i know that without a kernel compatibilty with ubuntu touch it's impossibile to run it very well, but maybe as customnexus something can be made..
However in device list of that page there is a new entry..LG OPTIMUS 4X..so i think that it's a good news..

i think in the upcoming week we will get 4.1.2 with unlockable bootloader, the guy have to wait a little

I very much doubt there will be any custom ROMs available for this device just now..... but there are active members in this forum who are going to be porting CM7 and Paul @ Modaco also is going to dev for this phone.

Because LG has fixed his kernel against any known exploit.
We have to find a new exploit (but our community is small) or wait that else finds a new exploit that can work also with our kernel.

Yes, but not just the kernel, the framework is fixed too (zergRush & Gingerbreak were framework exploits).
ETA: of course, it wasn't LG who fixed the stuff, they just picked a fortunate point for the release.

AFAIK 2.3.4 does not denote one specific state of the source tree, but several, possibly spanning months. If so, it is quite possible for an exploit for work on a 2.3.4, but not on another one.
There are two rooting threads: one in general and one in q&a.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1456274
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1442588&page=36
No reason to open another one. Just read that just some two or three guys did root the 2.3.4. We tried all available options and none of them worked. So we wait for the smart guys to come with solutions. Stay tuned and read first.

I suggest the same, when I first installed stock LG ICS, phone was lagging badly and almost instantly I've downgraded to GB. As soon as modified stock roms came out I gave them a try and I can only say that i feel like I have a new phone, it's performing as never before...

Not many smartphones has already got/will get 4.2 neither 4.3. It's just too much work for almost nothing. The diference between them is photosphere and in 4.3 is what ? Low power bluetooth?
I bet most of the brands will update 4.1 straight to 5.0 and them forget about these phones.

4.2 = widgets on lockscreen, dashclock, toggles. Too big. 4.3 trim, manage notif permissions, maybe not that big and could be skipped. But honestly i think we'll get neither of those. Motorola already talked **** about moto x and nothing was said about their old phones, so i think they're forgotten. The intel thing could've been the beginning of a new era, or a dead end, and time only tells.
I think there is no chance that Motorola will update Android version for our phone. They've made one update, from 4.0 to 4.1, and they are dead silent about future updates - so no chances, zero imho.
Still, there is Omar and maybe he will be able to run AOSP Android on RAZR I.
When I've bought this phone it was like bet in a game - unlocked bootloader, great Intel CPU, but very small community and incompatibility with Android ARM world. Time will tell.

Hello,I dont think that Motorola,Google or Intel will update the Razr I.
I asked them all and received no answers. So I think there is no interest
in this device.
But I know that my next phone has no Intel inside, because its too difficult to build

TWRP On TF701T

Hi,
I've looked for a thread on this, but all I can find is the TF700T. So I figured I'd start one. If it's a dupe, please just point me in the right direction and I'll ask the Moderator to delete this one. Thanks!
Anyway, I'm wondering if there's any way to get TWRP on an ASUS TF701T? I have CWM on it, but I need to be able to back up to my 64GB SD Card that I have installed in the slot and CWM won't see anything over 32GB, nor anything that's not formatted to FAT32. No offense to anyone who likes CWM, but in 2014, that's just weak.
Any help would be appreciated very much! I have been looking for days all over the Internet and in these forums and simply cannot find what I'm looking for.
There's no TWRP version for TF701 yet - unfortunately. Not even a touch version of CWM :crying:

Okay, I started to read the URL, then quit, because I can't stand reading pages, looking for the purpose of it.
No offense to you. I appreciate you pasting in the link! But really quickly, what is it for? Formatting larger than 32GB as FAT32, or something to that effect?
Also, aren't you the guy that makes those way cool kernels, like the one I was using for quite a while? It allowed OverClocking and stuff?
Curious: Do you have one for:
HTC One 64GB Developers Edition
BootLdr/GSM Unlocked (MetroPCS)
Factory ROM, KitKat v4.4.2, Rooted
CWM Recovery
Also.....
ASUS TF701T Tablet 10"
Factory ROM, JB v4.3, Rooted
CWM Recovery
I don't want to install a Custom ROM or anything. I like to start from scratch and then tweak the Factory ROM to the way I want my device to be, one modification/tweak at a time.
I know you had one when I was doing my Galaxy Tab and I have scoured XDA for your Kernels, because I only use stuff that I really trust and I really trust your work!
I'm not trying to be lazy here, even though it may seem it from not reading the whole URL. But that's not it. I'm just a "to the point" guy. I'm not saying I never ramble, but you will know what the purpose is rather quickly. <lol> And as I said, I did scour XDA and Google as best I could (for 3 days now) to find one by you that will work on my device, but I just could not find one.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME GUYS!!!

Hi, i gave a try a few days ago to build TWRP for TF701T; i think that my twrp.fstab is correct and that my TWRP build flags are OK too BUT the file i built was not working at all => touchscreen not working at all, dock keyboard was not working neither but recovery was correctly booting into itself... that is all because without any input method working, i got stucked into it !
I truly hope that you will produce a working one :fingers-crossed: and i really like to try your upcoming TWRP for TF701T builds out...

The TF701 was released what one or two years ago and still no touch recovery. This is a very good device and one of the more overlooked, IMO.
Makes me wonder why no one that has the knowhow can or will make the touch drivers needed for such a recovery
I very much agree with the post above this post, it says it best.
