hi there, i am using cwmr touch 6.0.1.4-Philz on my galaxy note. every time i try to install a zip file, i don't get an error. it says install from sd card complete. but when i reboot my device, there are no changes. i tried different zip files, and not one did anything.
Has anyone had this problem before? I have official 4.1.1 on speedmod kernel. Thanks in advance!
Just a suggestion before installing any zip manually mount the system
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
excuse me for my noob question, but what does "mount the system" mean?
thanks for your reply!
When you are in cwm recovery there is a option named mount & storage. Inside it there is a option to mount the system select it and then try installing any zip

Latest version is 4.63. You can check your version by booting into recovery and philz settings, about.
Launcher? After installing the launcher, when you press the home key, does it not give option to choose launcher?
I have 6.0.1.4 cwmr philz touch. And normally it should pop up xperia home, but i only get my touchwiz launcher and the apex launcher. I also tried to install an other zip file, something that would change my statusbar, and it didn't..
Latest us 6.0.2.8.. Try to change kernel. Also try fix permission in recovery.

I guess the xperia z launcher zip is broken. Maunally paste the app into system/app or maybe you don't have enough space left on the system that's why your zips are not installing. Delete some samsung bloatware apps using tb

Then i tried trough es file explorer to install the apk in the system folder, and it didn't let me.

for simple solution go to recovery and clear cache and delvik-cache and install same nightly or any other rom which you are using . Thats it.
And Make Sure next time you dont ask such noob question in Development thread go to Q/A thread and post there this kinda silly stuff.

Maybe try SuperSU. Its a different SU app.
Have you checked the options in Superuser? If you swipe over to the left there is an info tab with "temp u root". You should check that out...

Very simple solution boot into recovery and format the system partition only and reflash the rom and gapps then wipe dalvik & cache partitions, fix permissions and reboot

I downloaded the file, but even on my windows desktop, he told me that the file is corrupted
Same thing on the tablet, bad file, can't open.
Please, could you re upload ?
I found on google, I installed but doesn't works
I'd take a full nandroid backup, then reinstall CM9 completely and see if that fixes your issue. If it doesn't, you'll have the backup to restore to.

You can't uninstall it. It's not even installed in the first place it's copied over your system folder.
You can however remove them from your device using a root explorer like ES File Explorer. Be carefull if you remove something like the Launcher then you'll have to do recovery using CWM.

You can flash the rom again using PC odin.
Or
Download any rom based on LSZ and extract the popular browser apk from there and push it to the phone.
# but first you need to check of there is pop up browser apk in the phone using TB

Got root but I forgot to write down the original CSC could anyone find it ? - I remember PHNAL being in it...
I just installed Rom Manager as well but it's located on my phone memory, is that correct or do I have an option to install/place it on my sd card ?
Or better yet how could I install apps on my sd card, or do I need CWM installed first ?
Also: SuperSu doesn't ask for permissions, should I switch to SuperUser

Dont know about CSC, but maybe someone else..
No worries with Rom manager being installed in phone. If you change rom just reinstall Titanium backup and you can restore all your apps from your backups.
Check the settings in SuperSu. There's options for default actions.

I got it on prompt, should I set it on block instead? - I still didn't get asked where I wanted to auto. install my apps to though, link2SD the only option, any recommendations ?
If anything, should I get recovery file from CWM official site and put it on my sd card or just install through CWM on my phone ?

You won't get prompt when an app is installed, but when that app needs su for a command to execute.
You can install cwm through rom manager on phone.

Open that ZIP, see what is there and where it is pushed. Open some root explorer on phone and remove its files... If those files did not overwrite some older files that was already in phone. You can't remove it from application manager because those are probably in system/app.
