[Q] System status: ¨custom¨ ,official change?? - Galaxy Camera Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, I have root on camera, with triangle away remove the counter to 0, but appears custom system status can be put and maintain official root?

Triangle Away will sort that out.

i537 and Triangleaway?

For whatever reason, when I was tweaking with safestrap and all the variants of software you can use upon rooting, my device decided to designate itself as a custom set device. Now, whenever I boot it up, it has the Samsung text, but it also has the custom logo with the padlock.
I've heard that triangleaway can solve this problem, but is it working smoothly with i537?
Yes it works. I tried myself and it worked perfectly exactly the same as with the regular GS4. Just keep in mind that you have to run the triangle away application from stock rom.

[Q] Device Status Custom HELP!

Recently wanted to update to kitkat after i rooted my phone and got frustated with it so I unrooted it and noticed the custom padlock logo was still on. after further review I see it was left with the device status set to custom as per normal when you root your phone. i did some digging and heard a lot of people stating some times if you used a 64 gig sd card it can trigger the custom status, well i use one and have since it was rooted and sadly enough after rooting and unrooting both with the sd card in and out it stays locked at the custom status. i really want to update the phone to kitkat from 4.3 because rooting really doesnt do it for me anymore. but i can not for the life of my figure out how to get it to switch back to official. i know if you used xposed module you can fake it to official. but when i upgrade to kitkat i will lose root permission and this is where my problems arise.
1. If i go ahead and update using xposed to fake my offical status will knox be triggered?
2. When i upgrade and lose root will the device automatically switch to back to official after upgrading or will i be stuck with the custom status and not be able to get anymore updates?
3. Is there any proven method to actually switch back to official permanately and not fake it like with xposed?

i had that problem i had to do a factory reset to get it to go away
I used Kingo to root. Decided to return to stock. After several manual reboots FINALLY removed "Custom" unlock and FINALLY RETURNED TO "Official".

Sadly I have many times and it still persist. This is exactly what has happened since I got my phone a few months back. Bought it from at&t > rooted it > uprooted it because j couldn't figure out safe strap or how to install toms > rerooted it and tried again > successfully that time > got bored and wanted return to stock and upgrade > custom status issue now
There isn't much else to explain. You install triangle away, open the app and click reset flash counter.

Oh wasn't sure if that was it or not my count is still set to 0 so I was thinking there was something else to it
Nope. It resets the flash counter and should reset the custom splash screen and custom status in settings.
I have never had issues with it.

Custom is gone away from the boot logo and in download it reads as official however under settings it still says custom. If I were to just go ahead with the update even though under settings it says custom would it fail and trip knox? Or would everything get reset to official stock?
It will not trip knox.
If you have never done the "revert to MJ5" thread it should be fine.

Did you delete system apps while you were rooted (maybe via TitaniumBackup)? I'm in the same boat: TriangleAway made the padlock go away but the "Custom" status is still in device settings. I think it's because the system partition is no longer stock because I deleted some AT&T bloat. I have NB4 and can't update to KitKat (probably because it detects this custom status) and I can't downgrade to MI9 because bootloaders for NB4 and MI9 are not compatible. Looks like I'm stuck until I can use Odin with official KitKat.

[Q] Stock Rom? Problems

I rooted my device approximately 30 days ago and received OTA updates (4.3). The updates then of course, ruined my root. I tried to fix the problem by rerooting but noticed I kept getting a error every method I tried "SW REV CHECK FAIL : [sbl1]Fused 2 > Binary 1". I also tried unrooting. I have tried every method I can find. I've even soft bricked my phone twice. I put the PIT file reccomended in the forums on my phone and now it is giving me a "direct pen input has crashed" every 5-10 seconds and freezing my phone.
What can I do?
Baseband: n900AUCUBNB4
Carrier: AT&T
Model: n900A
knox 0x0
To my knowledge nb4 could only be rooted with kingo root
You need now to follow the mj5 restore thread with root then enable survival mode in super user then update to nb4 or go to a best buy and ask them to re flash nb4

As far as I know, the "Fused" part has to do with the e-fuses that are in place within the phone. If you blow too many of them by doing things to your phone, and you try to flash a firmware that numbered lower than the current fuse count, it will fail.
I just took it to Samsung and said it was cause by the OTA update and they unbricked it for me... guess while under warranty as long as your Knox counter isn't tripped they will fix or replace your phone for free

[Q] Root At&t note 3 N900A 5.0 Lollipop

So basically i just bought a note 3 from someone and it came with 4.4.2. I was planning on rooting it but when i got up this morning i accidentally clicked continue on the new update (5.0 Lollipop). I was just going to ignore the update but it downloaded in my sleep last night and i accidentally clicked it this morning. It is an AT&T model, N900A. So my question is, is it possible to root 5.0 Lollipop right now? and could I downgrade to 4.4.2 then root? thanks

You have AT&T so the boot loader is locked, meaning you can only use Safestrap http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2572978 If you still got "System software not authorized by AT&T has been found on your phone. Please turn off your phone and go to the nearest AT&T store for help", you going to Odin the NC2 files http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=54803130&postcount=136 I would do all four (4) files.

When you say "do all four files" what does that mean? U upload all 4 files on Odin on the PA line and press start for each file? Or can you upload all 4 files at once and then press start in Odin?
N900a system software not authorized
I've rooted and flashed roms before but having slight issues this go around.
I installed twrp manager app and flashed the wrong recovery (accidentally).
No issue arose at that very moment. So I found the proper recovery and flashed.
A few minutes later when I attempted to enter recovery mode it gave me the "system software not authorized " error and will not let me e term recovery mode to flash new rom.
If I press volume down power and home then select cancel when it ask to enter download mode phone restart and give normal use.
Please help. I will greatly appreciate it.

Simple ROOT, no mod? SM-N900A
I am in same boat. Bought a reconditioned Note 3 and it updated to Lollipop. 5.0
I am not currently interested in any mods, I just want root with no OS change so I can uninstall useless bloat ware.
Use the phone with Consumer Cellular so all the AT&T specific apps are useless but clog the system. Also want to get rid of crap like Uber, Magazine and TouchWiz etc. They are a constant annoyance.
Any instruction to just a basic root with no mod to Kitkat?
SM-N900A ( AT&T )
Android 5.0 Lollipop
Build N0: LRX21V.N900AUCUE0C2
Kernel Version: 3.4.0-4335446

Want to root my phone and keep status as Officiel

Hi, I'm trying to root my phone and keep it's status Officiel.. is it possible ?
I would say no. Rooting definitely makes the phone unofficial and voids your warranty. However if you really want to root your phone I would suggest using custom made root files for you s3 mini such as from xda. Kingroot or similar apps are not recommended. They create bugs and you can't unroot your phone back. Custom files on the other hand provide an unroot file. Unrooting your phone back can give you your phone's officiality. If unrooting doesn't work, you can flash stock rom to get back to official version.

not really but you can force for it to think device system status official using Triangle Away app(for stock). Under Settings->About phone->Status
If you using chinese app for rooting first disable SysScope there is an app named SysScope.
Odin method(Download mode): using all non-samsung imgs are will triggering the counter and of course system status will be custom.
