Hi,
I have just received my Xperia T from Orange today. The problem I'm having is that the phone will reboot if previously it entered standby with wifi enabled.
I've tried enabling/disabling "Keep WiFi on during sleep" option. The result is the same.
It works fine with Orange data-traffic enabled.
My T is running on 4.0.4 with build 7.0.A.3.223 build number and I can't update automatically.
Im thinking of rooting and switching to custom ROM or manually flashing the official Sony JB - in either case i'm loosing my warranty.
I just want to know first if this is a known issue and it's fixable with a new ROM, and my device isn't broken.
Any help is really appreciated, as I'm so dissapointed by Sony only after 10 minutes of using the T.
Thanks.

No, that isn't a known issue, and it never happened to me when I had that version.
Try upgrading to the newest stock rom an if it keeps rebooting take it back to the shop because it is faulty. As Hackberrybold said, if you flash the original Sony rom, warranty is not voided.

At least the first thread was started by someone with an Orange Xperia too, like yourself; (the second one doesn't specify).
I wonder if this bug is caused by whatever customization Orange applies to its devices...
Weird T-Mobile didn't get 223 version, nothing past 195.
But doesn't have this issue, if you go for a replacement, see if ee will give you a T-Mobile allocated one...

Unfortunately there is no T-mobile in Romania.
In the meantime I'm taking the legit way, just installed Sony PCC and it seems it has a firmware update for me. I will try this and hopefully I'll be a happier T owner.
Things like this make me miss my former HTCs.
All's well that ends well, my T just runs 4.1.2 // 9.1.A.0.489 and it seems I'm able to exit standby normally with WiFi enabled.
Thank you guys for the prompt answers.
Sony newbie OUT.

Hello! It also happens to my Xperia T. I don't think is the Orange customization, because I have the original ROM from Telcel (Mexico), (7.0.A.1.303), but it only happens with one WiFi Network, the one from my school. In other WiFi's it has no problems at all... at least not yet. When connected to that specifically Wi Fi it reboots ONLY if I press the Standby/power button or goes to sleep by inactivity. I've used it for about 15 minutes (Web browsing, Whatsapp, downloading docs, etc.) without pressing the standby button and it doesn't reboot at all until I press that button, or goes to standby after no use (Mine is set up to 1 minute).
I've tried turning on/off de Mobile Data, and it doesn't affect it. I'm actually going to flash JB today, so next monday I'll try again that conflictive WiFi on JB (Stock official ROM).
If anyone can tell me how to get more info on that WiFi (To see if it has something that can trigger the bug, or anything in common with another conflictive WiFi's) I'll do that on monday.
Tnx
My Xperia T disconnects from Wi-fi automatically. One minute it is connected and running fine but suddenly it disconnects and shows out of range. Strangely this happens only on stock or stock based rom. Wi-Fi runs fine when running CM10.1. So i guess its not hardware issue. I would use CM10.1 but its so unreliable. I missed several important calls due to sudden reboot in CM10.1 and in stock I cant use my Wi-Fi properly. It disconnects automatically. I have tried every wifi setting combination but none of them work. I am frustrated because of this. I have treid every firmware from from ICS to latest .145. But nothing is helping. Is there some kind of wifi power saver that i can disable or maybe i can update wifi driver in my xperia T. I am in desperate need of solution. Please help me. :crying:
Tough one... have you gone into Settings, then Power Management? There is "extended standby mode" option on my phone that seems like it would turn the wifi off while the phone is idling.
Also, is this on any wifi connection? Or mainly your home wifi? It would be worth having a look at the website of your router's manufacturer to see if there is a new firmware available for your wireless router.
I would like to suggest trying stock firmwares from other regions but I don't know how safe that is. Is your phone an LT30a? LT30p?
Right now I'm using LT30p_9.1_A.1.141_PL on my LT30a (Bell) and wifi is quite solid.

nope nothing works and i dont have access to any official sony center customer support in my country so this phone is kinda dead, NFS bluetooth wifi they dont work, they might work once in a day but not more than a few seconds, also i just found out that sony didnt come clean about unlocking my bootloader because when you are going to unlock it they say you will remove your warranty they dont say anything about hey we're going to screw a few things in your phone like your TA and it will cause your phone to lose some of its functions like bravia engine which is nothing serious dear customer!!!!! except all that is left for my phone to brag about as a sony smartphone is IP58 nothing more!
and i think this was the last time i went for sony phones this phone is a huge disappointment with all of its problems
and please people who encountered wifi bluetooth or nfc problem report in this topic put some logcats if possible and explain how it happened and how its happening please maybe this could be some use to someone or at least make some people aware of what they might get into

what ftf region are you using guys?branded or unbranded? i dont have issues like yours..
unbranded
unbranded MEA
i had the same problem with sony xperia zr, and some other guys had it too, there is something seriously messed up with sony wifi drivers...
good part is it apears to be a software issue and can be fixed if sony whould give a damn...
http://android.kul.is/2013/09/sony-xperia-zr-wifi-problem.html
here is a detailed post about it, although sony told this guy eventually it was a hardware problem i'm pretty sure it's not, had the same issue on my zr, flashing a new firmware usually fixed it for 3-4 days untill it began again.
i suspected it was some app that i installed that messed up the wifi, anyway i got a new xperia z1 and my zr went to my sister, after a factory reset wifi works fine for her now...... so no idea actually...

My problem was most likely HW, because flashing new firmware including the one in the service centre did not work. But it looks like Sony has a lot of problems with the Wi-Fi chips in general - so the range of possible errors is quite broad. If it was a software problem, hopefully new update fixes it.
EDIT: The Xperia article is the most popular article by far on my website - which is sad.

Hi all just wanna share with you all to all the Xperia ZR users who are facing problem to connect to any 2.4GHz networks. This is an official solution I found after weeks of testing and research. In the end, the driver is not loaded properly or by default, custom ROM created the havoc. So this is a solution finally will end all the Xperia ZR owners WiFi woes:
I noticed that when running ADB GUI, there is this file missing from /System/Data/Misc/WiFi called "WCNSS_qcom_cfg.ini" .
I'm using ADB Helper Version 4.2.0.0, under BUILD.Prop Viewer tab, choose wlan.driver.config it points to that location. I downloaded somewhere from Xperia developer forum website. Then i modified and modified until i found the solution.
in this file modified the line gDotMode=3 (which is running in N mode only) to either 1 or 2 which s "a" or "b" mode.
I reboted the device and the wifi works and N mode is disabled meaning you wont be able to connect in 5GHz mode anymore. But you will be able to connect to all the CURRENT 2.4GHz AP ...yayyy!!! I read somewhere where ICS android allows you to Enable or Disable 5GHz scanning of AP. But later were removed. 4.3 updates sometimes also i found out will WIP this configuration or maybe Developer forgotten to include this as well. I hope Sony Xperia developers will look into this.
Now, my phone can connect to any 2.4GHz WiFi.. I would be willing to help just drop me an email at [email protected].

I faced the same Bluetooth & Wi-Fi problem...
For Bluetooth I have got the replacement..
For wi-fi.. I did the tethering..
I created the Hot Spot in another phone and then access that hot-spot from my Xperia ZR..
Luckily it obtained the IP address of Hot-spot and started working
Then without switching off the wi-fi of my phone, I deleted the Hot-Spot connection and tried to access my already created wi-fi router setup fom ZR...
It clicked and started obtaining the IP address of my router..and its working fine from that day...

Hello,
I would like to use my SWR10 on my Xperia SP but it's not possible with the stock 4.3 ROM (4.4 required).
So I have instaled the CM11 and now I can connect the SWR10 on my xperia SP.
However, le app Lifelog doesn't detect that my phone is an XPeria so I don't have the activity tracking.
How can I say to Loglife that my phone is an Xperia ?
(I got the same probleme for google+ photo auto awesome movie and I resolved it by modifying ro.product.device="C6833" to fake a Z2)
For Sony Xperia handsets, it is mandatory to log-in via a Sony Entertainment Network account and there's no way around it, meaning...
your phone requires a 4.4 Sony framework in order for your Smartband to work, which means it won't work with an Xperia SP because 4.3 was the latest OS version.
Only a Sony phone with an official KK firmware will work correctly. You will need to buy a new phone should you want it to work. An Xperia phone which supports 4.4 or any other branded phone with 4.4. On other brands there's a possibility to use your Google account to log in to Lifelog.
Bummer!

Thanks for your response but,
I think it's wrong because the smartband is working on CM11 as I said. But it works like an other brand than Sony.
Only xperia functions like transport, swimming tracking aren't present because the cynogen isn't detected as a xperia firmware.
My question is : how to get the transport recognition (exclusivity for Xpeeria) on CM11 or an other branded smartphone?
