i need to have a stable rom wiith support init.d (ext partion)
actually i have kept this phone at home
so i want to installed the best available and battery friendly rom
as i wont be using this much and can be use at home
please help
Use cm10.1 blekota s3 edition (find in android development section, not in official dev), install wolfscript and int2ext4+ (by that order, and follow instructions given by them) , set cpu to 672mhz (max), powersave governator and VOILÁ. Beauty, smooth, battery friendly ROM for SGA.

Hey guys, I got my new Galaxy S two days ago, already optimised it and installed the new Darky's Extreme Edition 9.5 custom rom. Now I want to undervolt and maybe overclock my SGS. Is this possible with this custom rom ? Do I need a special kernel or can I just use apps like setcpu or voltagecontrol ?
greetings, Sir Kasimir
Probably but yet again you need to ask Darky .
jje
I think that you can't OC on darky's rom. I know that it is available in ultimate rom but for darky I'm not sure.

Possible on every ROM.
You just need a kernel which is capable of OC/UV and app to control it.
Ok, thanks for the reply.
That means I can use a different kernel with this rom right ? Now I need to know what the Dark Core Kernel does and what the advantages/disadvantages of the different kernels are.
Search xda and decide what kernel suits you best

Hi,
I just bought a SGS+ and I am curious what ROM shoud I choose?(I`ve seen a lot here) Because stock ROM lag`s every time I unlock phone, sometimes apps lag a couple of seconds and I would preffer ICS based ROM but I can try JellyBean too.
I'm looking forward to hearing from you guys!
Thanks.
Really comes down to your preferences. Some are feature rich, some are slimmed down, still others are aimed at gamers and performance. Personally I'm enjoying the Tsunami builds in the 4.1.2 flavor. Just check out a few until one suits you.

Ok!
I understand. Well, I think that I will download and start to test some of them! Thanks for the tip, I will start with that one that you reccomended.

There are many good ROMs, you should try them and decide what is the best for you.
If you want more performance or if you don't want lag, you can flash a kernel with OC support, you can change the governor and the IO scheduler.
Good luck
I too own a SGS + and for me Bio Hazard is the perfect ICS Rom.
While Gigabread + is the perfect Gingerbread Rom.
But that are my views, it may not be the perfect match for you, so just try out all the ROMs, and one last thing, Jellybean at the sec is a little buggy so stick with 2.3 or 4 !
Ty Brahmnoor! I've tryed Biohazzard and it is a great ROM! Till now!
the topic can be closed! ty all!

no probs !
I strongly recommend using Jelly Bean ROMs rather than ICS ones. There are several reasons for that because JB is clearly an upgrade to ICS and not to mention the notorius ICS media bug.
You can start working with cm rom's i find them very attractive. although flashed today MagicBean rom, pretty nice to.
All you need to do is start working in that, keep on trying
My two favs...and the only 2 i switch between after trying almost everything there is.
1. CM9 + Devil Kernel (ICS)
2. Saurom + Semaphore 2.7.4 (gingerbread)
Currently using Saurom + semaphore 2.7.4
Just recently flashed this and im very impressed and pleased.

Guys! This is an SGS+ I9001 and not an i9000! Stop telling the OP to flash i9000 ROMS oO.

I would suggest trying out the JB ROM by Ivendor (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2000828). I'm pretty happy with it, especially since I do not use the features mentioned in that thread as buggy/not working.
The overall performance is awesome, the user interface is very smooth and battery life is better than I had with CM9 ROM.

Can any1 give me the list of fully Stable roms other than Cyanogen mod 7 for my Galaxy Ace GT-S5830 ???

Sticklite v8 and the myth 2.0 both stockbased and stable roms I'm using the myth at the moment and loving it but it all depends what the individual desires in a rom to say which is the best

I use and recommend THIS one
I suggest you speriance rom. It's very smooth and battery monster.
XperiaTized V13 is best, consumes the least ram possible... :good:
But there is 50+ fully stable Roms, guess you should try at least half of them and decide which one suits best for you!
Good luck!
Hey guys , post here all the best combinations you use , even if it has stock with it. I need recommendations for my phone but i dont wanna wreck it. When someone answers with the right answer youre not helping just me , but every junior member here in XDA that want to discover and tweak their phone.
So the real objective of this thread is to know the right combination for
:Smoothness even with the sacrifice of battery
: Outlasting battery even with the sacrifice of performance
:Smoothness and Battery performance with no sacrifices
and, :What combination does Recognized Developers / Contributors use?
and here is the Combination:
Stock FWs +[Insert a random Custom ROM here] + [Insert a random Custom Kernel here] + Crossbreeder + 4cylturbo + Other mods
Including CPU Governor and I/O Scheduler SUGGEST BEST COMBO or tell yours
Mine is: SmartAssV2 + Zen
Thats it guys , im waiting for your answers
Regards, j-skeelz
And why you open this thread in the develop area?
It must be at General Section or Help & Troubleshooting
Moved to general
My suggestion is that you should try them all. Only then you will know the difference and see which suits you best. People's suggestion might not suit your taste or usage. So try them all yourself and see how it goes. Don't forget to make backup if you don't wanna wreck your phone.
Every phone is different..just try it by yourself..now i'm using lq4+cocore 5.0+turbo stock+4cyl script and my phone dont have problem with performance..just battery sometime didnt last longer as in chucky bean v9..

I use Pure Vanilla V3 Rom with Co-Core 5.0 CWM. Everything is fluid and without any lag.
Stock jb (xxlq4) with CoCore 5.0 TWRP..very smooth, no lags..

I am on jelly mod 4 and cocore 5.0 cwm and 4cyl turbo script and cross breeder too
Everythings awesome no issues

LQB(odex)+SiRi RC4+Stock+debloated=No issues, for me Siri kernel is like having a stock kernel with CWM:good: and after debloating all sammy crap since i don't use it, RAM consumption is like somewhere when I used gingerbread. Battery is normal, since it's a smartphone, I plug charger in whenever I get a chance. unless I go camping I use my old nokia GSM phone LoL
my combo
I use pure vanilla v3 with thunderzap + cwm..
XXLQ4 + JellyMod 4.0 + CoCore-E 5.3 Nightly (+ default governor and I/O)= Almost two days of life battery
PS: You should put in the OP that users should put ther governors and I/O
plz How much free RAM is available?
