For those of us that have an unlocked bootloader, where do we begin to get cm10.1 or Ubuntu touch, etc working? I did a great amount of ROM cooking with winmo but I haven't done anything with android. I can definitely find my way around but for something like porting, I have no idea where to start and what to do. Any insight would be great!

Re: Ubuntu touch
As soon as we get cm10.1 we will be able to port it over

Nice! That makes it on less step.
What's the skinny on cm 10.1?

So i finished the port, but something is wrong with device specifics. Since the build isn't really functional, unless you are an app developer, I'm not going to invest more time into the port. Sorry guys, ill pick it up again when there is a more... useful build available to port.

I actually have a decently functioning d2att port. How to install if interested:
First make a backup
Then wipe data. You can dirty flash if you're already running cm10.1 but don't dirty flashes are a no-no.
Then flash this:
http://db.tt/p4FgJsnN
Then flash this:
http://db.tt/KoRbVtrT
But WiFi/cell service doesn't work at all yet so just understand that before you flash. Also the screen doesn't really shut off. Sort of a pain in the butt but still, its for developers haha.
Oh and also MAKE A BACKUP.
This actually isn't all my work, i just simply modified a few text files. Here is the original thread:

This works awesomely. If only there was a version out that had functional productivity. Can't wait to try a full version. I might ditch android for this one

Me too. Its coming in the next few weeks. I'm surprised more developers haven't jumped on this already, but with the state Ubuntu touch is in, i guess it makes sense.

Many Devs are trying to port it right now and it's based of CM, making it somewhat easy but there are quite a few bugs (like a lot are reporting no or slow data). Maybe we'll see a Dev port it for the Cappy.
So its still somewhat android because its based on cm10

You'll have to read on it, i haven't paid enough attention to it to really make any statement here.

In case you haven't heard about it, look at this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PcpyavQSvMk
In my opinion I think its going to either be a new CyanogenMod experience or a social network/social app in some sort of way. So, thoughts?

Maybe the're changing their ROM name you'll never know what the team has up their sleeves
But "a new challenger"? That got me there
What could it mean ?
A new phone,ROM,OS
Rumors say that KLP is going for more a CynogenMod style
That could be it maybe

Since it has been announced and released to the nexus line. Can anyone start converting to the Atrix HD? That would be so legit.

Perhaps this post would have been better placed in the questions thread my friend. On that note, the devs here will more than likely let us know what is in the works when/if they have something together. The fantastic ROMs we currently have available should be more than enough to keep you satisfied for the time being.

Android 4.3 is aimed at developers so you probably won't notice anything different.
Sent from my Atrix HD using Tapatalk 2
Bluetooth 4.0 support will be the main difference.
Dhacker and company will have 4.3 features incorporated sooner than later. As for a legit complete ROM, probably not until cm10.2 is buildable, then they'll port it over

I am looking for a rom, which has the absolute basics. I will be running Ubuntu on it all the time, so it needs low resources.
Cm10.1

Unfortunately CM10 doesn't work with HDMI, so in my case it wouldn't suit my needs. I want to use Ubuntu with my lapdock. Does anyone else have any suggestions? I really value the opinion of othe XDA'ers

I would give myfishbear's Eclipse ROM a try. It's stock based so HDMI should still work but it's debloated so shouldn't be as much of a resource hog.
