You wont have a dead processor unless you overvolt it which I dont think you would do anyways. By the time your processor is dead, you'd have long gotten a new phone. The most you could get is stability problems where there is not enough voltage to supply the processor and in that case your phone would just crash.
its like how on a computer if you overclock and you dont supply enough voltage to your processor, you receive a blue screen.
So is it safe to overclock to 1.4
Ghz?

Yep, I had it at 1.4ghz for a long time with no problems. But now that I'm on beast mode kernel, I can't OC.
Some people have it at 1.8 GHz without problems
Sent from my not so Incredible S
Beastmode runs well at 2ghz actually on my phone
But I have it now to run at 1.2ghz

If you overclock your CPU too much without raising the voltage it may not even boot.

Did you set setcpu's sliders both to Max and also performance? Otherwise it doesn't take. The kernel still thinks it is capped at 1ghz even when oc'd so you cannot adjust setcpu once applied.

Has anyone clocked the CPU to 1.5GHz on ICS yet? I love ICS but I don't want to stay on GB for Holicakes.

You can't go by that. Mine reads 1.2 in about phone as well. Download a free CPU app like antutu CPU master and it will show you the truth.

Guys, I was looking for hunterwu kernels and I unfortunately landed on this Page. Is that really possible? If that is in Chinese (partial or full) can we ask that guy to port in complete english here?
Will that not reduce the life of the device? Or burn it?:banghead:
OMG

It is possible but the lack of stability wouldn't be worth it, not to mention your phone heating up which could cause saulder to melt and short your device.

Raise the voltages and it might be possible. Other than cooking eggs and benchmarking though, it's not a good idea

You still need food supplies and lights.
And, a phone this size isn't big enough to cook anything substantial so you might have a big line of people waiting outside your shop

Yes that's right GPU is graphics display chip which is single core Mali-400. Processor chip is Dual Core.

check the resolution. The Higher it is, the lower fps and score but also have addittional effect and more detailed.
