Hello
im planing to buy Incredible S that is currently broken.
The guy said to me that after ICS update he scan for available networks, and phone sees networks but phone don't wont to connect to network.
Phone is SIM unlocked and he tried with two different operators.
I can get it really cheap but im afraid is there possibility that motherboard is broken.
Im good with flashing and i hope that it is only problem with radio or corrupted update.
Did someone had similar problem after ICS update?
Please gimme some advice

That is not the stock ICS update. If that's an Incredible S, its running a custom ROM based on a VilleC2/One S ruu or dump (from the build number). That might be the issue, tell him to flash a stock based ROM like Android Revolution HD or Blackout ICS and see if it works
Also, could you get a screenshot of the info under "more" please? That could help
Thanks for replay, i will try to get screenshot of Software information/More

He told me that he did OTA update but i don't believe to him.
Also phone was Rooted and S-OFF
Is this situation fixable? I think that radio is problem, i did have HTC Wildfire so i know how to flash, use RUU and other stuff.
Or maybe this happen because he was rooted and S-OFF and accepted update
If this is a fixable situation then i could buy the phone
I dont think ota work if you are s-off so i think he has a custom rom

Definitely a custom Chinese dodgy Rom and kernel
You'd have to flash a known working ROM like I mentioned above to see if it's just a kernel or Rom issue
Keep in mind that you can't run an RUU with s off

But you think that it is possible to fix it?
And one more picture with bootloader version

got new info from seller, he admit that he is using custom ROM.
he told me that after ICS update he tried to flash ROMs and then it all started with connection problems.
He is S-OFF, rooted, got black rose boot loader.
i will buy this phone and try to make S-ON so i can run RUU and hope for the best.
i must read a little bit but is it possible to get completely to STOCK after black rose and S-OFF?

From what I hv understood I think you can flash the latest radio and choose a good jb ROM and it should work. The devs are really good here and thr are some really good ROMs to choose from. Good luck...
i hope too it will all go well, maybe is better to try with radio first, all the time im suspicious that radio is the problem.
only thing that is weird is that WiFi is working excellent and cant connect to cell service.

You will need bone stock 2.1, or if you have s-off, you can extract the firmware, and flash it via hboot.
Make sure you have unrevoked forever before you flash any official firmware.

It could be, the last update was 3.16.605.0 this one is 3.21.605.1
The site is going slow as balls right now.
The tech blogs did update their rumors yesterday to say the OTA was going to drop 9/1, so the timing would be about right.
I'm glad to see the radio version is the same as the last one leaked, so I don't have to flash that again

I have the 8/1 froyo leak,215 radio,s-off would I need to do with this .....im also rooted.??
Ooo very nice. Anyone tried this yet?
Would anyone be so kind to put out some quick notes how to apply this update? Like is there a certain order those need to be flashed, or will it work like an installer and do it's on thing?
Ya, I'm a very new to this community.
Looks like the 2.15 radio a lot of us installed is the radio they are rolling with, then? Seems same exact radio.
Not that I would, but since s-off, a person can just install this via h-boot or rom manager from sd if they wanted?
I think I will wait for one of the rom chefs to bake a flavor of it. It may be the same release we already have, but with extra "cool" stuff like locking tethering down, more bloatware and root-hole fills.....
Not messing with this one, since do not want VZW's "cool" stuff
added:
If this can be installed without root as well, it could be the real deal.
I'm a retarded noob... After
root, how do I flash this? From recovery? Or some other way? I don't know much about RUU...

And last dumb question...
After root and S-Off, if I flash this, do I lose root or my custom recovery? Thank you.

PLEASE put this in the OP so everyone doesn't go all flash happy and then whines when they lose root.

well, a master root was released last night by the exploid guy that targets ALL android devices to date... IE, it hits google code. But still, s-off to be safe. That's why we made it possible.
If this rom can be installed without rooting, I could see non-rooters wanting to, but why would anyone that has gone to the trouble of rooting want to go to a locked-down, tether constrained, bloatware version?
Looks like I need to S-OFF to my GFs INC then bring it back to this version should it be legit.

The IMIE Number is basically on the MODEM.CSC
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1158783&highlight=bootloaders
Try to flash the modem according to your Rom Specification.
Or Why don't you try to flash a Factory Rom!
May Be that Will FIX THE ISSUE!
Hope it helps...

Hello!
I bought a brand new black HTC One as an upgrade from my Samsung Galaxy S3 for about a week ago.
After playing with it for a day or two, I decided to unlock it with htcdev.com and root it, but I didn't flash any custom firmwares. All good so far.
But then an issue presented itself.
When deleting message threads is Messaging, I get an corrupted confirmation dialog:

If I change the system language to english, all is OK:
I sent an email to HTC customer support, to report the issue, but they told me to perform an factory reset to fix the issue. I performed the reset, but the issue is still there. I then sent another mail to HTC and told them the issue is still there after reset. They then told me that my phone must be sent to service center, as it is missing some language files. As I don't think so, and want someone to comfirm the bug, I turn to this forum.
Things I have tried:
Master reset (bug is still present)
Flash Android Revolution 22 (has same bug)
Flash an clean untouched 2.24.401.8 rom (bug still present)
Any thoughts?

I don't think you need to return it. It's a ROM issue most likely, and ARHD 22 is based on the Android 4.3 US Developer Edition ROM (as most other 4.3 ROMs, I presume), so I would safely assume that translation bugs would/could still be there until we see an official WWE 4.3 ROM.
Have you tried a 4.2.2 WWE ROM? I'm (pretty) sure the bug wouldn't be there.
As I mentioned, I tried flashing an clean untouched 4.2.2 wwe rom, build 2.24.401.8. But the bug is still there.

Yep can confirm your bug, probably a ROM "translation" bug from direct from HTC (I'm on ARHD 13.3). Maybe HTC should look into this :cyclops:

Hey guys, how's it going?
Well, I recently bought an HTC One M8. It is the Sprint Variant I believe. So it was an unlocked version with ViperOne 1.7.0 installed. I checked for updates and found there was an update for 1.8.0, to which I instantly updated. I was aware that Viper 2.4.0 is available for the device too, hence my question is if it's okay to update to flash/update full ROMs to this unlocked M8? I am aware that I would lose the unlock on non Sense based ROMs though. So, is there anything I should consider/remember before flashing the full ROM to the device?
Another problem I am facing is with achieving S Off. I am aware about what all of this is as I have always been involved with such things but always with factory unlocked variants. Anyway, I tried the firewater method, for at least 10 times but everytime it says that it can't S Off my device. (Screenshot Attached)

Is there something I can do about this? Anyone who had faced this and resolved it?
Other than these two little issues, my final question is that IF in case anything goes wrong, would a Nandroid Backup restore my phone to the current state INCLUDING the SIM Unlock?
In simpler terms, can anyone tell me what all can and can not affect the SIM unlock on my device? Kernels, ROMs, Mods, etc?
I did a lot of search before posting this thread (two nights) and found answers to many other questions and doubts but not to these three. Sorry if these are all actually noob questions. Thank you!
Anyone?

Only way to achieve soff is sunshine in conditions like you. It works like a charm. if you would have problem with sim unlock, Then, flash Bad Boyz rom and follow the instruction at second post. Just past same path 4 days ago
I would definitely do all of this but now I have another problem. I attempted to change runtime on Venom 1.8.0 but now it wouldn't reboot. Doesn't go past "HTC One" screen on boot. Can't try any other ROM because my broadband is having troubles. *sad*

Their is a small zip to change runtime back to dalvik it's your best choice or reflash the Rom next time do a nandroid before doing that. Your phone will not boot because you have a tweak or theme/mod that art doesn't like.. good luck remember the zip is in the read me section of viperrom.
