Hi
Does anybody know if LG has released the official ICS for the Carphone Warehouse version of the O2X yet?
I'm running CM 7.2 and would have to go back to stock for the mobile support tool to work so I'd rather know before doing that.
Cheers

No, they haven't. ICS has been out for months now, but they only just pushed out an update to v20L, which is still Android 2.3.4, the other day. LG UK/CPW are so far behind it's laughable.
I know this because my wife's phone is still on stock and she got an OTA update notification 2 days ago and received the update to 20L.

Thanks. That saved me a lot of time rolling back to stock just to find out it isn't out yet. I guess I'm still waiting for a stable CM 10.

You're welcome.
I can highly recommend tonyp's Paranoid Android 2.6 as extremely stable for day to day use. It's based on CM10, but has many many bug fixes, more useful features and uses an excellent custom kernel from pengus77.
Grab it from the development section (make sure to get the old bootloader version if you do)

I did consider something else but I wanted to try the stock ICS first. I sent a support request to LG last night and got a reply telling me that ICS is now out for the CPW P990 and I confirmed this with the mobile support tool so today I will convert my partition back to ext3 and try the update
cheers

CM10 is officially launched, see Google+ CM circle.
Great News. A few doubts though
Lets consider LG releases the ICS update..
I noticed that google released new binary hardware drivers for galaxy nexus and nexus 7.
Does that mean the ICS drivers are not sufficient to run JellyBean???????
We will see...

I prefer the excellent custom roms here - so who needs LG (except their needed drivers).
Let's see, who's the first JB-Dev here... :laugh::laugh::laugh:
a big thanks to everyone already who is going to work on custom roms for our beloved device!

We're something in between.
Other devices who are not officially supported need to port CM on their ROMs - we don't because RC from the CM-Team did that for us - and submits fixes for our device as well.
The reason we don't have nightlies is that CM doesn't add devices which aren't fully running ICS - which we don't.
but he only submits fixes for CM7 doesn't he?
Without the drivers we need a cyanogen release is just pointless we are stuck with gingerbread till lg release the official ics and maybe with an official ics rom a cyanogen jb rom can come from that.
I would be interesting to see if the Hardware Acceleration works with Jelly Bean if we have the official LG ICS Sources... Hope it works. ;-)

This is not accurate.. I have a gtab 10.1 running Cm9 nightlies and the tab does not have offial ics yet, same situation... But our dev/maintainer there is pershoot and he care about us... And release nightlies pretty often... Guess RC its just not interested in this phone anymore

that's not right since the Honeycomb drivers were ported and already there, in our situation we only have drivers from Froyo poorly ported by LG to Gingerbread. The leap between GB and ICS is way bigger that HC and ICS. Remember that without his work our phone would be not as good as it is with CM9. Also he still has a private life and if he takes a break , fine so be it. He doesn't owe anyone of us anything.
I'm sorry but I just couldn't let it be
Hi all,
First time posting in the IncS section. I bought an IncS a few days ago and I'm pretty happy with it. My previous phone was an Optimus One (P500) which was running a modded version of CM7. This is my first HTC phone so I hadn't used Sense prior to this one. After spending some time on ARHD, I've decided that I'm not a big fan of Sense.
I'm planning on flashing CM7, but I was wondering if those of you that are using CM7 (or have used it in the past) have used a custom kernel with it or is the stock CM7 kernel the best option? Am I right in assuming that Redux and XS kernels shouldn't be used with CM7 since it's a gingerbread based ROM?
Tiamat don't even think just Tiamat.

Thanks : ) I found Tiamat's kernel page and noticed the latest is 1.1.5. I'll give that one a go.
Couple of questions since I see you're using Cm7.. From checking XDA and a couple of other forums I've read there's an issue with the backlighting on the buttons not working, but I'm unclear as to whether this is still a problem since these seemed to reference older builds of Cm7 from a few months back. I noticed the newest nightly was 20121111. Would you happen to know if the backlighting problem is still there? Also, I noticed there was a fix for camera freeze that was incorporated in the stock Cm7 kernel in the last couple of months. I'm assuming this isn't in Tiamat's kernel? Looks as though his latest kernel was released last year.

IMO stock kernel is better choice.
Yes it's already includes camera freeze fix, so there's no need in flashing it manually. But anyway you can try tiamat+fix
I can't say anything about backlights bug, coz it was long time ago I used cm

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I tried out CM7, both with stock kernel and the tiamat kernel. All went well initially. I couldn't believe how much more RAM I had available vs the Sense roms. After using it for a few hours the phone would freeze up at random times, and it would freeze up when I'd try to use the dialer. I ended up having to ditch CM7 and go back to a Sense ICS rom unfortunately. CM doesn't seem to have the level of development and testing on the IncS as it does on the Optimus One. With any luck there will be a stable CM10 available at some point.
HI guys i just got my nexus and i downloaded the toolkit.
I want to know what is the best rom to flash and a link to how would be appreciated?
I would like one that dosen't interfere with OTA updates as well
Thank you all very much
I would recommend Paranoid Android 3+. Link is in my signature. Even if you dont update it a lot, every build is very stable. Battery life is really good. It uses stock kernel with no overclocking or under clocking. Lots of customization. Check out the video in the official thread.
If you are running 4.2.1, make sure to update your baseband and boot loader when upgrading to 4.2.2.

That's not an official MIUI ROM. Its based on CM with MIUI look. MIUI ROMs aren't available for N4 yet because its running 4.2.1 or 4.2.2. You have to wait until MIUI catches up with N4 firmware. Feel free to install it.
Edit: updated

Where o when to get the official jelly bean, not a beta or alpha?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
There won't be any official release for our device. Samsung stopped supporting our device long time ago.. Actually we don't need anyone when we have numerous choices of wonderful custom ROMs available for us which is far better than any official release..

There is no official jellybean for S plus from samsung. If you want the best jb experience you can use cm10 or cm10.1 You can find in development thread.
NEVER.. but as you can see we already have wonderful roms
That's what i mean, official i mean with play store, stable and fast, and off course cooked. I only find alpha roms and unstable. Please help, thanks

All the 4.2.2 ROMs Are almost stable. Especially the cm10.1. Its on RC5 now. So how could you say its in alpha..??
Hey, if there would be any custom ROM wich is in alpha status, it would be much better than any official Samsung stockrom. In our devsection we have the best devs you could ever have. From Samsung you would have one official Jelly Bean ROM. From our devs you can have more then 15 stable JB-ROMs. Just try some and enjoy.

I know, thats why i only use our great customroms. It's better to have a full stable custom JB, than a slow buggy stock GB full of bloatware. Fact is, Samsung will never ever release an official JB for our phone.
I have tried TigerROM, Ehndroix III and Cyanogenmod 10.1 and all went PERFECT

I haven't got my N5 yet, but when I do and CyanogenMod is compatible with it, I will run that. I feel like CM is the most reliable ROM. It's probably just cause its the first ROM I discovered.

Stock + Root
probably until PA comes out
Once ROMS start rolling out, probably CM or OmmiROM. Really missing the extras that CM has.
Need some aokp lovin, until then just rooted.
Stock plus root, here. I just can't stand ads, so I installed an ad-blocking hosts file.
I also uninstalled a bunch of system apps I don't need using TB.

There is no AOKP ROM right now right?
I'm missing it so damn hard. I even thought about switching back to my n4 until it's out here
Stock ROM is so bad >.<
im running stock+ root+ custom kernel... i will deff be flashing a custon rom soon once they get some thing ironed out..
Definitely stock rooted for a bit. I'd rather wait until development is stable.

Same here. Am missing some CM features quite a bit though.
(And I love your avatar!!!!!!)
Stock + Root out of the box.
I'm missing the customization from custom ROMs. I keep doing things like ribbon swiping the notification shade to get to the quick toggles out of habit. I'm going to wait until the development stabilizes before flashing one.
Stock rooted. But stock is so smooth. Rooting for Navbar and Toggles I actually want. So AOKP or Carbon whenever they come out.

Paranoid Android or Purity or PSX in the future with Franco Kernel.
Yay for our cool devs
Stock until I get bored of it. Then back to CM
