Hopefully somebody knows

The Argentinian developer Pzyduck might have the solution though is currently the rough one. It had been developed for Atrix HD and eventually spread among RAZRs. It demands Linux computer as a base and it's not clearly indicated whether it works with RAZRI though instruction is published in RAZRI thread: http://www.grupoandroid.com/topic/71012-root-exploit-on-jelly-bean-root-with-locked-bootloader/
Odds are that the solution is suitable for all RAZRs. The similarity with Motofail2go is obvious: both had been developed for Atrix and later transmitted to RAZRs without problem and regardless of ARM or I processor...
Hope that it could be triggered from Windows one day...
That's really close...that could be done soon on Windows! :victory:
I like my RAZR i a lot, but the UI and boring sounds are killing me. I cannot wait to root and chop it into pieces. I have unlocked the bootloaders of previous phones, but there are so many bricked devices around here and not enough RAZR i owners to help out...too risky for me! I will wait for a locked bootloader solution for now. That other thread looks promising...
Oh, I'll wait for it too.
Maybe it is close, if he got it working all perfectly on linux, maybe someone can make it compatible with Razr i and Windows.
Hope someone get it working!

The reason we haven't said much on the OTA is it's not entirely official. Until it starts hitting everyones phones I wouldn't say it's released. And until then, it could change! We know the leaked OTA works with our tools still. But that doesn't mean the released one will. Once we KNOW what is final, we will make a method to update without the nonsense of ruu'ing your phones. If you wait, you will get a easier time. If you are in such a hurry to get 720p, so be it.
Yeah, I'm not really understanding why everyones rushing to get this on their phone. I'm waiting. I know once it officially hits our phones it shouldn't take long until we can patch it properly and still keep our root.
Yes, this i can wait for... a good, working froyo rom ---------- that's another story...

Thanks for the update and of course all of your hard work, it's really awesome when devs keep the community informed as much as you guys do.
I as well was wondering why people were rushing to get this done on their phone so fast. I knew you guys would be patching it I also noticed that you guys now have an unlocked bootloader?!

full nand unlock + whatever else this can accomplish (I guess anything now) here we come!

I am a tweaker by heart, so I cannot sit idle, waiting. I'm not saying its a bad thing to wait, its just not for me and I am willing to take the risks.
what does unlocked bootloader mean?
It means our phones are completely unlocked and we can screw them up even easier than before.
I am currently rooted, but would like the contents of the upcoming OTA. I understand that I have to revert back to stock and unroot in order to install this update, since the new radio is what I am most excited about. Is this our only option to go about applying the update? I like having root access, but ultimately I would rather receive the OTAs that will be coming soon. Does anybody have any insight about whether or not there will be a way to install these updates in the form of a ROM without losing root, or should I just bite the bullet and unroot if this is what I ultimately want with my phone?

That's pretty much what this post is about. Once the OTA is final and is actually being pushed, we will get a version of it that doesn't require us to go through the current process which requires us to unroot our phones.
I, for one, can wait for the rooted version of the OTA...continued thanks to the unrEVOked team for their unselfish efforts on our behalf.

If the version that was posted on here for everyone to DL is indeed the true official ota u wont lose root. As unrevokeds brilliant tool still makes even verizons ota its *****. I love it when vzw and htc gets owned by some guys that do this shot for free. All hail unrEVOked lol

+1, I wonder if these guys (and girls?) ever get job offers from htc/vzw or even google. I would if I was one of those companies. Skills can be taught but passion and critical thinking can't.

LOL. I like to think that the reason the root still worked is because HTC isn't a douche like Motorola and realized that the hackability of the phone translates to sales of the phone.
Just my opinion...

Sorry, no, they would be quite happy to close the hole. And with the leaks posting the plaintext method up for them recently, they will pretty quickly.
To be honest all you most likely need as opposed to these elaborate methods to unroot, is to flash stock recovery back (hint, use reflash with the ruu's recovery.img as the image you select!), and then run the leaked ota as update.zip. But again, I don't see much reason to upgrade until it's official and we determine the changes.

Hello guys, sorry my English king, but I'm using the Google translator, I wanted to do
a question: is it possible to make a porting of the rom miui on our tab? thanks.
I have contacted multiple devs along with some kernel modders, and yes IT IS possible, since we do have a working version of CM7. Is it gonna be easy? Hell no! I'd love to work on a project like this but i don't have the experience and I have a Sprint CDMA tab, which seems to brick very often. I dont even know if theres a way to root and successfully unroot.
Thanks,

Oh don't say cm7 is working or the Android police will come after you and blast this thread
WARNING THIS MAY BRICK UR PHONE,
I need an USA resident that has a contract with ATT for testin, for more info pm PLZ, ASAP
This will only help you guys out.
One tester that has an att contract and is willing to get a warranty replacement if it does not work, is all that is needed. The process was verified on the RAZR and we did something similar on the Atrix2.
If this works you might be able to go back to ICS from JB to root and use something like root keeper to get JB back, just a thought here.
And yes I know most of you do not know me, but I was one of the Devs on the Atrix2, and I am now a free agent so to speak while waiting for the Ubuntu Phone OS to drop, so I am just trying to help a few of you out here, and triloger asked me to take a look at this with him.
There are no guarantees, but this is worth a shot.
As jim said its worth giving a shot
...
..im here
inbox for all the instructions
...
..got it
Thank you testers! I would offer too if my phone were not already on jb.
The DROID RAZR HD XT926 CAN go back to ICS as the secure version did NOT increase in the Jellybean update.
On the Atrix HD, it has increased for the official Jellybean.
Thread CLOSED
Hope lost...

..not yet, im still trying to get that ota
well try out best to get this workin
So you guys are still working on it? Or figuring out a new method?

Both
@TTLayLand
...hey bro talk to triloger for further details
I tried downgrading, to no avail. I upgraded to JellyBean 4.1.1 via OTA and lost root (whoops), so I tried flashing back to ICS 4.0.4. It wouldn't let me, so I decided to reflash ICS a few more times. Nothing bad happened until the last try, which bricked my phone. I'll confirm (for now) that you unfortunately cannot go back to ICS from JB on an AT&T Atrix HD. :C
I dont know if he is even working on a method anymore....
I would donate if I knew he was capable/willing to figure out how to root or roll back the AHD.
Just saw this article, wondering if this might translate to our AHD?

Unfortunately it doesn't, I tried it yesterday. How ever I'm working on porting an atrix 2 exploit now, to our device (the atrix 2 jb leak exploit). I need a few to test it out though, dont want to possibly cause bricks!
Although I have a bit of doubt in this port (may require unlocked bootloader which is unavailable for atrix hd), someone more than likely will come out with an exploit soon before me.
Cheers to root devs!
I'm sure there are many Canadians wondering what can be done with their version of the 4X HD (P880G).
I am among them.
If anyone knows what is available for the P880G in terms of Android development, please post it here. Thank you!

Not a lot, or none... P880G don't even have official JB.
The flash programs don't allow to install P880 Roms cause they have a specific target.
There is no way to unlock bootloader in ICS soo, you can't try CM...
Unfortunatly looks that P880G is limited to the official V10b/c/f, ICS.
Maybe in a near future

Thanks a lot. I am assuming this means CM10 and all other custom roms are not available either. I guess I'll just wait it out, or replace this phone soon.

Couldn't you try the bootstrap roms from dexter ?
Yay Canada. Getting the short end of the stick since 1958! Realllllly regretting buying this phone.
