Longest Android Phone Standby Time Ever? - Off-topic

I decided to see how long my Samsung Galaxy Exhibit 4G would last on standby with an extended battery two and a half months back, and this is what happened.

My Nokia 1330 was last charge in 1834 and it's still on 70%.
Nevertheless this was mine -

Meh, 14 hours. Biggest achievement for this crap phone.

Quite possibly....
Pirates (be they somali or software) are scum and have no place in OT.
So Max, take off that eyepatch right now and you in the back there.... leave that parrot alone or I'll report you to animal welfare....

Happens to me too. Sometimes a battery pull brings it back up. Sometimes it doesn't so I'm not too sure why it happens.
There is another forum on here about doing a battery recalibration. In there I suggest there is a miscommunication between the battery data and the display. But it looks to be more than that. Your battery shouldn't be the problem. It will display that you have 20% but in reality you have something like 30%. I have had the same issue, but it still takes forever for the battery to fully die.
Mine does the same thing but then it'll slowly go from like 20 to 50% in a couple hours without charging or even plugging it into anything so I never really worried about it...

[Q] Facebook battery hog?

I've been wondering how people get such good battery life so I just checked what was eating mine and I saw that Facebook is absolutely destroying my battery. Is there a way to make the app more energy-efficient, and does this happen to anyone else?

What about under the Facebook Settings u could change the time under "Refresh interval" to a longer time period or even to Never.
Then on ur phone go to Manage applications/ Facebook then Force stop. Then check the usage several hrs later or the next day...

I did that a few hours ago and it seems to be a bit better. I'll check at the end of the day tomorrow and then see how much battery it uses.

The simplest answer is just to uninstall Facebook. Besides running yet another unneeded service on your phone, the app phones home to Facebook on you.
You gain battery life, and more privacy. Win win in my book.

I'm curious if anyone knows what the icon in the notification bar is that is directly to the left of the Wi-Fi icon. Thanks in advance. I have the T-Mobile variant.

Ninjas.
Thanks. Does leaving it enabled really drain the battery?

Hardly. The biggest downside is that it sits in your notification bar. A other than that it doesn't use much power overall (unless you're constantly using it, then it'll draw more power)

That's not normal at all, my Macbook charger gets pretty hot but that's got a large transformer inside, I think you should replace your charger Don't want to risk your new phones irreplaceable battery !
Cool cheers

Mine is getting hot also... Had the UK charger. I think it's normal. The charger is small the transformer inside it would easily heat up and with the lack of space it would emit heat. And yeah it's unbearable most of the time.
The transformer inside should look like this.
