Any experience with Dell Streak or Streak7? I don't know that it handles HDMI output the same as TouchWiz does.

Awesome! I just need an HDMI cable, since I got the dock already. Can't wait!
My apologies for the ignorance but please elaborate.
So I can put my S7 in the dock, HDMI out to the tv and use a Wii remote to control the game on my S7?
What apps and settings do I need to make this happen?

I don't know, though, if this supports the analog controllers with the Classic Controller on PSX4Droid (that's what I'm hoping for), but it'll work fine for the Wiimote, nuncheck, and Classic using the digital controls for sure. The app itself does support analog input, but the emulator dev has to enable it. I haven't had time to test it out, yet (darned HC ROM taking up all my free time ).
When it scans for my Wii controller it doesn't see it. Am I forgetting something?

Yes, I use Snesoid and the wiimote app and I can play snes roms on my tv using the hdmi out on the dock and a regular wii remote. Been playing different roms for the last couple weeks, don't know if psx works or not though.

I replied to you on another thread; probably the same thing here. Streakdroid has known kernel issues that affect bluetooth. Switch to rooted or stock 2.2.2.
Yep the dock works well. Thing I cant figure out tho. Audio doesnt output through the hdmi?? Seems I have to use Line Out for sound or the device itself.
Also learned using the wiimote, I can control the tablet menus and so as well. No need to use the touch screen. =D
Was playing F-zero X last night hehe.
Wish the HDMI out worked on Honeystreak...
Hey, I'm getting a Bionic in a few days, has anyone been able to get a Wiimote working with an emulator? My dad has a bionic, I got it to connect to the WiiMote, but the emulators (nesoid & others) aren't recognizing the controller.
If you have a Wiimote, please test it? It's free, here it is:
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.ccpcreations.android.WiiUseAndroid&feature=search_result
& Here's a lite emulator:

I have been using Sixaxis on the market. Its only a buck or few and the controller is WAY easier to use then the Wii. Highly recommend buying it and (if not already owned) the controller. Oh, I think it still requires root. So if that's a problem then don't get it.
Ugh =*(, I hate the Playstation controller, the Wiimote one's not much better, & I would use the PS3 controller if I had one.
I'll just wait for CM7/9, I heard it modify's bluetooth & fixes the phones that have problems with it.

Yes, I believe Motorola botched something up with their Input Method handling. The Sixaxis Controller app uses a workaround called 'Bypass IME' to work on the Droid x2 and Bionic. Cyanogenmod does not suffer from this problem.
P.S. I'm working on an exciting update that might change your mind if you're interested in playing native Android games and not just emulators

What do you mean? Do you you mean an app that will add support for a controller in native android games, or do you have a game you're working on?
Thinking about getting a Gamepad for my Nexus 10. Which is the best solution? Sixasis seems to be well known but do I need to setup every single game to work with this or are most games with Gamepad support working out of the box?
Another question is the root requirement. Since at the time only main user get root I assume the gamepad then are useless for all user except main user?
Maybe another gamepad solution is the better choice?

I love my nyko playpad. Works perfectly with the vast majority of games I've tried it with ( Dead Trigger, GTA 3, N64/SNES emulators, Need For Speed, Shadowgun, etc...). No root required either!
Just DON'T install or use their Playpad software. It made it so my playpad would no longer pair and I couldn't fix the problem until I did a factory reset. A quick Google search revealed that many Nexus 10 owners had the same problem.
SteelSeries is the nicest looking controller I've seen, Googling 'SteelSeries nexus 10' brought up an article about it and the reviews seem great. Kind of expensive though.
If you don't wanna spend any money you can download Bluetooth controller from the market and use a another android device as a controller assuming u own 1 of course

Got a PS3 controller laying around? Use the Sixaxis app in the market to pair it with your tablet. I've used a few different gamepads (bluetooth and OTG) and this is my favorite by far.
I would also like to know some more input on this. I have the sixaxis app and a ps3 controller that I used on my N7 when I had it. I will admit getting it to work with games like GTA3 or any other app that uses a touch input seems to be kind of a pain in the ass. I am looking for an easier solution one that doesn't require me to root or mess around with any on screen mappings or configurations. It seems like the gamepads from gamestop have software that sort of does that for you.
Does anybody know how well these work? I am american and I'm lazy as hell. If I can buy a solution for only 30 bucks and have it work for games like Shadowgun, GTA3, SNES etc without having to put too much effort beyond saying button 1 = jump etc then I would prefer that.
I would like to hear peoples opinions on this though. The reviews on gamestops website don't really offer to much and I just want a good solid, reliable easy to use controller that doesnt require me to root but if someone can point me out to a good easy to understand site to manipulate the ps3 controller and mappings I may take that into consideration. Otherwise any other reviews on controllers would be helpful as well.
edit* I also would like to not use a usb OTG cable. I'm looking strictly for bluetooth.

Read my post about the Nyko Playpad above. Any game with gamepad support (including the ones I listed) will work swimmingly with little to no effort.
Thanks for all the tips. Tried BT controller from play store. Did work good with emus but did not get any function in dead trigger.
Is gamepad just supposed to work in dead trigger because I didn't found any settings for configuring the gamepad.

I picked up the samurai controller from GameStop and it worked flawlessly with all the games. Synced right up to the n10 like a boss. Good build quality and has the option to act like a gamepad or a keyboard. Some games require one or the other.

Probably not your ideal solution, but I use a wired Xbox 360 controller along with USB/BT Joystick Center 6 and, if playing a touch-only game, I use Joy2Touch Server from the same developer and set up a profile. Yes, you do need to set it up with every different touch-only game. With emus, you only need to set up your desired button layout once.

I'm interested in this setup for playing Heroes of Order and Chaos. It uses a virtual d-pad on the screen. Could I make the gamepad work with it?
+1 for the PS3 controller + Sixaxis.
It will work without any setup (other than starting the Sixaxis app) for games that have native gamepad support. Games like these include GTA III/Vice City, Shadowgun, Virtua Tennis, Sonic CD, Riptide GP, etc.
For games that don't support the gamepad you have the option of creating a touch profile. It truly is very easy.
And for those that are super lazy, the website http://www.sixaxisofpower.com/ is a community with user submitted touch profiles for various games.

Sounds like the solution I am looking for. I need to buy the controller then
But one question which is quite crucial. Is it only main user with root who can use it or if it's installed in system maybe the needed files will be accessible by all users?
Oh one more.... The newer Dualshock are they Sixasis compatible or is it just the old ps3 controllers that are usable?

Yep, it's pretty easy to set it up for a game that uses a virtual D-Pad/buttons.
Hey guys, do you need a special cable to first connect the PS3 controller to the phone\tablet or will it work just by pairing them up over Bluetooth?
Cheers,
M
You will need a mini usb cable the first time to pair it. After that it will pair automatically.

PS3 controller has a mini USB port, but the Nexus 10 uses micro USB (there's a difference; micro is a bit smaller) :/ But if anything, a USB OTG cable is like $1 or so, just might take a while to get to you depending on where you order it from online, and retail stores would probably price it at $10 or something lol
Yes,
The mini USB connects to the controller, the other end of the cable will be a standard usb connector. You can connect it to the nexus 10 with an OTG adapter.
If you don't have the OTG connector, you can pair it through your pc using the sixaxis pair tool:
http://www.dancingpixelstudios.com/sixaxiscontroller/tool.html
You forgot to say u need root to use sixaxis

Google play is telling me that its compatible.
If you're rooted install this app (free) to see if sixaxis will work or not.

It doesn't work. I was pretty disappointed considering i could even use a sixaxis controller on my iPhone
I remember reading that it has something to do with the bluetooth drivers HTC uses
Hi,
I'm new here and would start with this:
It's sad to here, that the HTC One doesn't support Sixaxis, I really hoped for that...
Is there any way to get the controller working e.g. with some kind of bluetooth dongle that emulates a keyboard to use it over an OTG cable?

It will work with a OTG cable but if the games doesn't have gamepad support, you would need the Sixaxis app.to map the keys.

What will happen if i connect two Sixaxis Controller over USB?
Will the HTC One regognize both controllers separatly?

No they will be seen as the same pad.
This is ridiculous on HTC's part and i'm seeing it as a complete deal breaker, i love this phone but this is a load of crap.
No controllers are working over USB OTG for me, anyone managed to get them to work?
Moga Pro working well however.
Try a custom kernel.

The moga works wirelessly I'm guessing? I was tempted to get it but never did because sixaxis always worked for me. Since apparently it doesn't on this phone, I may get the moga if it works wirelessly .

i have the pocket moga and it works fine. Make sure to get the universal driver to use it in unsupported games:

the pro controller should basically mimic what a ps3 controller does

First unlock your HTC ONE, then recovery, then backup your original rom just in case. Install Viper ROM 1.1.0 along with Elemntal X kernel search forums here in xda. Download them and put both in a folder of choice on your internal sd card. Wipe factory reset, flash Viper ROM then flash Elemntal X kernel. Reboot, rebooot again (yes, twice). Connect OTG cable, no power add-on needed, direct cable only ($6 ebay) along with PS3 controller usb wired of course. Open game. Play. No sixaxis needed, kernel recognizes the contoller right away. Games it works with that I have and know for sure work. MC4, Max Payne, Shadow Gun, GTA 3 anniv. addition, Dead Trigger, havent tryed Nova yet but im sure it works, Sonic. Most of these games you cant configure buttons for so the kernel does the mapping for you that you cant change. NOTE: After market PS3 controllers dont work, work but some options dont work in game like shoot, BIG ONE lol. XBOX 360 works, but for the games that have button mapping ONLY. You loose options in game with ones that dont have mapping, like again, shooting. HOPE THIS HELPS EVERYONE!!!!!

Yea but then you have the issue of using a wired controller, I already knew that you could do that.
The whole fascination is that it's "Wireless", hence why were talking about bluetooth working with Sense, it's an age old issue which has plagued HTC's phones and the only way around it usually is to run an AOSP or Cyanagen based ROM.
Using the Moga allows you to keep sense and have a pad that works over BT.
Appreciate the input but it defeats the object.

First post, thanks for this great forum!
Wasn't sure if this should be posted here or in the Q&A forum so forgive me if I've misposted.
First, I'm sure the answer is yes, but are the sixaxis ps3 controllers still limited to rooted nook HD's?? I've done alot of seaching and I've seen ICS natively supports them so I was hoping it had changed.
Second, can the wii u pro controller connect to a stock nook HD through a wii controller app the same as a wii controller?
I've searched both these topics here and elsewhere without a dinfinitive answer so hopefully I'm not repeating a previous thread.
Thanks in advance!
So Sixaxis is supposed to work for a rooted Nook HD+? I haven't been able to get it working.
i have a dual shock 3 that works but you need to change the mac address of the controller first (via an app on pc/mac), then i used the sixaxis app from the play store to connect the controller. i'd be interested in checking out the wii u pro controller but i've been content just using the wiimote w/ the classic pro controller attached and it's working just fine for me, even if it is a bit clunky to carry all that stuff around. if you don't feel like putting in the legwork you could always just pay the $34.99 for a moga controller since it's probably the closest you'll get to an official android controller
