhesives before actually performing the DIY Fix.

Well, finally fixed my vibrator problem. I opened the back of my phone using a Hot Air Gun and pry tools, then replaced the vibrator module. Unfortunately, this seems to be the only valid solution.

Need Help, All sensors in my Z3+ Dual [E6533] are unresponsive.

I had a fatal problem recently, so I sent the phone for a repair and guess what they changed my motherboard and I got 2 new imei numbers, not the worst part. Well when it came back from service it had .253 firmware but I had no kernels at that time so I went back to .224 and was using it and didn't notice anything suspicious but then I flashed the .305 firmware and Zach's kernel playground and rooted it and installed xposed. I installed temple run 2 and again guess what? I couldn't collect coins ???? then I went to service menu, accelerometer and gyro tests were peculiar, at first it works then after 2 seconds it's stuck, WHAT.....? I just don't know what's wrong can you suggest anything??? Please???

kinda unrelated question but did you bought it from cellotronixx ?( searched his name here and your thread came up) how good/bad is his service ? i'm thinking of buying a nexus 5x from him. cuz unfortunately it's not available anywhere else unless i go for used one.

As long as you don't mess up your phone everything is fine. But if you wanna get it serviced or something, you will be disappointed.

Watch screen flickers

Hi,
the screen of my watch flickers since a soft-reset. Any ideas what's causing this? Warranty is over since ~4 months so i have to fix this on my own... Android version was 1.5, i updated to 2.0 but its still flickering. I also tried to reset it again - no effect..

I haven't found anything like this but maybe its a known issue and i just searched the wrong terms?

Not any help for you but mine started doing this as well & now it's pretty much dead
LG UK & the supplier have no interest at all (bought December 2014) so now I'm left with any expensive paperweight

Fortunately it was still in warranty.
They replaced the motherboard.

Broke my Xperia 1 ii Screen and Suggestions for Repair?

So I dropped my Xperia 1 ii yesterday at work and the screen cracked. Ironically my tempered glass I ordered came in today from Amazon. Is there anywhere I can go to repair my screen or buy a screen replacement?
Also has anyone else new their screen on their Xperia 1 ii? If so, where and how did you replace it? Does Sony repair these phones if I send it to them? Any idea on pricing etc? I really don't wanna have wasted $1,200. Someone please help me!

Hey sure thing! I actually contacted Sony repair center through their website and sent it in and got it fixed!

Did they charge you? Was it in US Sony center?
Yeah definitely in the US and they charged me $280 to fix it because I had no insurance on the phone.

I bought it from amazon and used it for a week and then I used another brand charger I had to charge it and it was fine until it ran out of charge and turned off now it's stuck on the sony logo screen when I try to turn it on. I tried the 812-920-4185 and it keeps going to voice mail so left a voice mail and emailed them too but I still haven't gotten a reply. the phone was used for only a week or two.

do you still have original charger ?
what happens when charge it while off
fully charge it and hold the power button and volume up (or down) same time then release when logo appears, it should open the recovery menu, clear cache x2 and reboot
if still not booting then connect to PC and do a reset repair using companion
using a 3rd party charger should make no difference unless it is faulty
if all else fails return it under warranty

k20 Pro black screen Problem

Hey, I got this black screen issue with my K20 pro. And clearly its not software issue.
I tried many things, Searched many sites.
All k20 pro user whether are on miui 10 or 11 or 12 experiencing this problem.
my worst luck is i m still under warrenty but i got a little crack on my phone within 10 days of purchase, it has been 10 month since than. my phone was working fine and suddenly i am experiencing this issue. my phone is completely blank now. Service center not taking it under warrenty since it broke.

Nothing worked for me , power button didn't respond and I took it to service center, surprisingly there it turned on without giving to them, Even though It's working fine now, I gave them to check for the black screen issue, and they replied they didn't find any log for that and even they answered the last used app on my device. From that I concluded it's a software issue.
Again till now, I didn't face that issue. If I'm wrong please correct me.

There might be many possibilities, but did they repaired it somehow, or just checked and gave back to you.
If it's given back to you without doing any repair of any kind. Please be very cautious, this devices will go black eventually. Please make a action as soon as possible before same happened again.
You can search and read other users review as well. This phone manufacturing must have a serious manufacturing defect that all users will experience some day

The returned me without repairing.
Even I was scared and later came to know that it was a software issue. I noticed black screen issue in July and till now I didn't faced that again.

That's great, Could you please let me know how that software issue got solved.
Currently my phone's screen is black. I can't use it.
I do know its working fine by the sound of charging plug in and out and calls coming.
I m frustrated and going for a IPS LCD display worth 3500 rs since amoled will cost around 9000
This is my last try to solve it if I can.
So please share your experience how it was solved

Frankly I did nothing.
It worked fine itself. I got scared to switch to custom roms coz I thought it as a hardware issue, later came to know as a software issue. I heard that some people had fod issues with miui 12 after screen replacement. I can't guide you in this case and please do proper research before spending money.

Ohh ok got it.
You are talking about fingerprint will not work on IPS LCD display, yes that I do know.
But what options do I have?
It's either 3500 with no fingerprint or 9000 with fingerprint.
I can use other ways to unlock so it's kind of fine with me
