Help with compiling CM10.1 and Onskreen Cornerstone
I'm interested in using cornerstone with my nook hd + as well as nook hd. (if possible I'd prefer to build in windows, but I don't have to)
I found this guide
http://www.kernel-xp.net/index.php/en/guide/25-android/32-build-cm10
actually, maybe I'll use this guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=36416819#post36416819
which I guess doesn't show me how to use 10.1, but I can start with 10.
but the real question remains (and maybe I'll need to reach out to those that have done it already). Is how do I implement cornerstone into the mix?
Well. For starters, where would I find the drivers for the nook hd+.
I think I found a website for it,
https://nookdeveloper.zendesk.com/entries/21943338-nook-developer-sta
but I'm not sure exactly which one I'm supposed to plug into the tutorial guide.
Then after that I think I can figure out the rest until I need some instructions on how to implement the Cornerstone
Verygreen has a CM10 git repository all set up for the HD+. And he has build instructions for Linux. Look here:

is there a link for 10.1 build instructions? Although I guess I said that wasn't so important...
so there we have it, I have a set of instructions for installing cm10 with correct drivers (possibly...), but how about implementing cornerstone... I know such person probably doesn't have experience with it, but I'm certainly going to get stuck on that part. I wrote a rom writer who wrote a rom with it included, but no word as of yet.

No. You can download the git by using the - CM10.1 line instead of - jellybean. That will get you the upstream repository, but verygreen has not yet published his local manifest. For overall info on building, go to the cyanogenmod site and search their wiki for building. They at least have a guide for the Nook Color and the Nexus 7. They may have more.

Hello:
I was thinking about buying a Nook HD+ for my wife. The price is right and it has microSD expansion. But I don't want to use the Nook UI and want to install CM10 instead.
Is this possible with Nook HD+?
Thanks.

Thanks leapinlar. I'll look at his thread. What are your general thoughts are of Nook HD+ with CM10? Do you have any cautions about the post-install experience?
Cheers.

I use it as my daily driver. It still has a few minor bugs. I use the 1-08-13 version and it is very stable. Look at his 1-7-13 post to get it.

I use for daily CM10.1 on SD. I cant say nothing bad. All things what i had have described on CM10.1 thread too. All apps which one i tested dont had any glitches (believe me, i tested big amount different apps). Only thing is that i dont use bluetooth because i dont have needless. Also wifi have some connection lose problems if wifi ssid is hidden. But this is random.
I'm on CM10.1 because i need different user accounts on one devise.
I'm running Verygreen's 2/12 update and have no trouble or complaints at all. Daily driver all the way. Don't use BT, so I don't know about that. I haven't had reboot problems or anything.

so i have a HD+ (don't think this matters) running hybrid, 4/22 10.1 build. there have been some updates to the 10.1 recently, my question is do i need to do anything to back up my current apps/settings before upgrading? will my things still be there after i update?
doesn't seem like it would be, but who knows. thanks

Just flash the new CM zip over the top of the old, all apps will remain.

Do the latest cm10.1 roms i.e 11/5 and 12/5 work with your Hybrid method? Because I thought I read somewhere in your hybrid thread that they wouldn't work

They do not. He used a different ramdisk on those and my ramdisk crashes. I am working on it, but may take a little while.

update for anyone reading this, leapinlar released the hybrid fix for the newer roms. will give it a try after i clarify how to get a rom with tablet mode enabled.
I did the SD card version of cm10 a few months ago but battery life seems to be awful so was looking at upgrading it to cm10.1.
Have had a good look through the development forum but there isnt much info on actually going from 10 to 10.1, they all seem to be based on starting from scratch.
Wondered if anyone could let me know what files and instructions i need to go from cm10 to cm10.1?
Many thanks

You don't say which device you are using, HD or HD+. If you are running verygreen's old legacy HD+ SD setup, you need to update to his new SD setup. He uses a different SD scheme now that operates much better. So that means you need to start over with the SD. Format it with SDFormatter and then burn his early7.1 image to the SD and follow the rest of his instructions in the thread, including flashing the newer version of gapps. Battery life is much improved.

Many thanks for the helpful posts. All now fully installed and working.
ok guys I'm sort of a newbie to this stuff so i would really love it if you guys could help me out! I'm trying to update my CM 10.1 to CM 10.2 so that i can get 4.3 and i found a post about it being possible to do it on a nook, so i downloaded all the stuff i needed just like when i put 10.1 on it and everything seemed to go fine when i was downloading it but when i booted it up none of my gapps are working (and i got the 4.3 apps that i was supposed to get) and it still says that i am running on 4.2.2....
now I'm sure i have done something wrong and it's probably the easiest fix in the world but if there is anyone out there who can tell me how i need to go about doing this update i would be very appreciative thank you very much and i hope you all have a great day!

Are you trying to update CM10.1 that you installed on emmc? If so, you can't. The version of CM10.2 that is available is for SD installs, not emmc. Flashing it to emmc will not work.

CM10.1 to 10.2 upgrade for sdcard builds
After several tries that resulted in one issue or another, I successfully updated my sdcard install from CM10.1 to CM10.2. I think my unsuccessfuly attempts failed because of gapps. One of the links in th CM10.2 thread pointed to a GAPPS 4.3 "Core" zip file that ultimately worked for me. The other gapps 4.3 files usually resulted in the "two cLock app" error and I could never connect to Google service (Play Store and GMail, in particular). My wi-fi indicator on the status bar remained grey, never turning blue. All of my network-dependent apps worked (CNN, XDA, etc.) except for those that depend on Google.
Other issues that seem consistent:
1. Can't see internal storage (emmc); I can't find it anywhere (usual contents of /storage have been apparently moved anyway)
2. Weather Channel app had to be set up from scratch
3. News & Weather app/widget is gone
4. Background image seems to get reset occasionally (from a live wallpaper that I selected); not necessarily limited to CM10.2, but seems to be more prevalent now than with CM10.1
...
999. I'mnot certain if it is related to CM10.2, but the Engadget app has been pretty unstable since the upgrade.
-SUO, now only wants Halo and TabletUI
I have been running 10.2.1 on a used Nook HD+ for the past couple of years and it really runs well in general although I am having problems looking at Vine videos sometimes. I see a post on upgrading from CM10 to CM11 without burning another SD from scratch at
ttp://forum.xda-developers.com/nook-hd/general/how-to-updating-hd-hd-internal-emmc-to-t2863171
and my question is, have other people been able to do this successfully and is the upgrade to CM11 worth it? Is this the last CM release supported on the Nook HD+ (which as we know is no longer being manufactured)?

CM11 is well worth the upgrade from CM10.x.
FWIW I am been running CM11 nightly build 11/22/15 since it first came out and am very happy with it.

No -- you can find pointers to CM12.1 and CM13 on these XDA HD/HD+ forums.
