I know I saw this somewhere before but can't seem to find it again.
Currently running RootBox JB 4.1.2 build 2 on my Galaxy Exhibit, with the ParanoidSettings.apk loadad. Unfortunately, seems I can't set it up to do anything but pure stock UI settings (no Hybrid at all) and keep the DPI set to 240. Anything else and some of the apps I ahve installed are not listed as compatible in the play store (examples are Bitcare and BitcoinSpinner).
Is there a multi-DPI GAPPS available somewhere I can load instead of the one I have? Would much rather run my UI at about 220 DPI as I like that layout better.
Finally remembered where I saw something about this, from the updater in Slimbean when I had it loaded. I downloaded the multi-DPI Play zip from the Slimbean.net site and extracted the two APK files from it. Anyone know if they will work with RootBox, or are they special Slimbean-only files?

Yeah, been thinking about doing that. Keep seeing issues with RootBox on my phone and having to fix things. Seems to stay stable so long as I'm not fiddling with it.
Well, that didn't work.
But, I did get it to work. I quit trying to use the Paranoid settings app and went back through resetting the device dpi to defaults under ROM Control. After that I changed dpi to 220 on the last option in there and I can still see all my apps.

Spoke too soon. Even that didn't work.
So, anyone have an idea how to fix the Play Store dpi issue on the RootBox ROM?
Sent from my SGH-T679 using xda app-developers app
Change DPI to 240 or Google multi-dpi playstore

Well, I did Google it. Asked in here because I couldn't find anything specific to RootBox. Also lack the tools to "roll my own" apk files for this. I was hoping someone would know of a specific download I could get that would work on RootBox.
I think part of the problem is the files on RootBox. When I put the modified apks in from the one for Slimbean, I noticed vending.apk was not in /system/apps. There is an apk in /data/apps that is named similarly. Could that be why it doesn't work?
Sent from my SGH-T679 using xda app-developers app
Well, I went back to Slimbean anyway. The multi dpi play store works fine with it.

Hello fellow xda members. I had a problem the other day. I installed sgs tools and tried downloading a different launcher. It loaded the launcher fine but I wasn't satisfied. I tried restoring it but it gives the error "folder not found." I was wondering if anybody knows how to reinstall the built in default tw launcher and if I can possibly restore the layout.

I'm sure you could find the apk with a search.
Are you running a custom rom?
No, I'm runnin default android 2.2 froyo. Rooted, but nand backup doesn't work either. A few months ago, I tried backing up with rom manager, but after rebooting, their still wasn't any backups availible to restore. When I boot into system recovery, it doesn't even open cyogenmod reovery.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
CM revovery? Stock 2.2? I'm confused.
I tried. Google doesn't show any, only custom launchers and I don't want that.

Bump...
Did you manually check the sgs tools folder for the backup of your stock launcher?
I've been using the gingerbread launcher from the market and I really like it. Just putting it out there to think about it.
Sorry I meant clockwork recovery mod. THAT didn't work or I wouldn't be asking for a way to reinstall default tw launcher. Thanks for all the current ideas

If you still need it, I attached it for you. Just drop it in the system/app folder. Good luck.
Never mind.someone else got it.

The one from the market is super easy. And if you accidentally delete it, it's there to reinstall
This is the one from my phone. Dont know if it is what you are looking for as i am currently running Continuum, but good luck.
I think you might need the .odex file as well since I recall seeing that you are running stock 2.2. Did you delete that file?
I'm not sure. How do I check?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
You can use Root explorer or a similar app and navigate to system/app. See if there are .odex files for the corresponding apk's. If the one for the launcher is missing than that would cause the issue. What happens when you try to run the launcher? does it just force close?
edit: I was able to find the apk and .odex file from a stock 2.2 build. Just drop it in hopefully this works. Just unzip and extract the files manually.
I can't find it. All there is is the .odex for the tw launcher wallpaper

^ I was editing my post while you posted, in case you missed it, I added the files you need.
So I wanted to get some updates for my apps so I went back to 213 and I still don't see drop box etc and when I search for apps I have installed currently of says they aren't compatible. What do I need to modify to fix?

Try clearing your play store data.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda premium
No dice
Sent from my Nexus 7 using XDA Premium HD app
I was able to get compatibility back after clearing market data and re flashing gapps. I also found out anything but 160 causes that same problem, but 160 works fine.
Try a reboot? Wipe cache, force close the app, and delete app data for the play store. It's really fickle truthfully. I ended up having to flash mine back to stock and use titanium backup to fix everything. If you have a nandroid backup pre-DPI change that should work as well.
Edit: nevermind! Glad you figured it out!

I just had this problem, but I figured out how to fix it...
1. Go to Settings>Apps>Google Play Store and "uninstall updates" and it will say something about installing the original system app...
2. Open the original play store and accept the terms and conditions. (Apps still not working at this point)
3. Download the latest update from somewhere.
4. Install and done...
Your play store should work properly now...
I am sure this will be something easy I just can't figure it out. I am looking for the Samsung default keyboard and I am trying to install the Aurora live wallpaper but a) can't find the keyboard and b) can't get the wallpaper to install.
Tried to install wallpaper as an apk and it won't install. Then tried putting it in system/app and setting permissions. It will then show in selectable wallpapers but force closes. Can't figure out why.
Thanks in advance.

This is due to the fact that Samsung keyboard needs Touchwiz to work so it can't be installed on AOSP or AOKP ROMs
As for aurora livewallpaper, I haven't tried that but have u tried restoring it from Titanium, if it still force closes, then it won't work on non-touchwiz ROMs
Best of luck.
To be honest I tried to install Aurora by ripping the apk from the LSA rom not from Titanium.
The keyboard you might be right with but so far I have been unable to actually find it. I have looked through LSA ROM and can't figure out where the keyboard is.

I have used a samsung keyboard on TW-ICS ROMs, But I haven't found any on non-TW jellybean ROMs
Doing some research, Samsung keyboard needs lib files as well, which also needs TW framework to work
Have you tried to restore Aurora from Titanium? Let me know if it works
Didn't try to restore from Titanium as I didn't make a back up before installing CM10.
Keyboard def doesnt work but I am getting used to the CM10/AOKP/JB one that comes installed.

Try AI keyboard, it is very customizable and it has the upper row of numbers you miss most in Samsung keyboard
you'll find a free version on play store, the only difference from the paid one is that it supports autocorrection for 7 days only.. (I don't use autocorrection myself)
Hi Folks,
I have flashed kallt_kaffe's rom located here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28871951&postcount=1
Everything worked except these:
I can't see my galaxy tab anymore on 'my computer' when I connect it via usb. Also Kies can't recognize the tablet.
I have flashed gapps however not everything installed along with it. Google Maps is missing for example and when I try to do a voice call through Gtalk, it shuts down immediately.
What would you suggest?
Just found the solution to the first issue: Enabled MTP device via storage settings.
However looks like Gapps does not install properly; Google Maps is missing and voice/video calls in Gtalk won't work
Re-download gapps and re-flash it. It may be a bad download.

I did it like 5 times and still won't work.
Also checked the files if they are in place through ES file explorer and they indeed were.
Tried to install some of them and got 'install failed' error...

Uninstall gtalk and then reinstall. Get maps and gtalk from the store. That'll probably solve your problem.

More importantly, I wouldn't commit to that particular ROM, as the developer abandoned it without warning almost two months ago.
I did it uninstall and then reinstall and it still did not work, so frustrating.
Very strangely, when I accessed the Maps through the store app, it told me that it was not available in my country??
and later I was able to install it through the browser.
Plus when I chose 'all the apps from Google', I could see only the one third of all their apps.
I can't figure this out... only for this I could go back to stock ICS.

Try android 4.2.1, it's a dream on this tab...
Thanks for the suggestion. I found the solution to the Gapps issue, just replaced the Gtalk from an old Gapps package and it worked like a charm.
Anyway is that ROM stable yet?

I'm using C-o-M's unofficial CM 10.1 and it's simply amazing. It's breathed new life into my tablet and I no longer feel the urge to run out and get a Nexus 10 just to have the latest version of Android.
Is there a way to install the Touchwiz launcher on Peach Sunrise or other roms? I tried pulling the file from /system/app out of the stock zip but when I flash it to /system/app on Peach nothing happens. It just shows up as uninstalled in Titanium. Any suggestions? I wanted to play around with it for fun.

I think it requires some framework also, not positive about that though
Edit: Maybe try installing as a normal app
Maybe also try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1767559 if you want tw4

Its possible, BUT it is trial and error. There are several touchwiz launcher apk's floating around, and I don't use gingerbread now that jelly bean is fully working. So just keep trying the apk's you find. Please keep in mind it MUST be installed as a system app with proper permissions or the launcher wont even be recognized as there.
